Really love the Skagen look. I have one of their regular watches and it's great. Was thinking about getting the Falster but like you said there are still some issues with Wear OS and the battery and charging still needs a fix. BTW I knew it you actually a Time agent sent by Daniels, All those Uniforms can't lie. :-p
i am waiting for a future where smartwatches can handle everything without a phone, we have 4g watches but they still require to be connected to a phone just for notifications it's redundant

Been using my Skagen Falster 3 since launch and I'm still in love with the watch. Charge it every night when I go to bed but I charge my phone then too so I'm ok with the battery life.
@@manishmeena4435 it is a very good watch. Put it this way, I have an Apple Watch, a Galaxy Active Watch, a Huawei GT Watch and a Mont Blanc Summit 2 watch, BUT I use the Skegan Falster 3 on a daily basis ahead of the rest.

Man... I have a gear S3... It is okay... Wish the battery was better, and wish it natively supported a better assistant... I got a Galaxy Watch too... A little smoother and supports Bixby... Even water resistant! But I hate that it lost MST... Not sure we get any new MST watches... Makes me upset...
do you remember the moto 360 sport display? I loved it for viewing in the sun. idk if other manufacturers have copied it at all, but if they haven't, its still the best smartwatch display that ever existed.

Nice review Michael. My Fossil Gen4 notifications were out of commission for 2~3 weeks. One day they just up and quit. No amount of rebooting, cache clearing, notification toggle off/on/off/on could fix it. So I put the watch on the charger, and left it there. Came back to it yesterday and it was fine once again. Not sure what happened... but notifications are fine once again. I did get an app update 3-4 days ago, so that might have fixed it. Shrug... thats just the way WearOS is, when it works its great.
We also watched Minority Report last weekend (it popped up on Netflix). Great throwback. And I loved that watch too - so late 90's/early 2000's sci-fi.
I own a Fossil Gen 5. Wear OS has a lot of issues, but it’s good to see that Google is putting a little effort into it. The hand wash timer is nice, and they revamped the fit app’s UI recently. Let’s hope that Google continues to work on Wear OS and fixes some of its annoying bugs.
I'm still happy with my Gear S3 Classic. An easy 2 day battery, great user interface, and good call quality. The speaker is oddly good for music as well. Plus it's a really good looking watch.
I picked up the Falster 2 last month for $99 Canadian. At that price, it was a great replacement for my 1st gen Moto 360. Sure, it doesn't have a speaker, but neither did the 360, so I don't miss it. Even if it would be handy at times. I'd never pay retail for one though. But at under a hundred bucks? Sign me up! Hopefully it gives me a good 4 years like the Moto did.
Mr. Mobile, please compare long lasting smartwatches such as the Amazefit Bip. Mine lasts almost a month or sometimes more between charges. I also like how it doesn't need any backlighting.
I've been using my gear S3 for 4 years now, and sure it no longer lasts 4 days with always on display or 10 without it, but it still lasts 24 hours with always on display, and is snappy as long as you don't fill the storage to the max.
“It runs smoothly most of the time” is not something I want to hear when someone’s talking about a product. I wonder when Wear OS is gonna hit the Google Graveyard
I tried a fossil sport watch and returned it after a couple of weeks. It could barely make it through a day. If you listen to music or do a workout it won’t last 8 hours for sure. I picked up a refurbed Samsung gear sport and It is night and day. I can get over a day and keep always on display and heart rate etc. gps a run and no worries. The OS is smoother and just feels like a more mature product. Wear OS just feels unfinished, I like to tinker but kept thinking it was way too glitchy and the battery really just killed it for me. If I have to turn off most smart features why bother. The build quality wasn’t bad on the fossil but I would be worried about the glass. There is nothing that sits about it to give added Samsung had a nice weight to it and the rotating bezel gives the glass the protection I prefer. I could go on but this was my experience with the products mentioned.
@@JTM0927 The Fossil Sport is a particularly rough example because it lacks the 1GB of RAM necessary for Wear OS to actually run well. The platform is definitely full of issues, but having a gig of RAM really does fix a lot of them.
Have Falster 2 and I love it. It is laggy at boot up but works fine the rest of the day. Like this one but will wait for price reduction. The Skagens are the better looking smart watches out there IMO. Yes, you will load up a dozen watch faces from the Facer app. It's awesome.
I ask myself this question: when’s the last time I’ve seen a smart watch in public that *wasn’t* an Apple Watch? Hell, I’m not sure if I even see many “activity trackers” anymore.
I had a Huawei Band 2 Pro for a year and then the brackets that hold the strap on broke, irreplaceable. So I upgraded to a Fossil Sport at £100. And I'll say, smartwatches just aren't there yet. As much as mine essentially lives on my wrist, I doubt Id pay any more than I already have for one.
@@begonethot4869 I think Apple (and others) tried to sell us on a vision of the smart watch and it just never really lived up to that supposed need. It wasn’t as essential as the smartphone and I doubt it really can be.
Galaxy Watch and Facer user here. I think Facer is an essential for any smartwatch, personally, just because of the overwhelming variety. Also, love the typical cat behaviour, won't come up when you let them but keen to get in the way when you're on the phone haha Give the little house panther some fuss from me
I have been wearing Skagen falster 3 for a couple of weeks and I love it. I think it's the best looking smartwatch. I use smartwatch for notifications and Google pay and this watch has been doing fantastic jobs. I love it's hands wash timer notification, not gimmick for me I am actually using it 🤪.

I liked your original review on the Faster 3 and I like this one too. I have a question, with Google's acquisition of Fitbit and some Fossil tech. Do you see the pixel watch making its debut in 2020? Holding off upgrading my broken, laggy fossil 4 until there is an android wearable that ticks more boxes.
Great review !! BTW Skagens are known for being very thin and lightweight, that is one of their selling points. I'd rather have a watch too light than too heavy.

