These guys are great! In 1959 I lost my Mercersburg (Pa) Academy class gold signet ring while lifeguarding on the beach at Greenwich Point in Connecticut. 58 years later they found it with my initials and class, contacted the academy who matched my initials with my class. The academy contacted me and I contacted them. Ring came home with nothing asked in return. They just liked to see me happy. Will supply a photo of my smiling face complete with ring. These guys are for real, and much appreciated.
Alicia Mersdorf You are absolutely stunning, and you remind me of my sweet grandmother! And I must say that you are incredibly sexy… I am hungry and need my granny to breast-feed me so I don’t starve..
Wow Tom, I have never seen you pull so many rings in one day before. A huge congrats. And thanks for calling up the other night. I learned some stuff and had fun too. BOL, Mike.
Great job on the gold rings Tom..Wow🙌👏🙌 Another great river hunt. 😉Just catching up on commenting after my salmon fishing trip. Way to Go on the AMAZING FINDS😃
Thank you johnny , hope you got a freezer full of salmon ! Be tuned in for an amazing river discovery that I will be uploading sometime soon !! not sure when yet but probably after a few videos from this site ..
Love how you give back the rings you find the owners for. Honesty....just won u another subscriber! I’d love finding anything old and thinking of the history of it.
Just saw this video and I will try and follow you from now on. Yes, the gold and silver rings are nice. What I like is that lead soldier that some kid lost while playing.
No bad lighting at all. I could see everything very clearly. Congrats on your haul and continued success in keeping your locations secret. I wish you well, gentlemen.
When I detect I enjoy everything I find including the junk lol it's the anticipation of what will it be then I wonder how it got where I found it. Great video!
Cool finds! I hate when people do that hog ur area because u found a ring. I've had people try to swing in my spot right next to me. I always fill my holes and take the dug trash with me💜✌
You're kicking ass again this year Tom. I can't remember the last time you got skunked. ( door knocking doesn't count ) Best of luck Saturday at your new spot. I hope it pans out for you. And remember, keep an eye on the rear view mirror. Make sure you're not being tailed. LOL
Wow amazing finds from a swimming hole. Definitely going to check out locations like that where i am. Great channel too so I've subscribed and clicked the bell to see more so please keep your detecting videos flowing. I will understand if your videos are just of water. I have the same problem here people always following me and don't care about history and just want the gold. Good luck on your next trip out. Scuba Guy
You do a great job doing these videos I really respect your method compared to some who blab on and on about stupid stuff. We understand that you are not Stephen Spielberg. You tape what is important and that is what we want to see.
Really sweet finds😎😎😎😎. The lighting wasn’t great but I did enjoy the video. I really like how you show the cleaned rings. And the weights to boot. 👍👍👍
Sorry, but have fallen behind watching vids with hunting season so I'm playing your marathon today! Great dig, love the rings and especially the lead soldier! Awesome, sorry to hear about the leaches cuz it would be great to see the before and after pics and hear the history from your sites! Understand totally about the disclosure however, same situation in my area concerning Civil War sites! Thanks for sharing and HH
Thanks , yea I noticed all your comments ..You been busy watching some videos !! I would love to find anything civil war related. We don't have that type of history here unfortunately..Some time this spring or fall I need to take a trip south and try to get onto some sites that had activity ..
Thanks for sharing. And you don’t let those duds catch up to you. The video came out good. I watch on my 45 in. Samsung through my Roku device, and I cannot comment. But this time I thought I should reach out. So I found your video on my IPod and commented. Good luck on your next hunt. I’m thinking about getting myself a medal detecter soon.
Hello could you give me some tips on how to locate old swimming holes? Like how do you go about searching for them, I live in Massachusetts. Thanks for any useful tips. Great video!
Nice finds for three hours! It took me a year to find a ring and it was a cheap mood ring. I know a spot in a river here in Florida but in that area is a crap load of gators. I will wait for a good drought before i try it.
