That is a beautiful gold coin, I have heard of $10 and $20 gold pieces but have never seen one. Nothing can compare to the coins they had back then that was when America was blessed.

The main reason is because the locals started helping themselves a couple years back when we found a virgin site that was loaded , so I don't show the surroundings or landmarks anymore.. Gold brings everyoine out from the woodwork trying to figure out where im finding this stuff..
The filigree ring is 18K. The top and bottom of the mark are beyond the ring shank and you only get the middle of the stamp. The signet ring is 10K. Nice finds.

Never get a coin graded it's a waste of money. The chances of you getting your money back on a graded coin is next to nothing. Most coin shops won't even sell coins that are in those plastic holders because they fear you might try selling it back to them one day.

I know this video is old but as a Coin collector that $10 gold piece is near mint rim edge and hair not tarnished to bad, BUT STOP PLAYING WITH IT only grab Edge dont keep rubbing its surface. A Proof coin is worth $40,000 this one is close until it gets rubed to hard.Also Have to think how hard this hurt someone in late 1898-1900 to loose this it was alot of money like loosing $500 today

I dreamed years ago I went metal detecting with my daughter at a park I am convinced there are gold coins . Anyways, my dream was My daughter found my gold coin and She asked me to look at it. I quickly pocketed it saying it was nothing. In reality I would have been sad I didnt find it but I wouldnt do that if she did find my gold coin. I have been searching that site for years, I would have found it by now. I did find several old 1860's coins so they are there, the area is really trashy in places but being its historic, I dig everything.

Dude that thing is in perfect condition surprisingly it’s worth bank the age of it OMG THAT IS THE BEST LOOKING ONE I HAVE SEEN IT IS ABSOLUTELY RARE AS WELL TOO TEN DOLLAR COINS WERE LESS COMMON THAN TWENTY DOLLAR COINS I DEFINITELY WOULD GET IT AUTHENTICATED & APPRAISED
Wow how great, fair play to you :). A lot of the Older Rings that are very valuable today did not have any Markings, the Marking process only became statutory from 1906 in the US. Also Rings or other items made from more than one metal must have the dominant metal stamped only. This sometimes means no hallmark at all, e.g. if the ring is 3/4 titanium and 1/4 platinum. ... Items under certain weights don't require hallmarks. Those weights are 0.5g for platinum, 1g for gold, and 7.78g for silver. Good Luck on finding lots more lovely items.

1898 $10 gold eagle in the condition shown (min. XF-40, possibly AU-50) guides for $675-700. Even in VF-20, it lists for $650. Well done. 👍🙌
