I learned a lot but in a loop with my Mercedes did a whole transmission fluid and conductor change etc. I keep getting p0705 prnd not showing In cluster 🧐
Thank you so much for all of your 722.6 NAG videos, I stubbed into these yesterday and have watched them all at least once…haha The 722.6 in my Sprinter Just started having an issue. The tranny has never missed a beat, and suddenly started Slipping/not putting the power to the wheels. Zero issues getting into gear or anything like that, it just doesn’t put the power to the wheels and sounds like it’s just spinning. I have a code stating that my TC clutch needs attention. This code was on for a few months and I didn’t notice any changes from the tranny until yesterday. Currently a bit stranded in AZ and I’m thinking that I need to install a new TC. Do these symptoms sound like the TC clutch or the TC went out?
Great video Shawn. This video helped alot to understand a problem I have with Grand cherokee 2004 2.7 crd diesel (limp mode) stuck in 2nd gear. I had a ABS fault LF speed sensor shorted, Fixed that and ABS light went off .Connecter at the trany si all oily and i am going to replace that as well. My question to you is the wiring diagram that is shown at the begining of the video was very helpfull to diagnose the signals with my scope but can not find a diagram with wiring colours. do you have a diagram with colours for the wires . Thanks agin for the great lesson.
Great Video !!! All is very well explained. -I see on my Dodge NAG1 the transmission control module has a number of terminal not used. Leading me to believe throttle position , vehicle speed and other inputs comes in by CAN . -Do you know if those other terminal in modules are provision for a stand alone application where I could hard wire a TPS and/or a MAP sensor and a gear range selector ? Thanks , Marc
So if a crossfire goes into a neutral type state after hitting a bump and then resets to normal operation after restart, it most likely is a faulty TCM or wiring to TCM?
I am willing to donate to you for an answer: My 722.6 behaves normally unless its stressed or driven for 100km+ especially now in the summer. It starts delaying the shift at first not shifting until 2500 rpm and then progressively to 4500 rpm which is pretty much redline for my diesel.OIl and filter is changed There is no slip no weird noises no codes or errors scaned with official mercedes tool. When this happens there is also a very aggresive downshift its like it always wants to keep rpm high. Can you please answer if there is such behaviour programmed in the egs tcm if overheating is detected? I strongly believe this is temperature related and the radiator or the water exchanger is clogged
Do shift valve solenoids stay actuated during the entire time the assigned clutch is engaged, or does it let off once the clutch engages? If the correct scenario is the second one, how does the clutch pressure get released once it needs to be disengaged? Thanks for the video.
Yes, the solenoid only turns on for a couple seconds and shuttles the command valve. That gets the process of releasing a clutch and applying a clutch started. After the shift is complete, energizing the solenoid will start the process again. The clutch that was previously applied will now release and the clutch that was released will now apply. The same solenoid will always control the apply/release of the same clutches. That’s why they are divided into shift groups.
i experiencing issue with this tranny..excesive slippage..tranny is after rebuild! there is new tcc solenoid, and another new converter..set code p0741 and slipping is sometime over 600rpm..terrible...scan tool status is only open..
You sir, are an amazing teacher!!! This video, along with your others are pure gold!
thanks for the humor. Keeps it fresh...
I really appreciate this excellent set of videos
Really well done.
Outstanding! Thank you very much!

Excellent vid!
Inspires confidence. Great info that few can explain.
Amazing information. Thank you
Wow what outstanding info. I have a 2008 Jeep Commander with the nag1 and trying to find out what error code P0700 is on my obd

When the circuit is open by N/P is there 5V or is there actually 0V cause the circuit is interrupted?
could you hotwire shift it if you don't have a tcm

why you don't talk about the Allison 1000/2000
Maybe one day. I only have one of those transmissions in the lab. I do have a couple 3000's though.
