omg it looks gorgeous!! Ive never seen any apartment like that in korea before! I do recommend having some kind or netting or mesh on the rails in the loft area tho, its definitley a "dog falling" hazard XD
Aimee Vlogs I was just about to comment on having some type of long doggy gate all along the top floor loft area. Or even just put one at the stairs for when Adrienne's gone so she can't fall by accident. But it is an amazing and beautiful apartment! 💖

Plexiglass will work for that. I'd superglue magnets to the rails and plastic which is barely noticeable.
I’d be tempted to turn that small lower room into a walk in closet since it has no windows and is right off the bathroom, so it would be great for a dressing room!

I love how minimal and functional so many Korean and Japanese apartments are. I wish we had more options like this in the states. Granted we do in the large cities but not in the smaller cities or large towns.
Who else is very confused by that door beside the TV that doesn't reach the ground?
Probably the fuse breaker box. The wall between the living room and the 'office' portion isn't thick enough for it to be storage. In large houses/apartments they are usually in the utility or laundry room. In smaller spaces it's either the front cabinets where the shoes are or in a random place.
I think it either store some sort of boiler or an ironing board

If you’re gonna just do the mattress get some bed boards just to put underneath purely so the mattress can breathe a bit, ikea sell them pretty cheap and they’re only a couple inches tall

Yea. If not done the matress can build up mold, because of the sweat and fluids.
I actually learnt today coincidentally that the Asians make their 'floor' mattresses a certain way so they can breath :)
I just stumbled on this video, but that is really a good idea...i never would have thought about it needing to breath.

Yeah, through the "railing" of the loft; especially with hardwood, dogs tend to get "slippy." Maybe some mesh would help

You should get a bed couch so then when you have guests stay with you, you can just pull out the bed and they can sleep in the living room!

It’s DEFINITELY worth it. That place looks amazing and there’s so much that you can do. This is literally my dream loft apartment for when I move there as well (if you remembered I mentioned wanting to start the process in teaching abroad and your video was a HUGE help, and I have just accepted a contract and will be moving to Suwon in February). Super excited to see the vlogs you will be able to come up with in your new place and congrats!!
For room ideas, I’d say definitely check out house tour on YT, they have so many ideas and they’re based in Korea, so you can get an idea on the prices and probably get similar items that you like. th-cam.com/video/dfSMZDl6cfQ/w-d-xo.html

I’d put some netting on the stairs railing so your dog won’t slide off the stairs. Looks cool apartment
Maybe that little room could be somewhere guests could stay that way it’s a little more private and the desk could go upstairs by the window so you can look out ?

It's beautiful and very modernized. I'm going to apply for English teacher in South Korea. This apartment is probably a little smaller than the camera reveals, right? It's rent free so who can complain. Reminds me of the apartments at the Mercury in South Beach. Absolutely gorgeous. Can't wait to see it furnished.

I adore your apartment. I think you should get a convertible sofa/futon for the living room for when you have people stay over with an area rug in front of it, side tables, lamps and a dog's bed. Put real or fake plants on both floors. The small room- put a couple of bookcases against the short wall to hold your teaching materials.On one of the long walls-a filing cabinet, desk, area rug, comfortable chair with artwork on the last wall. Upstairs definitely a mattress in the floor with a lot of large pillows to use as bed/sofa, another dog bed and over by the window maybe a small reading, listening to music or watch tv area. I am concerned about your dog upstairs though. The way those rails are, it the dog loses his balance or rolls over the rails there is nothing stopping him from falling. I would use rope and create a barrier weaving it through the rails to make a wall or fence.
Holy shit this loft apartment is amazing, a dream!
Loft area would make a nice games area or library/ bedroom/ study desk area. The space downstairs that you said could be a study area could then be turned into guest room with a futon bed and short table for eating/ studying etc. (sitting on the floor). Accent the rooms with green plants to make use of the natural light. The thing is, do not clutter the space.
This is really nice I love it..it's so much more extra then most Korean apts I've seen..cant wait to look up one of the videos with it all decorated..
Ask the Sorry Girls for decorating a room or two. Do a cool Canadian Korean collab video!!!! Lol I think it would be cool.
I'm a mattress sleeper myself. I have a 12 inch mattress that was more comfortable on the floor than on my old bed. My tip is have a padded headboard between your head and the wall (if you line up your bed against the wall). I bumped my head on the wall more times than I link to remember when I first started sleeping on the floor. I trained myself out of it, but I still recommend a plushy barrier between you and the wall.
As for that glass railing, you might try experimenting with dangling decor like lights or plants and/or fabrics. Maybe some earth tones and greenery if that's your thing. For your upstairs loft, have the beanbag next to the window with a fluffy blanket and some pillows. You can use it as a reading/lounging corner and take advantage of the natural light. Add a small lamp and table if you can. Just my suggestions.
The apartment looks amazing! Excited to see how it’ll look like once it’s furnished and decorated ☺️ Also interesting to hear what’s so different for compared to US, like the fridge/freezer is pretty much the same with the drawers like here in the Netherlands.