Anywhere there were people in the water , there will be lost rings , its just a matter of finding the spots and hitting them first before everyone else does .. a lot of these sites I do are virgin and hard to locate on the internet so we were very lucky
That fact that you first picked up the toy soldier after saying you care about the history before the value kinda sealed it for me. Cool man. I'm from Southern Illinois near Stl and I love reading my local history.
Fantastic finds on the rings, SWEET! you really knocked it out of the park on gold WOW! Great swimming hole, we have one of those right in the middle of the park, it go's all the way back when the Cherokee camped there, Its original name was 9 mile pond, I would love to metal detect this pond but there is a big sign that says NO wading or swimming. Many have found coins, jewelry and relics. I have detected all around it found a few Wheaties and loads of clad. It produced clad every week because so many come there with their kids to walk, run and play around the pond.
I am 69, English, living in Bulgaria. many years ago I bought my first metal detector, they have improved since then. When I was detecting, I did all the leg and map work. I read the history in the area I lived, and used this to find stuff. After watching many vids on the History channel and on here, I have decided to take it up again. I live in a small village with a lot of history. I am surrounded by streams and a great lake, also mountains, small ones. A Turkish friend pans for gold in the streams and has had some success. Panning is not my thing, detecting is. I bought myself a quad bike to take me to the most difficult places. Tombs of kings have been discovered here with his treasures,,gold etc. I am looking forward to doing my research and getting out there.
Nice saves and congratulations on finding another productive site. One idea is you can show the site in a later full video with historical context after you have pounded it to death and are satisfied that it's not producing anymore. No rules as to when you post stuff. You could even mess with the claim jumpers by posting the full video first even though you already cleaned it out. GL and HH!!
Thanks , last year I did a wrap up at a site that had nothing in it and had the street sign in the background just to throw them off. This time I waited to upload until it got quiet. If they figure it out and find something I missed , then good for them ! Im just glad me and dan got most of it ...
Great video and finds. I've taken a friend to a couple of my oldest spots where a lot of large cents have been found and now he goes back time and time again with his buddy. Needless to say I learned a hard lesson. Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks , I have a group that we all share sites with as long as everyone does their own share of leg work and research. I rather have one of the guys I detect with make the finds who will appreciate the history of the things instead of one of the Chicago club guys who would end up selling them off or not care about the other things except for the gold..
Awesome hunt for Dan and yourself. I do know about Poaching .. lol Dr No and I have been able to keep the location of our Honey Hole a secret for almost three years now. I was once sent a two second clip that a fellow digger picked out of one of my videos of a building on the property we detect. Funny thing was, they still could not figure out where the building actually was. LOL ps, I want to send you a letter you might need some day, here it is. U
LOl , yea unfortunately when you find gold rings it brings everyone out of the woodwork like roaches...Never had this problem when I found a park honey hole with coins
What a great way to slay a bunch of sponges that don’t want to do the work for themselves. What a phenomenal idea. I have an old swimming hole on my property in Missouri so thanks so much for this video. Do you have a suggestion for a good water/sand detector? I’m new to this. Awesome work!
If it was a popular spot than theres going to be gold rings and coins ...the at pro is a good beginner detector for the price . and its waterproof so its hard to beat for the price ..
hiluxyota Thanks man, appreciate the suggestion. What a shame you have to edit yourself due to JOs. Anyway, two creeks intersect to create this swimming hole, was very busy years ago but people fortunately go to the conservation area now. I will try your suggestion, thanks.
If there was a lot of people in it each year theres going to be old gold and silver for sure .. Gold is all over the board on any machine , so dig everything in there , even the iron because there could be a ring under it ...
hiluxyota no kidding? I never thought about doing this but looking like this would be a blast. I don’t have a clue what I’m doing at this point but hopefully I’ll find something. Thanks for your help man, I’ll let you know if I get something cool out there. Actually the property is the location where a small civil war battle took place. The troops fought and were amassed right on the hay field. My neighbor unearthed a musket so really can’t wait to get our there. Thanks again man.
