Videos from the shop, showing some of the things I’ve worked on, destroyed and repaired. Hopefully you find something useful that will save you time & money on your next project. New videos posted every week.
Ford Excursion / F250 - F550 1998-2004 Wheel Bearing Replacement
Update: The thrust washers behind the locking hub were installed incorrectly when I purchased the truck. The plastic nut actually goes between the two metal washers. Not as shown in the video.
Video shows step by step how to replace the front wheel bearings on a 2003 4x4 Ford Excursion. The process will be the same for all 4x4 super duty trucks, F250, F350, F450 and F550 from 1998-2004.
One thing to note when ordering the new bearings is the difference between the coarse and fine thread options. Most pre 2003 trucks will be coarse thread from the factory while 2003 and up will be fine thread. Coarse threads will be 14x2.0 and the fine thread will be 14x1.5. Timken part number - SP580205

Video shows step by step how to replace a rear half shaft on a 1993 M998 military humvee. The truck began clunking when put into gear and while turning which are common signs of a bad cv joint. Both half shafts on the rear of this truck are exactly the same and are not side specific, the front shafts however are unique and are different lengths both left and right. M998 Engine Replacement Part 3 FIRST START!!
Looks like the dry clutch but didn't see you take off the inside clutch cover, might be missing
Running wet/dry clutch plates, no need for the cover or tiny screws for clutch changes.
Still for sale 😂❤
Keeper. Gave up on selling it.
Nice... I have one too. Classic perfection. Suzuki really knocked a home run.
Fantastic video thank you I needed to watch this before I do mine
Glad it helped
I noticed your vin number is strange looking 🤔 are those numbers given by the state for a reconditioned title?
Good eye. Assigned state vin, was like that when I got it.
Best veh7cle ever I have one right now an 04 limited with 345k miles stock heads and some minor upgrades - super clean I got American forces on it it's nice asf My last one i traded away in april🥲 was a 2004 bulletproofed 145k on it with a zf6 manual transmission but was super super rusty Never let me down though I towed thousands of miles with 0 issues in that truck- on one occasion I drove it 21 hours straight without stopping the truck ever (except fuel but i never shut it off lol) towing 7k lbs on a hot tune the whole time Thing still got 14 mpg with the load and never skipped a beat i should never got rid of it
Great work. Question, did you remove the clutch fan pressure line behind the radiator before or after you removed the stack. That line is a pain to get to with stack installed. When you removed the radiator stack in the video it already shows it disconnected. Thanks
Mine had a quick disconnect on it so it was easy to remove, does yours not have that? My fan was also damaged & missing a blade so it was extra easy to get my arm in and disconnect.
@@MotorLeague no mine doesn’t have a quick disconnect, man that would be nice though. I have a fan blade that has a couple stress cracks so I’ll probably replace it since I’ll be down that far anyway. I just know that line is a pain and wasn’t sure how to take stack and shroud off with it in place. I’ll prob have to find a way to remove radiator and coolers first and leave shroud in place to access that line.
Gotcha. You can take the stack off separate to access that hose without removing the shroud. On mine there were small screws with clamping plates on either side that hold the shroud to the bottom of the rad stack. Also a pain to get to.
@@MotorLeague appreciate the help and quick response 👍

i’m 5’7 will i fit on one?
Yup, should be fine.

