Looks like Chokoloskee. You can camp the outer islands in the 10000 island national park. Been planning a long weekend doing a survival eat what you catch out there...
Sail cat, hardhead cat, lady fish sheepshead (with a real nice one on the paddle tail), gag grouper, goliath grouper, jack crevalle, speckled trout (a couple good ones!), redfish, snook. I think this easily could've been two videos, but I suppose I appreciate it all being in one place. Looking forward to the keys content and hoping you take some time to fish the gulf-side flats and backcountry down there!
Nice video bro! Speckled trout, redfish, mangrove snapper, snook, sail catfish, hard head catfish, lady fish, jack crevalle, gag grouper, Goliath grouper, and sheepshead. Possibly a black tip shark that bit through the line and got away! 😅
Man you come back down to South Florida, a cold front comes through and still get some action! Super excited you're back! Can't wait to see your other bag of tricks as you head down!
Quick tip Elias.... If you don't take that catfish slime off your leader, the good fish will ignore your lure or bait and you'll continue to attract more catfish to your presentation with the smell of that slime. It's like a way for them to compete for the same bait and if one misses it, then next one will key into the smell of the one that missed it.
really enjoyed this video, that epdl is so cool. awesome variety and shark spotting snook, redfish, gag grouper, Speckled trout, ladyfish , hard head catfish, sail catfish, jack crevalle, mangrove snapper, Goliath grouper, and sheepshead.
Pretty nice trout day if you’d been keeping them. Specks are hard to beat fried, and you had plenty for a nice fried fish dinner for [edit] _ten_ people.
I've got a one of those catfish spines stuck in my hand before about a half inch deep. My hand was swollen for days, so yah definitely don't get stuck by them haha it's miserable
Lady fish, sheepshead, mangrove snapper, sail cat, hardhead cat, gag grouper, goliath grouper, speckled trout, snook, jack crevalle, redfish. Great variety. I also couldn’t believe the number of sail cats on the artificials. Unreal! Great vid as always!!
GREAT VIDEO AS USUAL. Ladyfish, gag grouper, goliath grouper, mangrove snapper, snook, hard head catfish, gafftopsail catfish, jack, trout, redfish, sheepshead. (almost a blacktip shark).
Lady fish, gaftopsail catfish, hard head catfish, mangrove snapper, gag grouper, black tail shark, Goliath grouper, snook, sheepshead, speckled trout, redfish, jack crevalle

We just got back from Florida, turn on y2 and u back! Ha This carolina cold blows! Back your way mid march! Gotta love FL fishing. Nice mix bag of critters! We caught so many fish! Have fun!
Hey Elias a quick trick if you ever get spined by either a gaffsail or hardhead catfish. Take as much slime as you can off their underbelly and rub it all over where you got hit. It will relieve a lot of pain quickly. And old man taught me that years ago and it really works!😎🎣🎣
@@TsugaOregon you are one of the lucky ones! Most people suffer sever pain when you get stuck good. Or maybe you just got grazed and not really punctured. Either way you are LUCKY!😎
@@danl.909 damn bro thats the first time I ever heard of that. I do know that venom thats in the fin can cause bad infections but are you saying that you rubbed the slime on the puncture and still it got infected? That sux bro. Was it salt or fresh water cat?
Those big Ladyboys are super fun to catch. They’ll rip drag and do an acrobatic show for you while you catch them. We usually get them where the trout are down here.
Speckled trout, sheepshead, mangroves, ladyfish, sheepshead, red fish, snook, gag and Goliath grouper, hard-headed and sail cats, and an unconfirmed but assumed black tip.
Oh No! The dreaded Gaff top catfish, had one flip off the hook in the boat and start thrashing around, ended up nailing me through my shoe. By the time I got to the ER already a mess. Take care, good video thanks
Nice video my friend have to say I got poked by catfish couple months ago between my big finger and other finger the space right there in the middle I’m 34 years older and when that thing poked me I want to cry no joke man my hand hurts so bad I tell you
The Everglades what an aquarium. Great video , great adventure.. What was the large fish that jumped in the distance? You commented that one almost jumped in the yak a few years back. Thanks for the adventure. Cheers.
Uhm- hmmmm. I knew Florida would hook ya! 😊 Love these Florida videos especially. You just experienced the variety, hard to beat our weather also... PS, Elias, have you been bass fishin' in Central Florida? 😊❤
if your talking about with just the twitch bait the fish are(speckled trout, jack crevalle, lady fish, and 2 redfish in a row. IF your talking about the entire video then speckled trout, sheepshead, hardhead cats and sail cats, lady fish, redfish, gag grouper and goliath grouper, mangrove snapper, and snook. THANKS, BOB
OK, if I can remember them all: Mangrove snapper, Ladyfish, Gag and Goliath grouper, Hardhead and Gafftop Sail catfish, Jack, Blacktop shark, Redfish, Seatrout, Sheepshead, and Snook?? What, no Lizardfish?!
Getting stuck by a hardhead or a gaff-topsail catfish, sucks. But one doesn't need medical help unless you have an allergy to the venom or get an infection from the puncture wound.
Redfish, snook, mangrove, sheepshead, hardhead, sailcat, Goliath, Gag, ladyfish, speckled trout. I would say shark you didn’t catch one you just hooked it. I’m sure I forgot something but hey I tried

To give you all the species you caught, I'd have to rewatch the whole video and I'm too lazy to do that. So, these are just the ones I remember off the cuff. Ladyfish, tons of catfish, mangrove snapper, goliath grouper, redfish, speckled trout, one snook, a small jack, a different kind of grouper, and that's all my feeble 76 year old mind can remember.
couple months ago I brought one of those cats into my yak. it was an expensive mistake. it stuck its pectoral spine into my leg and I had to pull it out with pliers, not a fun experience. Got an xray to make sure i got it all out and went on antibiotics. took about a month to heal
I like it when you fish closer to my home, Cape Coral. Those baby cats have attitude, lil son a bitches will stick you when your tossing them back and there sharp ! Been a tough stretch last month down here, unseasonably cold and windy. Your hitting it right on channels , deeper water transitioning to maybe 4', shallows have not been producing for me. I am 100% w you, really hate top waters but a subsurface twitch bait works well. Tear them up ! Where did you launch from? I was looking awhile ago to maybe try the Glades but don't know anyone who had fished it before.
There's several private properties you can launch from on Choko but they will charge you. But there's a free launch between the Gulf Coast Visitor Center and the airport in Everglades City. It's under construction now but still open.
