It doesn’t really matter what side the switch is run on but in this situation the switch will be protruding into the battery compartment and I didn’t want hot leads being exposed. Now if I accidentally touch the switch terminals with a wrench / metal object it will just get grounded and not arc on me. I also prefer to have the neg side switched to preserve battery life and prevent parasitic drain from grounding when the trucks in storage.
