    I was just testing today the gently oversized valves from Central Valve Body, basically a drop in valve and vacuum readings increased enough to salvage the valve body. 2001 4R70W. Thanks for sharing. Great Content

    Thank you for the information you provided. Some brands like Nissan say why you can use automatic transmission fluid for life. What are the risks of changing transmission oil?

    Thanks for the video! My automatic transmission MB 722.103 loses pressure at times. I raise the revs to 3000rpm and the pressure comes back. Your video shows that the pump is very robust and hardly has any defects. What are the components that can cause this problem?

    Hi! First of all, I would like to thank you for the information and training provided. I myself repaired the 6F50 automatic transmission / everything worked out. Replaced repair kit transtar with pistons and trans go. But there are questions, I do not like how the automatic transmission leads. At 30 miles during switching like a butoh, someone is holding the back, there were no earlier and plus there are small jolts when R, D is turned on. I'll try to change the transmission solenoid / TCM. After buying a new TCM on ebay, do need to adapt to car? If nada then how can I do it.
    Best regards, Yura

      Usually when you get a new TCM, you'll need to program it. But since you are getting it from Ebay, maybe the seller has the ability to program it for you. Regarding your shifting issues, I'd check to see if the line pressure is within spec. It sounds like line pressure high for some reason, and a solenoid or TCM could cause this. Good luck!

    I have a 4r100 and sometimes i have a delayed engagement when i shift from park to drive otherwise it drives fine and my temps never go over 180 degrees. I am thinking of replacing solonoid valve body, accum valve body, main accum valve body and filter. Is this a good idea? I am going to use new parts no rebuilds .thanks

      It might be the solenoid pack. When you have it apart, you might air check the clutches and inspect the valve body as well.

    But dont those transgo shift kits double up the pressure?

    • @siuautomotive
      @siuautomotive  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ll have to do the calculations, but I’m almost positive that they leave the sol reg pressure the same. On some of their older performance kits, they have options for increasing pressure, but in units like the 6t70, they are just fixing a worn out valve body.

      @@siuautomotive thanks for the response, and your videos are awesome! I just assumed that they always bumped the pressure up, but I guess it may depend on the transmission model and what its known to have issues with or known to need improvements with. I have a 6R80 with weird shifting behavior and Transgo has a shift kit with specific things being addressed for it. "Common concerns with this transmission are TCC shudder, rough coast down shifts, gear ratio error and solenoid performance codes. Firstly, these complaints are the result of the wear in the pressure regulator (PR) valve bore and the pressure regulator valve balance bushing. Secondly, the torque converter clutch regulator valve design and calibration were in dire need of an upgrade to address the TCC shudder complaint." Would there be benefit in upping the pressure for the converter to keep it locked up better? Provided the lock up clutch is not warped or cracked? Is the 6R80 converter clutch the same as the 6L80? With same problems?

      Transgo makes a great product and I think it'd be worth putting in a kit to see if it addresses the complaints. I do know that the 6R80 is known for solenoid issues, from either contamination or solenoid seat wear, and this would also cause your issues. I don't think increasing the pressure would help your issue, because these transmissions are always monitoring shift speeds and the computer would likely try to work to reduce the pressure, negating any modification you did. And, by doing that, you could end up making the computer work outside its limits of adaption. The 6R80 uses a different design of torque converter than most. It's still a two-path, but it uses a captive clutch on some designs. I believe they are having issues with converter lining flaking and their plastic stator falling apart. If you pull the pan and you find friction material or plastic, it's probably from the converter. It's a difficult converter for the TC reman shops to rebuild because if its design.

      @@siuautomotive Thanks for that info. Sounds like the 6R80 has its own issues. I just bought this one and trans oil was black at 80,000. Had a lot of fine metal on the magnet. Seems way to black for fluid thats supposed to last for 120,000 miles. Trans might not have much life left. I changed fluid and filter for now. Going to put the transgo shift kit in next hoping it will extend its life until I'm ready to rebuild it.

    • @RadFox1320
      @RadFox1320 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      And of course i'd replace the Converter probably with an upgraded one.

    Dear Sean! You have a black belt in automatic transmission and only you can help me. After installing the Trans GO repair kit in takeoff, it should work. And according to TCM, I myself can theoretically repair my TCM. What usually goes wrong in it? And I can also buy TCM from you.
    Best wishes, Yura!

      Sorry Yura! I don't sell these, I only teach them, lol! Regarding the TCM, I'm not sure what happens to them. It's just one of those last things you replace if you know the solenoids are good, the valve body is good, the clutch endplays are good, and the trans air checks good. There's nothing else left! Lol!
