  • Plant-based "meats" are hailed as healthier and more environmentally-friendly than traditional meat. But are they really going to replace the meat we’ll be eating in the future?

    Costs for consumers to purchase veggie burgers are way too high for it to be considered as an alternative. Maybe when the lifecycle matures, and costs go down then people will be more interested.

    The problem with plant-based, it's just a matter of time it will have rubbish ingredients infused for economical gain. Will the restaurant be transparent on their products? How we as a customer will know what's truly inside?

    what i noticed from this is how they don't really ask why people don't go for the plant based meat and the health concerns other than the nutrition. i'm sure a lot of people would make the jump if possible, however a lot of plant-based meat use ingredients that many people are allergic to. soy is a pretty big allergen, for example, and it's one of the most common protein to build plant meat.

      @@crystal8537 Fake in what sense though. It's all plant ingredients... it never masquerades as meat. It's a reasonable alternative to meat without having to give up the taste of meat.

    • @crystal8537
      @crystal8537 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@emptyangel thats fake! Why would they want to use plants to make meat? Meat comes from animals. Plant based meat dosent exists in the very first place bc its not from animals. Like how some vegetarians stores sell mock meat and fish. Thats fake. Even the caption says "meat". And it will never ever taste like real meat. Its like a girl trying to dress like a male and calling themself a boy or counterfeit goods copying a branded good logo e.g. adidas and calling it adidas shirt. Same logic.

    As a person in food distribution and logistics I can tell you nobody is buying this stuff, 2 years ago we had a dozen products like this now we're down to four, theyre not moving either. It's the most processed food on the market and it's prime consumer is looking for the opposite of processed.

    Pls stop the misconception that plantbased meat is for health. Do people eat beef patty for health? Do people eat chicken chop for health? It is simply a treat to be taken occassionally and NOT part of staple diet. Whole food plant based diet that is well-balanced is the healthier way

    • @chevlim
      @chevlim 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And price comparison is not justified. Meat is heavily subsidised with taxpayer's funds. Without subsidies, no average consumer would be able to afford it for long

    Don't tell me they actually put some kind of glue to the plate-based meat to make them stick together than they cook the plate-based meat give it to the people to consume the meat they have to add some kind of chemical to preserve the meat to be able to keep it for a very long time

    The amount of fat in a hamburger made of cow varies. You should have made that clear. Some plant based burgers, like the LightLife brand has a lot less fat. Not all fat is equally dangerous. Impossible uses coconut oil with more saturated fat than in the Beyond Burger. Here is the Beyond info per patty. ,Cow burgers have dietary cholesterol. Plant based meat does not.
    Here is the fat info for a cow patty per the first Google listing.
    Fat- 16 grams
    Sat fat- 6 grams.

      I agree with the sec but not the first. Meat is highly sought after for the content, the minerals. What plant based gives us is that it changes the sources but not the contents. The minerals is still there. It still meets our body requirements. This is why you can be healthier than those doing aninal based

    No Way! When I consume plant-based food, it is strictly the original, natural and straightforward green leafy veggies, lentils,
    beans, peas and nuts and fruits. I don’t want to kid myself with the alternative mock stuff. The fake stuff also contain a lot
    preservatives, additives and processes just to make it taste and look like the real stuff. During the processes mostly all the
    nutrients will be destroyed and moreover it is also expensive. Just like GMO foods, we just cannot tell what will happen to
    our bodies when we consume these stuff long term. Anyway it is one man’s meat and another man’s poison, but for myself
    I just prefer to be safe than sorry.

      But what's the problem though? The faux fur and leather industry was borne because people loved the fashion but wanted less harm done to animals. Now they enjoy the best of both worlds.

  • @romeovelasco4151

    Jesus created plants and animals for the consumption of man. We should respect the Creator of life by not altering the original quality of food he created. God provides us with the original recipe he made and even taught us not to fake it. Processed food is a product of man's selfishness in his fallen nature. Fresh is best. We can no longer improve on what God has made perfect since creation...😊