If you watched some of my other videos , we found a spot that was full of gold and silver , we were pulling out close to 5 gold rings each almost every time we went out along with many silver coins and old nickels, That was the site where someone noticed a land mark and people started helping themselves , I even did a wrap up at a different location that wasn't a swimming hole just to get the street sign in the background to throw others off ! We don't have civil war history here in Illinois , at least where I'm at besides a few prisoner camp sites that's off limits to detect. Civil war relic hunting is definitely what i want to get into sometime in the future when i get the chance once i locate some sites outside of Illinois , But old swimming holes are definitely productive because not a lot of people will hunt them or do the research to locate them which will almost always make them virgin sites . most people will just detect local beaches and not realize that rivers and creeks in certain areas were popular swimming parks and sites ..
Thanks , unfortunately TH-cam will place one of these videos where I will get over 50 k views , and that's when the people who don't detect or ones that just troll will start coming out of the woodwork with nothing but negative comments !! And I really don't expect those types to understand the difference in real finds vs. fake ones.. Theres only a couple channels on youtube that search these old swimming sites and make finds like I do and one of them is detector comparisons , and Jimmy maya .I have detected all over in the Joliet area as well..
Awesome finds. I have been researching swimming holes in my area for so long now with very little luck. They all used to be ditches that are now filled in. You seem to be on a good site there. 👍
Thanks , there are sites like these in almost every town .. some are just harder to find and locate than others. I checked 3 possible sites before dan found this one with no luck , not even a wheat cent .
Hey love the video. I specialize in jewelry like this, you have some nice pieces there. Make sure to do plenty of research on that stuff, even the rusty costume ones are worth something on ebay. The big FCK ring is amazing, love the monogram. Get a pretty penny for that one if you haven't sold it yet. The nice 20s class ring is worth a decent bit as I'm sure you know. Really enjoyed, thanks.
Remember only 24K gold stays gold in chemicals in water. To make 10/12/14.... other versions and Red ... gold one adds copper or silver or various other metals. They change the color as they corrode or erode away. at 11:36 is a pin with 8 stars - in the center looks like an interlaced monogram SAM or ASM ... interesting - unusual pattern perhaps a flower petal double set of 4 petals. Hope that helps.
Totally agree. Ive check the history of the places ive went to but it could been flooded over the years etc. I live in the area of branson missouri Tons of history many possible sites . I got an old pioneer home back in the woods to go check as well as wooded trails going pioneer cemeteries. I wanted to check the surfaces of the old hidden cemeteries but did know if i should possible ? coins being dropped etc. If you get a chance check out this area
checking grave sites is frowned upon by detectorists !! you wouldn't want to or have anyone see you in a cemetery with a detector.. but the woods definitely sounds like a good site. I try to put myself where a lot of people have been in certain areas 100 years or more , because the chances of finding things are much greater . that pioneer home would be a perfect place to start..
It all depends on what the gold was alloyed with by the maker. Sure the silver and copper metals will tarnish when exposed to air or chemicals in the water. But the percentage of gold is what it says on the object. Love your videos and the finds you discover. And to he--- with the poachers. Oh the rings will polish up fine with roughe and a rag wheel! But you knew that! HH
Just insane Tom. You've dug more gold and silver rings than most of us will dig in a lifetime. So what club was it again? Just kidding. 4 times a charm.... awesome video Tom.
Thanks guys , I have to stay a step ahead of those guys. even to the point I have to take the gf vehicle to some of the spots so they don't think im in any of the obvious sites
That was a very productive hunt brother . I can't figure out how so many gold rings were lost in such shallow water ? I dig a lot of Roman stuff but the other day I discovered a small lake where a lot of people swim . I'm a diver also so guess where I will be hunting around the end of Sept ?
I live in the north east, Connecticut, lots of old swimming holes, nice secret places. I want to get s metal detector and search these places. Old property dividing walls in the middle of the woods. Old farm land, and we have the sh ok shore line to hunt too.
