My husband does the same thing & this has happened to him so many times! He ordered lunch this way and they threw it out when he didn’t answer. When he came up & asked why his order was taking so long they suddenly realized what they did & had to remake it for him. Then he was stressed out because he was late getting back to work. Plus the lady that was calling out the orders had the audacity to be angry with him
I had a lot of issues during covid bc i couldn't even lip read. So i had people screaming, telling me to listen harder, and even saying " you don't look deaf"... What does deaf look like? Sometimes i feel embarrassed but honestly they should do better, not me.
@lashallcarter1321 well the drink itself tastes like whatever tea/milk tea flavour you picked, and there are a lot of toppings but if you pick tapioca pearls they don't taste of too much, they are chewy and slightly sweet and starchy
People can be absolutely stupid. I have tried different ways to let people know I literally can't hear them and it all seems to just go right over their heads. And then they have the audacity to get mad at me when I don't hear them.
Ok but people really put the craziest stuff as their name sometimes just for laughs. Please just let us know you cant hear 😭 we're more than happy to accommodate you.
I’ve had cashiers telling me they don’t need my name so when I read my receipt they’ve used the color and what I’m wearing. And someone showed me their receipt and I saw it was read “uh” as their name. 🤦🏽♀️
Ive done this before. I was SO embarrassed. You just go into auto mode and scream out whatever is written down without thinking. I probably yelled it 3 or 4 times before another customer was like, uh girrrl?! 😅
I read hundreds of doctors and patients' names in medical records all day long...I would not hesitate for one single second to believe someone's name was "Deaf". Maybe try "Deaf Customer" or "I'm Deaf".
Try having something on your cup that is not supposed to be for the barista but instead for the other people. So this technique works best when there are other customers in the room. Write something like this > I am a drink, my owner is deaf. Can everyone in the room please point to the barista so my owner knows?
If English is not their first language, they may not have understood.... but what a funny story!! Im sure the person felt embarrassed afterward 😅 Well now they will know for next time!
I have to say it's better to go to the counter. I had a deaf family come into Wendy's and order. Fortunately I do understand enough ASL. She told me what name to put on the order and when their food was done I waved them down. I don't think the employees can just look around and see who is deaf
I stopped trying to make sense of people’s names as celebrities have tried waaaay too hard to be unique. That said, I probably would t have registered it either. And btw I’m deaf in my right ear, and slowly losing it in my left.
First name "I'm" last name "Deaf" 😅❤

Oh goodness. Do you ever wonder how people do adulting?
Thanks for the video!👍🏻

People who have the audacity to say what a disability looks like always angers me a little bit no matter what the disability is.
This one is the most funny I ever heard of in long time!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
lol I have never seen that before.. I just go up to the window and order. I love love love Boba!
What does it taste like?🤔

I like the voice over better than the previous one
Try putting “I’m deaf” that may register with their mind faster.

You remind me of myself sometimes with my EC teacher because I turn my hearing ads off on her so I won’t hear her and I look away from her.
This made my day

hahaha
how about writing, "I am deaf? Please look for me."
Word limit issue
lol oh man 😅

Tgis is exactly how its supposed to be typed in he was missing " person or customer" after deaf

You could write “do not call out name- my ears are broken”
Or
“I am a guy with grey sweater and wear black glasses. Wave at me - I am Deaf.”
Theres not enough room to write a short biography
Maybe go with: "Deaf (grey sweater, glasses)", then?
Haha that’s hilarious 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂

I did the same
Oh, hopefully, the person was just having a brain fart.
😂
Common sense is not very common 🤦🏻♀️
