- Parabellum Crossbow Homemade. Hello, friends! Today, I decided to amaze you once again. I managed to combine the incompatible and created a unique parabellum crossbow. For its construction, I used the traditional materials of aluminum and wood. To give the crossbow an astonishing appearance, I crafted handle inlays from valuable wood species.
The main work was done on the lathe, but I also had to put in a lot of manual labor using files and a Dremel tool. This crossbow surpassed all my expectations. The tests were also very satisfying, as it turned out to be one of the most powerful and accurate crossbows in my collection.

That was amazing to watch. The metalworking and lathe work remind me of my apprenticeship. The trigger mechanism was very clever. The thing i liked to most was the use of magnets to hold the paper templates to the metal.. I have never seen that in all my 77 years. Thank you

Yes there are some interesting moments. In TIg welding its very difficult to weld steel to steel if it held in place by a magnet. The Arc wanders. I use magnet to hold items in place when using my Laser. Uyou can alter Light energy. I use a magnet to make rotary jigs holding Stainless Steel work pieces. All are seen through a microscope.

That is such a cool look and more effective than I imagined it would be. A mid barrel bow is a new thing, interesting, though you could have more power with a longer pull stroke if the bow were at the end of the barrel, but then it would also have to be wider. If you made this bow a little thicker it would be so strong you could barely pull it back but also more lethal. Good job.

Police are never the good guys in tyranny, but they will do whatever whomever signs their paychecks tell them to do. All that is wrong with the world, the government did this.
While that would be fairly accurate, why would you wanna carry it, in the first place? There is a right way and a wrong (stupid) way to do things. In my opinion, things like this, are nothing but a novelty. However, there are people out there, who would try to carry one, and if not get shot by a criminal, yes, would probably get shot by a cop... Why? Because, if you're caught with something like that, they would think that you're either a criminal or nuts?
In korea, even having that is a felony

Beautiful work but looks more like a Ruger Mk I than a Parabellum to me. Also, needs something like a leaf spring to keep the bolt from falling out of the barrel before firing.

I have been doing that by hand all the time, but what you shown here is what im gonna do on my next project.
Btw... i see you drill a lot of holes and then use a handtool to cut the slot.
Would it not have been easier to use a grinder set up in some jig and clamping the barrel in some jig?
Like a table saw kinda setup.
And i would have used a top plate ontop of the springs and then drive in the screws that hold the springs.
Now it is just a screw head which holds the spring in place.
I would think that that might create a point that is weaker than having it be supported by a top plate.