Theres old swimming sites all over , not many people detect them because some are hard to find which makes them virgin sites.. I detected in your area the past few springs and done pretty well at some of the cellar holes . have those hunts on youtube as well ..
These guys are great! In 1959 I lost my Mercersburg (Pa) Academy class gold signet ring while lifeguarding on the beach at Greenwich Point in Connecticut. 58 years later they found it with my initials and class, contacted the academy who matched my initials with my class. These guys are for real, and much appreciated.
Im in the process of returning a class ring from 1926 that was found at this site.. will have a video of it soon
Ross Lenhart that’s so cool! glad you found a reminiscent piece from your youth💓 after all those years you definitely deserved it
Man that’s great, they just earned a new subscriber..!👍🏼
Your family must be loaded. $$
Thats great wow
It is so nice to see you young folks having fun! Ignore the mean people. You get to be you; they have to be them.
Alicia Mersdorf That’s a very kind and sweet younger lady! May God bless you… Beautiful sweetheart!
Alicia Mersdorf You are absolutely stunning, and you remind me of my sweet grandmother! And I must say that you are incredibly sexy… I am hungry and need my granny to breast-feed me so I don’t starve..
Another prosperous hunt and great video Tom!!! Always enjoy! 👍👍👍👍👍
Fun watching, thank you for sharing.
Wow Tom, I have never seen you pull so many rings in one day before. A huge congrats. And thanks for calling up the other night. I learned some stuff and had fun too. BOL, Mike.
Congrats on all the Great finds, enjoyed the video.
Keep up the good work. This is the first time I have seen your video. I love it!!

You are so calm about finding gold I would absolutely freak out if I found a singular ring
Huge congrats on those great finds. Love the video, thanks!
Awesome finds. Hoping to find time this year to also go to some old swimming holes. Thanks for sharing.
Love how you give back the rings you find the owners for. Honesty....just won u another subscriber! I’d love finding anything old and thinking of the history of it.
My first time viewing and I like your style and integrity.
Glad to see there is still people loving the fact of finding lost history and not just leaches for the money. Keep up the great adventures.
In all things we hunt the value is not measured materially 😎🐱👽
Just saw this video and I will try and follow you from now on. Yes, the gold and silver rings are nice. What I like is that lead soldier that some kid lost while playing.
Excellent hunt. I really enjoy your sarcastic humor, I am the same way. I will look for the followup hunt. Good luck!
when it's black , it's sterling silver.....when you see B on a gold ring , it means BULLION,...the gold is more pure
Looks like a good day. Enjoyed watching.
No bad lighting at all. I could see everything very clearly. Congrats on your haul and continued success in keeping your locations secret. I wish you well, gentlemen.
Your video quality is just fine and I wish you could show and tell the history it adds so much to the finds. Love the soldier toy :)
I just started watching you videos; very interesting. Look forward to much more.
Signet city!! Super gold day Tom...congrats!!
As always great finds.
I love the short and sweet version! Nice finds, the lead soldier was the best part, but really enjoyed your video.
What is the spot the Bermuda Triangle for rings? One thing I learned, never wear jewelry when swimming.
Gotta love those signet rings, especially when they come out as a honker!
Thank you for sharing your time with all of us 💗. Don't worry about what anyone says 😉
I enjoy your adventures. Super finds
When I detect I enjoy everything I find including the junk lol it's the anticipation of what will it be then I wonder how it got where I found it. Great video!
I think your videos are great just wanted to encourage you and say thank you
Cool finds! I hate when people do that hog ur area because u found a ring. I've had people try to swing in my spot right next to me. I always fill my holes and take the dug trash with me💜✌
Glad to see you doing so well. I am just starting out retirement hobby. I really enjoy the video
Awesome! Glad your keeping the location on the down low.
The gold doesn't tarnish, but the metals that it's alloyed with do. Great finds!
Great hunt...don't let the turds get you down, decency always prevails.