Is it possible to get a great looking, feature packed, smart watch. With 1 week battery life? I'm using the Huawei GT 2 myself, and im loving the look of Skagen and Citizen smart watches. But hating the hardware that comes with them. I'd love the Citizen crown, Skagen band and Huawei hardware (with harmony os update). That would be the perfect smart watch in my opinion. I bought a skagen falster 3 when it launched, like you said, because I loved the design. Ive worn it every day, and thankfully haven’t had any charging issues, but, about 2 months ago I stopped receiving all notifications, and have not received any since then. Any suggestions on what to do?
I'm curious why you prefer Android over iOS? I'm deep into the Apple ecosystem but the siren song of hardware like this is calling to me. The upcoming Microsoft Duo is especially intriguing.
I request you to look into Huawei Watch GT2 / Honor Magicwatch 2 ....I am using the latter and the battery life is insanely great between 10-14 days in a single charge... and it also has many features including a totally different OS experience by Huawei.

Everytime I see one of these I have the hope WearOS is ready with the right hardware. I've had issues with Samsung watches in the past maybe Google will finally release the rumored Pixel watch this year
Wireless charging takes nearly 2.5 hours for my Gear S3. Also, the heart rate sensor rings are falling off Samsung watches including the Actives. So I’ll gladly take the quick charging pins that take 1 hr to charge.
I was thinking of getting a fossil sport, luckily I went with Galaxy Watch Active. Looking at this review the galaxy Watch Active should be more responsive with its tizen OS, last longer, and won't have any problem with the back falling off.
Great Video as always. Only gripe I have with Facer is that the battery drain is annoying on all 4 of my android Wear watches. Have a fossil carlyle and Casio Protrek HR. Love the faces but had to delete it for this reason. Falster 3 looks a lot like Fossil DNA.

They surely need to work on the google assistant and the finicky connectivity issues that cause random disconnections. I face these issues on my carlyle gen 5 as well.
I really like the design, I have an analog Skagen watch. I don't think I will replace it any time soon, I really like analog watches. I would not mind a reasonably small activity tracker but I really want one with gps, onboard music and some QOL stuff that puts it more in a smartwatch territory and I'm not that much a "baller" to be running around with a massive watch on both wrists. If anyone has a good recommendation, it is very welcomed.

I wish they hadn't gone to a touch bezel. And I've heard that Samsung's optical heartrate sensor is terrible for exercise.

I still use my supper bugged zenwatch 2. Changing songs on my wrist while running walking is the biggest feature i use it for.

Great review !! BTW Skagens are known for being very thin and lightweight, that is one of their selling points. I'd rather have a watch too light than too heavy.
Thanks for the review man, my Falster 3 is out for delivery as I type this. I know there are "better" options available technically, and I was all set to buy an Active 2, or Huawei Watch GT 2... but at the last minute pushed the button on the Falster 3 in Gun metal because it's just too pretty 😁
Is it possible to get a great looking, feature packed, smart watch. With 1 week battery life? I'm using the Huawei GT 2 myself, and im loving the look of Skagen and Citizen smart watches. But hating the hardware that comes with them. I'd love the Citizen crown, Skagen band and Huawei hardware (with harmony os update). That would be the perfect smart watch in my opinion.

I bought a skagen falster 3 when it launched, like you said, because I loved the design. Ive worn it every day, and thankfully haven’t had any charging issues, but, about 2 months ago I stopped receiving all notifications, and have not received any since then. Any suggestions on what to do?

I'm curious why you prefer Android over iOS? I'm deep into the Apple ecosystem but the siren song of hardware like this is calling to me. The upcoming Microsoft Duo is especially intriguing.

I request you to look into Huawei Watch GT2 / Honor Magicwatch 2 ....I am using the latter and the battery life is insanely great between 10-14 days in a single charge... and it also has many features including a totally different OS experience by Huawei.
So the smartwatch to buy right now is the Galaxy Active if you're on Android? I've been looking for an upgrade for my Pebble Time

It's still too much for me to pay more than 100 bucks for a smartwatch, but I'm not the best reference person for it.

Everytime I see one of these I have the hope WearOS is ready with the right hardware. I've had issues with Samsung watches in the past maybe Google will finally release the rumored Pixel watch this year
Wireless charging takes nearly 2.5 hours for my Gear S3. Also, the heart rate sensor rings are falling off Samsung watches including the Actives. So I’ll gladly take the quick charging pins that take 1 hr to charge.
I was thinking of getting a fossil sport, luckily I went with Galaxy Watch Active. Looking at this review the galaxy Watch Active should be more responsive with its tizen OS, last longer, and won't have any problem with the back falling off.
Great Video as always. Only gripe I have with Facer is that the battery drain is annoying on all 4 of my android Wear watches. Have a fossil carlyle and Casio Protrek HR. Love the faces but had to delete it for this reason. Falster 3 looks a lot like Fossil DNA.

Agreed. Two days are doable with AOD enabled, but you have to disable "Raise to wake" for that, which is a bummer.
They surely need to work on the google assistant and the finicky connectivity issues that cause random disconnections. I face these issues on my carlyle gen 5 as well.

I really like the design, I have an analog Skagen watch. I don't think I will replace it any time soon, I really like analog watches. I would not mind a reasonably small activity tracker but I really want one with gps, onboard music and some QOL stuff that puts it more in a smartwatch territory and I'm not that much a "baller" to be running around with a massive watch on both wrists. If anyone has a good recommendation, it is very welcomed.
