A great video sir. I'm with you about the circle hooks. I'm not too impressed with them myself. I see a lot of guys singing the praises of them. Tried them late summer, early fall for catfish and was sorely disappointed with them. After a few hours of lost fish, missed fish, and just lost bait, I went back to the standard J hook and started getting them in the boat again. Nice to see I'm not alone in that arena. Hope to get out to the coast soon. Would it be worth it to go out around some of the jetties this time of year?

Circle hooks are great for my kids! They increase their catch rate. I feel like mine goes down.

Soon as our flounder back off dredging bucktails is worthy for reds. We are infested with flatties much of the year.

Yeah the rod is designed so the line comes off the bottom of the rod like a spinning rod.
Hi Elias, I watched a lot of your videos and I want to say they are very interesting to watch. I wanted to ask @9:30, on your fish finder there is a mass of noise(?) that are 5 feet off the bottom, are those fish? After you hooked up those were gone. I am interested in fining out of they are just noise or actual fish/structure down there.

everytime i sue blue crab and cut it, it seems like all the bait fish just peck all the meat out. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas? should i keep it on the hook even after they peck all the meat out? ive tried using blue crab at the jetty and bridges but no luck.
Try the Crab-flavored Fishbites, either the chunks or cut-your-own strips. It's tough ( use sharp hooks ) and almost impossible for minnows to dislodge.
The junk fish love blue crabs. It’s a bit of an art.