Congrats on the finds and great mounts on the wall
Thanks for watching
You're kicking ass again this year Tom. I can't remember the last time you got skunked. ( door knocking doesn't count )
Best of luck Saturday at your new spot. I hope it pans out for you.
And remember, keep an eye on the rear view mirror. Make sure you're not being tailed. LOL
Those guys are catching on to those sites up that way .. When I start going the opposite way , they wont have a clue...
Nice findings, good vid.
Really amazing !! Keep @ it and HH !!
Hell yea Tom! love when a new video gets posted from you. Awesome saves, and watch your 6:00 ; )
Lol , thanks . I try to , getting to the point that I have to take the gf vehicle at times !
Scuba Guy
Absolutely killer hunt. Unbelievable site. Congrats.
You do a great job doing these videos I really respect your method compared to some who blab on and on about stupid stuff. We understand that you are not Stephen Spielberg. You tape what is important and that is what we want to see.
Awesome video! Thank you.
Thank you I enjoyed this very much!
Really sweet finds😎😎😎😎. The lighting wasn’t great but I did enjoy the video. I really like how you show the cleaned rings. And the weights to boot. 👍👍👍
If that lead toy soldier has a USMC emblem the front of his hat..I'll buy it...I'm a former Marine...
Fascinating what others leave behind
Nice finds ! Good vid !
Nice hunt. Great editing. Thanks.
I’m thinking about getting myself a medal detecter soon.
keep your cards close to your vest you might say! Nice hunt buddy!
Great finds keep up the great work.
Good for you! I've never seen so many hateful comments in my life.
Thanks for the encouragement. I want to add a new hobby to my life.
Great hunt amazing finds

My freaky thoughts exactly!

Outlaw Digging..... get a wooden row boat hunt from it without getting out. It can be done, I know.
Awesome finds!
I love that comic book ring! Coolest thing I’ve seen!
That buffalo nickel is beautiful! I’ve never found one that is still silver in color
wau, super nice, congrats friend ... :)
Awesome! Respect for wanting to keep it on the down low. Great video
The bands often split where they have been sized.
It looks like all 262 members of the Chicago Poaching Club disliked your video lol great finds! Just subscribed

What a great way to slay a bunch of sponges that don’t want to do the work for themselves. What a phenomenal idea. I have an old swimming hole on my property in Missouri so thanks so much for this video. Do you have a suggestion for a good water/sand detector? I’m new to this. Awesome work!

Wow love those old rings and wish I could do that I had a metal detector at one point but I didn't know at the time how to use it and gave up on it.
I like this dude straight forward no nonsense or theatrics. Good filming for what he got. Sucks ya can’t get into history because that’s half the fun
You do a great job. I believe in what you say. I hunt on the southside near Joliet. Great job. Thanks.
Thanks , unfortunately TH-cam will place one of these videos where I will get over 50 k views , and that's when the people who don't detect or ones that just troll will start coming out of the woodwork with nothing but negative comments !! You missed a huge class ring right under the first gold ring you found. Between 33 and 35 seconds into video. Go get it.
Robert McDonald I saw it too.
At :31seconds the class ring your talking about is positioned at the 8:00 o'clock hour if his finger was pointing to the noon mark . Good eye
hahahah dirty finger!!! I remember years ago when I could dig all day having the same dirty fingers!! enjoy tracing history ..I love it
Awesome finds. I have been researching swimming holes in my area for so long now with very little luck. They all used to be ditches that are now filled in. You seem to be on a good site there. 👍

checking grave sites is frowned upon by detectorists !! you wouldn't want to or have anyone see you in a cemetery with a detector.. but the woods definitely sounds like a good site.
Thanks guys , I have to stay a step ahead of those guys. even to the point I have to take the gf vehicle to some of the spots so they don't think im in any of the obvious sites
great hunt man really cool video too what kind of machine r u using.
Great video man really appreciate your hobby and I love jewelry a lot and that lead soldier was fabulous keep it up dude
wow, epic hunt man! Cant wait to hit some swimming spots this summer