What price. Of. This machine ❓
Wao❤
nice work, hallo from new zealand
Nothing like the sound of those old iron-heads. A buddy of mine still has his old 1975 Sportster, bought it new.
Sound and the smell. Nothing like it.
Any idea what hardtail is on the bike? Dig the 67’ btw🤙🏼
Hey thanks. No idea who made it. Was on the bike when I bought it in the early 2000’s.
That bike is for gays
Tá demorando muito pra chegar aqui no Brasil essa bruta
Use a couple tire irons. Slip one between the rim and tire towards the end so you don’t have to forcefully shove one in to get the last bite.
I like to practice using two since that’s all I carry on the bike & when I’m not at home. It’s for sure easier with more irons but I’ve been doing it this way for 25 years and it’s what I’ve grown used to.
@@MotorLeague makes sense
This is the guy I want working on my bike. Someone this anal about details. I'm the same way but my mechanical skills on automotive aren't as strong as his are . I'm a commercial/industrial electrician and enjoy doing a real thorough job in my craft, even in areas people will never see again.
How doesnt the exhaust burn your leg?
It has a small carbon fiber heat shield along the header and muffler. Works great.
Следующим летом куплю... 👍🔥
Go for it
I wasn't going to watch the entire video but after 32 years, I couldn't stop. Nice job, nice bike 👍
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Is the engine of the m998 reliable? I have been looking to get one!
Yup, reliable and simple to repair when something does go wrong.
Cool bike
👍
Good 👍
👍
That dry clutch , the people who look in horror , the bloke who says , mate , turn it off turn it off , it'sa 'Bout to throw a rod , and i say , go over there, 50 meters and a when they 30 meters away i rev the gal , and now they hear the motor , sublime, Then i have to explain the " CLACCLE CLUTCH " coz yup , Dry Clutch , but you don't need the clutch much , coming back down is harddr for me now , im deaf , ish
I’ve had that conversation many times. “Whats wrong with it?”
@MotorLeague it seems to me , that they are unaware of it , and I love it , it's part of the whole ,
Agree. Love the mechanical sound of a dry open clutch.
Por estos videos mueren muchos chicos😮
How many?
Nice , doesn’t matter if it’s 87 or 97 it’s basically the same thing and that 87 colors / graphs is one of my favorite ones , bike is in Pennsylvania ?
Yup, located in south east pa.
Great video. Can you tell me where you got your carb rebuild o-ring and diaphragm from? I’m having trouble finding a rebuild kit for my ‘82 fxrs stock carb.
Thanks. J&P Cycles should have it.
Nice moped

Juat bought one in mint condition for 800 bucks needed a carb clean
$800 is a great deal.
I have a 98 turns over won't crank thinking of sellin or trading idk waiting to get a factory carb to assess the situation
If it’s in good condition I’d figure out what’s wrong with it before trading.
@@MotorLeague oh I think it's just the aftermarket carb and a person I don't trust that living on the other side of our property right now putting water in my gas
Hey man sold the 98 to a family member they fixed it found a 95 sitting In my paw paws barn it was his he's letting me have it
@@trevorblade0409 Good deal 👍
Thanks for the video, I followed along on this one and the stearing stem video.
What are you asking for it ?
$3200
It's a Beast !
Can I just rent it for a weekend lol
It's cool to see a fellow Pennsylvanian on here. You are doing an awesome job showing the repairs. I don't know what those VIN numbers are from but, their not Harley Davidson 😢
Good eye. That’s an assigned vin from the state.
My Dad bought a 98 450 brand new when it came out. He still owns it today. It's been involved in everything from hunting, house renovation, property/farm work, other people's property/farm work, pulling other vehicles, pulling trailers, trail riding, it's done it all. The only things he's done to it was, change batteries, tires, breaks, and re-weld the baffles... that's it. Most reliable damn fourwheelers ever made.
Thats been the life of this one as well, right down to welding the stock baffle back together. Love that it has a pull start for when the battery decides to take a dump, usually right before a snow storm. Insanely reliable and built like tanks compared to the newer models.
@@MotorLeague I heard that. As far as cosmetics go, it's my favorite looking fourwheeler too lol
How’s the reliability?
If you maintain it properly they are super reliable. Neglect it and you’ll have problems just like most high performance machines.
That potato sound is magical!! 😎
Sweet! The 995 is a torque monster.
Nice find. Always did like the sound of the Sportster. I really like the soft background guitar picking music. Not too loud, just right and mellow. Ride the wheels off of her.
Oh' 👀 butyvoll!.
Why’s it sound like it’s knocking?
It has a open dry clutch. Sound is normal.
The dry clutch!!!❤
Bingo
Is that tapping lifter tick? Mine does the same thing
Not sure what you’re hearing, truck sounds normal for the mods it has. What oil are you running and is your truck stock?
@@MotorLeague 15-40. It’s bone stock except for studs
@@MotorLeaguenice excursion by the way, my buddy and I are getting ready to convert his 2wd 7.3 to 4x4. Will probably post some videos..
Nice. That’s a project worth doing right there. Good luck with it.
Have one of these little turds lol it just won’t die
It’s a Honda of course it won’t die
How many times has the engine been replaced or rebuilt???
Never rebuilt or replaced, truck only has 176k on it. It was taken apart to be studded and “bullet proofed” as preventative maintenance and to avoid common issues with the 6.0.
@@MotorLeague Well stay up on your oil changes, watch your EGT's, & don't roll coal so it'll last a lil bit more.
