Loser is one of the most deepest songs in K-Pop. And BIGBANG makes all of their music themselves and every member kind of shares their own story.
The first guy, G-Dragon (who's walking alone on the road), talks about the harsh reality of being a celebrity.
He talks about being alone, even though he has everything one could ask for and he feels like no one actually cares for him, other than his celebrity.
The second guy, Taeyang (with the red jacket), has faith issues in his life. He talks about finding meaning and purpose and some help in his life ("| extend my hand but no one grabs it"). In the end, he loses his battle with religion and commits suicide, by jumping off the building.
The third guy, Seungri (the one with the blonde hair), desperately likes a girl (either it's his ex or someone he knew), but she completely ignores him while he sees her walking with another guy. He lashes out in anger and frustration, throwing and breaking stuff in his home. In the end, he confronts the girl, but she rejects him completely.
The fourth guy, T.O.P (the one having an affair with the woman) is shown to be a womanizer and is obsessed by his materialistic possessions. He views women only as a source of pleasure ("love them for one night... ") and hates himself for this addiction. When the woman starts to touch his precious possessions, he loses control and then starts to hurt her. He is then shown walking alone in an alley covered in dry blood (he killed her). In the end, he realizes what he's actually done and he falls to the ground with remorse.
The fifth guy, Daesung (the one getting his ass beaten) is shown to be someone who's bullied alot, to the point where his confidence has completely shattered and he's even scared of showing his eyes to people. He is shown standing in front of the mirror and crying and feeling pathetic. In the end, he tries to confront the bullies as a last attempt to stand up for himself, but gets beaten yet again and is dragged and left for good on the road.
So many people relate to this song in their own ways and that's what makes this piece so special.
Bigbang music is very relatable. Loser gave people a little shock . Because one has the tendency to think idols who are so famous , rich , etc must be happy . People were like OMG , ever artists that are so successful can feel like losers sometimes . It just reminded everyone that idols are humans too. Bigbang is not just party songs , their music express all emotions . Those who dont dig deeper into their music are missing out . Highly recommend to see a lyric video of Still Alive . No live unfortunately but is a song that brings to light the hard part of being an idol , of living in front of the camera , to be judged by everyone.
I love Bigbang lyrics because they feel like real humans? Like there is space for corporate written fun meaningless bops to dance to but it feels like too much sometimes in the K-pop sphere and so I keep coming back to Bigbang for some humanity.

But to be fair, its true that he didnt say a specific date when he will release songs, only said within this year. So he still have 3 months chance. big bang has two of the greatest rappers seen on kpop , they provided the blueprint for most modern trends that groups nowadays follow , Big Bang are known as "your idols idol" . In fact most kpop idols are mega fans of bigbang. Defo a group to check out
"when will gdragon will come up with new music" "I keep hearing about it" as a VIP (bigbang fandom name) honestly same 😂 it's been 7 years, every year since he was discharged from military there had been countless of rumors and articles about him releasing new music but nothing has been realized. at this point VIPs no longer believe any news about it until there's an official teaser released 😂😂

Fan culture wasn’t too different then too. Intimacy n honest lyrics wasn’t normal in K-pop then too. Just that YG artist didn’t care. So they didn’t have a fandom that was ultra sensitive about this kinda of things. They just protested when music was bad! Lol. Big bang had openly said if you have a problem with us, we don’t care n you can go listen to others.
I have watched most of your YG artist reaction, hope you make one for Winner and iKon too. You might see the big difference within YG artist and other idols. They are rather called artist for me than idols.

To be honest, I did cried when this song first came out. Back then, at school, listening to just any songs, metal, rock, rap, kpop, but this song actually got me. Man... Listen to this song today, actually reminds me of those days with friends in school. We're stupid yo... We did. 🥲 But everything now is just a memory. We're a loser back then, and still is today.

KOREANS cannot be free in their actions. The rules in their country are so draconian. Artist make their MV (Music Videos) outside of Korea alot of times depending on who is making the MV, producing and where..... BIG BANG members are Actors also. TOP has been in several movies. But they are not afraid to push the envelope when it comes to matters of issues and more. Mental health being one of them and feeling ike a Loser. For someone that is perceive to have everything. They always give us something more in their songs than just poppy music.. their songs all have an emotional feel that resonates. Whether it's the vocals, pictures,dress, style, musical tempo, you name it. They cover all the basses. Lastly, all their songs are HITS. You should check out their earlier work and their influences. Something totally different like, *Fool of Tears* original MV and then a LIVE version. The MTV music video Awards version is great. They won Best Worldwide Artists... 2011. Beat that.

They wrote this song after one of their concert. They thought they were such a loser that they were sitting quietly in the room instead of having a crazy and wild party like most people would expect them to have.
Fell in love with this song when I was in my 8th grade. Tho I always skip this song whenever I'm on my monthly period. This song + my emotional ass? Def not a good combo. The lyrics is just way depressing and way way relatable for me. I still love it tho😂🤍