So entering the closet and bathroom area , I would put a twin bed in that space to the left, right next to the closet I would put a dresser and an accordion door so no one would see and that could be another small bedroom.
What was your process in finding this apartment? Would love to see a video on this as when I move to Korea I hope to find a loft apartment but as a teacher it will be hard to put such a large deposit when looking for an apartment by myself :)

Turn your loft into your filming area. Put plants and a small table with cute decors at the wall. And maybe some cute fairy lights or tapestry? And the other side of your loft can be your sleeping area ❤️
Hey Adrienne! I just signed a contract with an english school in Korea to be a teacher! I'm going to be moving there in February and I was wondering if you could do a video on what you wear to work because I have no idea was I should wear to teach lol. LOVE your videos by the way!

Depends what kind of school you're working at. Also depends on the individual school. I'd definitely bring some clothes that aren't too casual. Of course, you can buy things here at a good price if you need to.
Your house is beautifully amazing.. I love the mirrors in the house especially the huge mirror at the door.. where you check yourself out before you head out.. 😹
The lower part of your house you can put a sofa bed at the living room towards the windows and a play area for your pet. The small alley you can probably put it as a storage / a walk in closet..(If you make it as a office at that alley when your tired you cant really relax bcoz there isnt any scenery it feels like covered in 4 walls.)
The loft you can set it like a mini office after the long wardrobe area and futher down to the window you can make a bed like japanese style (tatami), or korean hanok bed, or a sofa bed.. You can see the scenery outside while your sleeping. ☺️ The long wardrobe you can keep it some of it as a storage if you plan to do a tatami bed or a korean hanok bed. ☺️ Your fortunate to have a nice and beautiful place to stay in.

this might be a huge throwback but this looks almost exactly like eat your kimchi’s first apartment. literally just had a violent flashback to 2010
This tiny room is actually to dry your laundry cause you don't have a balcony :)
If you want to have a lot of guests over, you could turn that small room into a guest room by getting a stand-up barrier or hanging a curtain. And for your office, you could use part of the loft and face the desk toward the window so you have a better view while working on stuff.
You can have whatever colors you want but I feel like because you have such nice big windows the sunlight will look really nice against light pastel colors( light yellow, pink, tan, blue, etc...)
In the loft I would put sitting pillows and Japanese low table as well as some shelves or a bookcase for books or aesthetic stuff. I imagine that would fill out some of the space

It's like a tiny house but the apartment version very functional and alot of storage niceee
The upstairs would be perfect to have an office and bed because when your at your desk your head won't touch the ceiling, and use that smaller room downstairs a guest room

I love how the apartment is laid out - you could put like have a second mini office on the top with the natural light you get through the windows. In addition to that idea, where you thought of putting your office initially, you could have like a mini play area for Cleo? But yeah definitely a good apartment you got there, reminds me of when I got my own in India for a while. Congratulations by the way.
To fit with the korean spring time, you could do light pinks and green to look like Rose petals. But very faint. I think it would go well with the floors.

