@@woodcutta6461 I think that's just a rumor because this was filmed in like january and tour was in march. I think it's more likely that people just assumed they would go on so voted for their second fav to make sure they went forward.

Sony signed them on their soundtrack division, it’s the division where they don’t expect a lot of commercial success. Jokes on them, PTX has sold somewhere near 50 Million albums, and 8 billion views on TH-cam alone.

@@ReactToTheWorld , The show is a set-up. They lost partly because the show is The Masked Singer ( singular) and a group can't win. It's also a publicity stunt for Pentatonix to be on it and gain more notoriety...which they did. But the winner is chosen before the show is ever begun. The show so incredibly and obviously fake that I stopped watching it a couple of years ago during their first season. Their costumes were giant sushi roll pieces and they called themselves The California Rolls.
@@ReactToTheWorld The audience got to vote on who they wanted to move on, and the top 2 vote-getters of the 3 performers left would move on to the finals. The theory is that everyone in the audience thought that the California Rolls (as PTX was known for the show) would advance pretty much automatically because they were by far the best performers left, and so the audience all voted for their 2nd favorite performer, and not enough actually ended up voting for PTX, so they got eliminated. PTX had actually eliminated the eventual winner in an earlier segment of the show, but that performer was literally "saved by the bell" that one of the judges rang to keep them in the competition. While the show is called The Masked Singer, I think (never having watched the show before this because...PTX!) it's fairly rare for the best singer to actually win, because the show turns into a competition for who's got the best sob-story and can get the most sympathy from the audience - and hence the most viewers for the show. It is a business, after all, not truly a competition.

PTX won the third season of The Sing-Off. Home Free won the fourth season of the show and VoicePlay was on that season.

I hate American shows, when they plant actors in the audience, just to get engagement shots. The judges have also seen these guys' rehearsals.
