  • Apparantly a favourite of Hagrids in Harry Potter, certainly a teatime favourite in our home. Traditional English recipe. The easiest cakes you can make. Enjoy :).

    There are no destructions in the info box btw. No matter though 😊 I double this recipe; half I make plain, then, while the plain ones are baking, I cut up ready to eat figs and add those instead... my partner loves these but hates dried fruit of any kind, so half are for him and the fig ones are for me. (They're nice with glacé cherries too) 😀

    I'm wondering why you use a fork to do the mixing. Is that a British thing? I've never seen this done on any cooking show. They do look great, and are pretty fast to make. I think I'll put some nuts and vanilla, and maybe a shake of cinnamon in, too. Thank you so much. By the way, you are doing a great job by letting the little one have such such wonderful memories of actually getting right in there and helping to mix the cakes. He will certainly remember these day's well into his old age. From USA., 4/25/19

    • @ShakespearesChin
      @ShakespearesChin  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much for your message. I tend to do things all my own way so using a fork is more a Paula thing ha ha. I don't like getting mixture under my nails and using a fork to push and scrape ingredients together works well for me. Quick, one fork to wash up afterwards. In a non dishwashing machine house these things are important 😉