Fab apartment, aircon, and dishwasher? Also hopefully you places your bed by the power sockets. Privacy at night? Those blinds only keep out sunlight, but at night they are see through. Great place. Important that where ever you live is your home, and it needs to support your emotional needs. Xx
Just an idea 🥰 you could make the loft area super cozy and put a rug on the floor, and some fairy lights 💜 kinda like turning the whole loft into like a “safe” chill area to kinda get away from everything else 💜 and with the ceiling being shorter it would add to the coziness! Also a beanbag would be a good idea like you said, but they also make these little couch things , they’re small and are basically big cushions you sit on (ondo’s yt channel has one for reference!)
This is my future goal! Im currently finishing my TESOL degree and hope to get a job in Busan! This channel is amazing as it gives me an idea of what to expect!

how much did this cost, i was under the impression that english teachers in korea were not the highest paid, but it look very well finished and modern.
nsh •_• They’re not typically paid well - which is why one of the major advantages is that the schools pay for rent, but she also does TH-cam so she probably earns a really decent salary.
You can EASILY save up and get a place like this on a teaching salary in Korea if you're not stupid about your money, budget well and save. I only make 2.3 but I saved up over 5k in a year (with student loans also to pay). If you teach 2 years and save up 10k++ you can easily afford to get a place like this.
@@KassieJane Saving for an apartment makes no sense. What happens when your savings run out? You have to move? You should find a place you don't have to blow through your savings to be able to afford to live in.
@kassie jane no no save for the deposit money is whats meant not living on savings........ then school pays a good chunk of the rent and she pays some of the rent from earnings so all is good

You should tie yarn to the rails of your loft so your doggo doesn't fall. Yarn is fairly cheap and colorful. Once you move in and have a color theme you could get colors to match. Or look into dorm DIY dividers they have some cool one to get idea. Hopeful chole will be one tho.
Your apartment is gorgeous but I would be scared to death of my dog falling! So excited you get to bring her to Korea with you! I just found you on your packing for Maui vid where you were taking her to the sitters! New subscriber for sure!
That apartment is beautiful and the window is so big! If the staircase is slippery (it looks slippery), maybe it would be good to put something on it so that Cleo won't fall down.
IKEA will be opened in Busan next year, probably in February, so it will help you decorate your new place

idea for place: I'm practicing the minimal lifestyle and it really keeps my place clutter-free and looking spacious. saves you money and makes your home look even bigger and well put together
2:33 most freezers in europe are like that too, Americans have much bigger fridges than we do

I know you have comments about this already but I couldn’t think of ANYTHING other than having a dog and that loft railing. Not at all being a stickler about it but I really am interested in seeing what you come up with to prevent your dog from falling from the loft! Other than that, such an interesting apartment! I can’t wait to see it decorated.

Ahh the Officetels, I remember them very well. I just couldn't feel the loft part I was too tall. Live back in the states half the year now, and Marine City for the other have. I definitely love Busan and hope more people visit.
Is it worth buying all this furniture in a country where you won't be staying for long? I mean I would have stayed in the apartment provided and save as much as I could until I was sure what to do and where to be in the future
I definitely agree with you. In this case, I would've waited more time living there, specifically because she's living in Busan not Seoul (I still support and I'm excited for her 💙 you go girl!!!!)

More cabinet space... You know what that means? You can get sucked in to the endless hole of buying new clothes, because their shops are hecking adorable. The apartment is super cute though, I hope you will be able to live comfortably now with your doggo when she comes :)
It’s such a cool place. I love it! I’m with everyone else when it comes to the railings. Definitely try to make them safer if there isn’t glass there. I’m just afraid you’ll slip or your dog will be rolling around and someone will fall. I can’t wait to see what you do with the place!

Haha I understand that but dogs have senses (whiskers) that prevent them from doing dumb things like that. She’s a smart gal and will be ok! :)
