Interesting comments on the feeding. I hear and read all the time that overfeeding fish makes them sick and kills them. I would like to hear more on your father in law’s feeding his fish. I can see for myself that his fish are healthy and his tanks look great.
I love the different tanks he has going, but if it was me I'd have a different setup going where all my small tanks on 1 wall or in 1 area & all my medium size tanks in another & all my biggest tanks would be my display show off tanks, but that's me, he has a knack for fish that thrive so that's all that really matters.👍
I always say that there is a difference between clean and sterile. Our society has become obsessed with sterilization we have forgotten that it's completely unnatural and that bacteria is supposed to be everywhere lol. Also after you've seen a few keepers you will realize the ones in the pristine/sterilized tanks become sicker easier bc there's no natural antibiotics and stuff like that
I always say "the front of the glass is for me and my guests......the other 3 sides are for the fish". The best tanks are heavily planted, dirted/soil substrate, and understocked or appropriately stocked. I can't tell you the last time I've gravel vacced any of my tank.
The plants are something I’m just at the very beginning of live plants. Very good for the fish and fry. A dirty aquarium is a happy aquarium. Merry Christmas Dylan and family🎄⭐️

I breed lots of fish and even Gobies without changing water and only feeding once a day, just sand and plants 😂

I feel the same about deans' sterile empty fish tank breeding style. So depressing.
