    I’m hoping to teach in Korea once I finish earning my bachelors and I’ve been looking into epik then possibly switching to a hagwon (private academy) and I thought those were the only two ways of teaching in Korea, but your job doesn’t sound like either of those. I have a tip! When you do your makeup try dabbing the sponge across your face instead of swiping, swiping will remove the coverage and overall dabbing will give a better look:)

    • @lifewithhan
      @lifewithhan 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      another tip is with powder- dab the brush on your face and roll it to truly get the product on your face and distribute it without moving the product underneath! swirling the brush on your face can remove the foundation underneath and waste powder because you have to keep dipping in!

    I studied abroad in Sicily, Italy last year and it is such a shock! I felt like a tourist for like two of the three months I lived there, but once you got to know the locals and learn the customs of the area it was so much fun to live there! The language barrier is definitely difficult but I mean what can't Google translate help with?! The time goes by way too fast so be sure to soak it in and make connections with as many locals as possible :)

    From my understanding, Korean culture (maybe this is a East Asian thing too/ie japan) values native English speaking foreigners teaching English more than local Koreans who can teach it as a second language. It sucks for the native teachers but I understand it can be seen good cause it’s a teacher who knows the current culture and can’t speak to them in Korean marking them have to figure it out.

    • @tahiratahira0211
      @tahiratahira0211 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah it’s definitely more apparent in east asia, a lot of the international programs to bring in english teachers prefers people from the us/uk because we’re native speakers, most don’t even require us to have a degree in english which is crazy

    wait... you are training a year in the US to be teacher? ONE year? it takes 2 degrees, 6 years of university, several internships + 1.5 -3 years in class training here in Germany

      Jennifer H I am from the US and becoming a teacher it takes 4 years with 6 months- 1 year internship. Then when you get your first job that school has a new teacher training that’s about a week or so.

      that’s why the german school system is one of the best in the world.. also there must be reason why people say the Americans are less educated than most

    How did you transition from whatever type of money you used before to Korea money?
    (Asking because I'm leaning Korean so I can move there)

      before you go to a foreign country you go to an exchange, give them your money in your currency and they’ll change it for you!

    How does the whole "switching your phone over" from a USA phone company to a Korean phone company? I currently have Verizon but obviously when I move to Korea I want to keep my phone but I know I may have to change my number or whatever else to keep contact my friends and family here in the states, so how does that work?
    Also, I am super excited to see more footage of your transition to Korea and just what you have in store!

    Korean culture, food habits, family life habits are similar as Tamil ( Tamilnadu) people. For us also we can't live without Rice and we won't get filled without rice. Living with parents, respecting people, elders, hospitality, sound talking, work like slaves, festivals with lot of food served, saving the money penny by penny, male domination in most of the families, worshiping the dead people each year by the direct family members, martial arts etc., calling Amma Appa, anni (unni in Korea), Vettukili (mettukili in Korea) are all same in Tamil and Korea. There are so many common words between us..Korean habits of food are all same except the chopstick. We used mostly our hands at home and will mix the liquid curry with rice and eat...Please explore the history of Korean Tamil Queen Sembavalam and Tamil Musics and musicians..

    Welcome to Korea. My hubby is from the states. We both teach English too. Things can be pretty tough at first. You will find a lot of things different. Hope you get used to your new life soon. Busan is my favorite city! We live in Jeju!
