There are lovely areas in Liverpool, but like any other town/city there's going to be rough areas or rough patches of estates that are notorious for crime etc Shopping in Liverpool is not dangerous at all, it's quite the opposite, you can do as you please in a nice city that is majority of the time safe :)

@keiran130 - I've been to London and Liverpool for a visit. I can say that Liverpool was far friendlier than London. People from London seemed too scared of their own shadow. Whereas people in Liverpool actually said hello.
Also downtown Liverpool looks far nicer than London. You are right. London is ten times worse. Liverpool is a better city.

@W. 28, i look younger. I dress like im more thier age. Im from Kenny, not Kirkdale aswell, so they didn't know me. It was dark. Where it is, its abit dodgy at night. They where by the cannal, i was walking through the park, next to them. I started hearing the cracks going off and knew.. it wasn't that loud, so i thought they wasn't close.. wasn't till i walked abit further i looked behind me and seen thier silhouettes, looked like two lads. I heard a few more cracks, but i thought i was sweet. Didn't think they were shooting at me, until i heard the bullet go past. Then another. Proper distinctive sound. I froze inside AN WALKED AWAY not ran! Dunno why, ppl who live close wouldn't know. Its common. I've seen so many things like this my whole life, am used to it. Ive got family away from the city who probably wouldn't believe half of it, how would they know.. only the murders get publicized. My neighbours Windows got shot at, few years ago and it wasn't even in the paper. My mate got shot in his leg when we where 16.. all there was about it was a little parra in the Echo on like pg6+. Basically a little kid. They minimise the problem, so do the police. Unless u see it.. most of the country thinks Britain hasn't got a problem, because its not happing there!! Merseyside police official stats i know for a fact aren't even half right. EVERY MAJOR CITY IN THE UK has problems. Here some kids will shoot ye for nothing if they think they wont get caught.

This problem is bigger than the actions of individual police officers: they're just doing what is in their job description. The bureaucracy of politicians having so much influence, combined with the fact that the highest ranking police officers now did beats on a different type of street when they were younger is more the problem. I agree that the police, and Downing Street for that matter, have adopted the wrong strategy, but it is not the fault of the officers whose feet are on the ground.
