i like how CNA reports both sides of the story (pros and cons of plant based milk). the balanced in content is very soothing to watch. Al jazeera always harp on negativity. its very endearing to see the host introducing his family into the show, giving added character to him. good!

They are inferring that they report both sides. But they hid very important fact. The single nutritionist and the host both said that milk was the hands down winner in terms of health. However they failed to list the unhealthy ingredients in milk which encourage diabetes, cancer and heart disease.

Cow milk is not the only source of calcium. Beans and greens can give you all you need. Soy milk gives you all the protein of cow's milk, but avoids the drawbacks of dairy.
"Milk and other dairy products are the top source of saturated fat in the American diet, contributing to heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and Alzheimer's disease. Studies have also linked dairy to an increased risk of breast, ovarian, and prostate cancers."

If plant-based "milk" isn't considered dairy then why are they placed in dairy sections of markets? Plants do not produce milk unlike mammals. So they basically are almond juice or rice juice.

    • @lingth
      @lingth 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

@StickQuest its because as consumers if i want to buy Oat milk, i would associate the term "milk" and goto the Dairy section, instead of the word "Oat" and walk to the cereal section. or for rice milk, walk to the rice section.
"Juice" would be a mis-information, Basically Oat Milk is just Oats Plus Water, Blended and Filtered/Strained. Ppl typically add honey or maple syrup if you are vegan, to sweeten it a bit for consumption. and the remaining pulp is used for other recipes like baking oat cookies etc.

Veganism also means being cruelty free. In order for humans to drink cow's milk, dairy cows are constantly artificially inseminated to get pregnant. Their babies do not even get to drink the milm meant for them. The babies are destroyed shortly after birth. Google for dairy calves.

Saying blended oats is cot comparable to cow milk because has no calcium is a deceiving stupid question. It is not and will never be. But is cow milk comparable to oat milk in terms of fiber for example? Cow milk has zero fiber, and a lot of saturated fat... Sesame milk has more calcium than cow milk, soy milk has more protein... Why people want to replace and expect the exact same composition? Goat milk is more environmental friendly and lactose free for example. It can be used in the exact same way as cow milk. But will never have the same exact composition...
Variety is one of the most important things in any diet, drinking the same milk every day for all life brings zero variety. Having different plant milks actually adds a lot of nutrients and elements that can help out health a lot more. And is a lot more social and ethical responsible.and I am sorry but I think cow milk the most disgusting smelly thing ever, I was never a fan, just the smell is horrible.

Another video where people don't get it.
Cow milk has saturated fats and cholesterol(foods linked most to heart disease etc).
Dairy is responsible for 80% of consumed estrogen(cancer).
The main protein in milk is casein(protein most linked to cancer in studies).
Harvard University has shown how dairy mucus speads up cancer growth.
Countries with the highest dairy consumption have the highest rates of osteoporosis(the exact thing dairy is supposed to fix and is almost non existent in countries where people don't drink/eat dairy).
The healthiest way to live is to get all the nutrients needed, while avoiding the incredible amount of negatives something like dairy would give you.
Even if a plant milk will only give you part of the nutrients you need, your still already on your way to getting what you need without increasing your risk of diseases.

Don't look at it only the environmental perspective. We got to look at the health perspective; you all please carefully look what these farmers are doing for these animals. Probably all these cows are being confined in a small space for the whole life and the cows are mentally poisoned. In my point of view, the cow's hormone is definitely abnormal. Therefore, I think the milk produced are abnormal too. Whether abnormal (hormone) cow milk would affect our health after consumption. It is a big question mark. I am not a doctor.
Please be observant, those cows were not eating green grasses. I don't know what the cows were taking.
You guys try to imagine, if a women is being confined in a room for the whole life just for a purpose of giving birth and producing milk in a confined room. Do you think that women can produce healthy milk for her baby? Education is good provided the knowledge is used correctly, ethically and responsibly. Likewise, cow milk will become healthy provided the farmers are willing to let the cows to eat the green grasses on a piece of green land freely. Does it make sense?
