Thank you for recognizing and telling of the autracities that occurred in Moldova during WW2. My family is from bessarabia - Moldova and the other side of Ukraine. This hits home and I thank you for explaining what occurred to your viewers. Many wishes and happy holidays.
I stayed in Chisinau for 3 days a few years ago and enjoyed my stay. The parks were good and so was the market. I also went to a wine festival which was great fun. Friendly people in a city that has seen better days! Coming from the UK it was good value for money.
My wife and I are seriously think of visiting chisinău as good value for money and I want something different rather than the same old same old , europe isn’t just Spain Greece Italy Germany lol
Great video. Loved Chisinau when I visited and stayed at Hotel Cosmos. Well done on presenting a positive image of a developing country. Now direct trains from Chisinau to Bucharest.
What a great video, showed that Chisinau has great architecture, but also more derelict stairs, even if the one Bald showed is fixed! Great narration too, new subscriber here!
The Majority of the people of the Republic of Moldova speak Rumanian because they are actually ethnic Rumanians. Bald and Bankrupt spoke to them is Russian because of Moldova's previous Soviet past. Prior to World War 2 present Moldova was known as Rumanian Bessarabia.
@@hunguy3280 wrong!! Stop all of you calling us Romanian when we aren’t Romanian! Why don’t you understand that we have a different story and background compared to Romanians from Romania! We are Moldovans from Republic of Moldova. It’s Romania who stole our lands and put this Romanian language in our country and the Russians and Ukrainians who stole our lands too and for this reason we speak Russian, Ukrainian, Romanian languages. Nice video. I like how you don't sugar-coat the bad bits but find some spots that are nice. Train-station and Monastery look beautiful. What's the building in the background @ 4:42?
There will be more videos from chisinau which explore some of the more run down areas. Overall, I loved it there. It was one of my highlights of 5 months in Europe.
A Bald Collaboration maybe?? Anyway, great video. I'm planning a trip to Ukraine in July and then If that goes OK then I'll be planning a trip to Moldova and other surrounding former Soviet countries.
@@globaltreats I'm looking forward to seeing the Ukraine Videos. I'll be staying in Kiev for 4 days at the ibis. I've got a tour of chernobyl booked but I'm not sure what to do for the other 3 days.
The circus building finally received 2mln euroes to replace and renovate the roof. And they are looking for the other 10mln needed for the rest of the building. The statute of the Footbal nect to the Circus was supposed to be the beginning of a masive Stadium and Sports arena that never happened because, doen in that whole several people have houses and they didn't want to move also the project ended up costing to much so they gave up but the Football still stands
I love this video and it’s the sort of place I will visit next year with the wife , I’d certainly cancel Paris for chisinău but that’s another story lol subscribe now and thanks I liked it .
Those people who are interested in the Holocaust in Rumania I would recommend the book written by Matatias Carp. It is a horrific story "where people were beaten until they lost all strength and succumbed; they were suffocated in carriages with sealed ventilating holes; certain victims were sold, Jews were cut into pieces so that the axles of carts could be smeared with their blood. Considering the many historical examples of thievery, Rumania above all other nations and eras, can boast of the most terrible acts of pillaging".

Awesome video, looks like an interesting place. Some fantastic buildings. Good work.

chisinau was one of my favourite cities on my Euro tour so far.
YESS! EUROVISION 2022!! LEZ GO WITH THE TRAINNN
I remember watching the original Bald and Bankrupt video. Cool video.
What a great video, showed that Chisinau has great architecture, but also more derelict stairs, even if the one Bald showed is fixed! Great narration too, new subscriber here!
The train station currently is used just for few routes, so it is empty most of the day. Most of transportation is made by busses.

nice video mate. always wanted to go travelling around the lesser known parts of europe.
You should!
I like the underpass art
Great video
Good use of the word gennel. Wonder if anyone outside Sheffield uses that term?

there's some cracking street art in Kyiv so a walking tour of that is cool as it gets you about the different areas. some weird museums too.

I wonder if they fixed the stairs because of bald‘s video😂😉
Possibly. Not all the underpasses have been done up.

How many times? It's called Chișinău, not Kishiniov for crying out loud
sorry about that.

That wheelchair access on those step…!
you should see it in balds video!
No snow?

then maybe there'd be even less tourists?

Good luck trying to convince your wife to go to Chisinau rather than Paris :)
Good job! You should also make a video about Cernauti, Storojinet and Hotin, romanian counties in Ukraine.
Brutalist architecture doesnt age well
Benjamin was right. And a recent song about him explains why we love him so much:

,
can you get along with "no russian language skills" in these oarts of the world? Thanks
I've managed. Most people in moldova speak romanian, not Russian.
romanian here you do realise that there was a pandemic the last 2 years and a lot of fund went through that
the lack of funds to improve the city was evident way before the pandemic. The government stole 10% of the county's GDP.
