A 222 cam is not what I would pick for a driver nor would I expect good boost response (certainly not with a 488), unless you have a stall converter too. Your 1000+ hp combo seems more oriented to the race end of the spectrum, but I bet it is fun.

@@richardholdener1727 I was just about to ask this same question. We get hammered so bad already on exchange, when a good LS cam that won't cost 600 Canadian pesos pops up it's like waving candy in front of a baby. Please look into shipping up here!
I'm coming into this a little late Richard, I like the Sloppy Stage 2 (Elgin 1840p) in a 6.0L, just what cam is the Low Buck Truck Cam ? LQ4/9 ? Is it one of your own ?
it is my cam, it is 552 lift, 212/22x and 107. I have compared it to the SS2 on the dyno. This cam makes more torque (30+ lb-ft) up to 5000 rpm then the SS2 makes more peak power
This low buck truck seems like a winner. Do you have any other cams?
I have 1 step bigger Truck Plus (585 lift, 219/225, 111)-it makes 12-15 more hp on top (above 5000 rpm on a 5.3L)
@@richardholdener1727 I have a very similar cam in l76 g8. 219/223 615 lift 112 lsa
what low buck set up for a 2014 L94 6.2 build (89 k miles when pulled) with hope of up to 600 HP and some durability. I plan to delete vvt and dod, Cam springs push rods, and lifters. Have the e85 injectors, have holly terminator x max. I saw comments about you selling stuff... can you provide a link? Best regards, thanks for what you do to educate folks.
use the email supplied in the video-but 600 flywheel from a 6.2L takes a lot of stuff
A idle video would be nice!
Does anyone have any info on the Mad maxx camshaft?
Does the low buck truck camshaft have a name?
yes-Low Buck Truck
@@richardholdener1727 Do you have a link for purchasing?
Would I get any idling problems etc …by a porting a TBSS manifold to match my 102mm throttle body?
might be hard to go that big-questions is, do you need that size tb?
@@richardholdener1727The thing is I already have that throttle body on my lsxrt manifold but whenever I got it installed it got a bunch of little cracks where the bolts get tighten. So it idles like shit and doesn’t work as it needs to be.
Can a gen 3 , 6.0L truck block with stock crankshaft and connecting rods handle 650hp N/A power reliably or would I need a forged rotating assembly.
it has handled 1300+ hp for 100s of runs with boost so 650 hp is no problem-rpm is more of an issue
@richardholdener1727 what if I was going to spin it to 6500 to 7000 rpm
Hey Richard! Where do i go to Purchase the Low Buck Camshaft i stay in Houston TX. Id appreciate sum info on this cam too thank you Richard!
killerbe16@aol.com
What springs do you recommend? Or are the stock ones fine?
btr has $79 springs or you can use factory 550-lift ls3/ly6/ls6 springs
So which is the super Richie this cam or another cam
I have two cams-the Low Buck Truck (212/22x) and the Truck Plus (Super Richie) 219/225
Truck plus next?
truck plus is only better above 5000 rpm
Hi Rich: Id like to put in a Truck Norris cam in my '08 Escalade 6.2 LS. Can I just swap cams or do I need to do springs and rods too. Thanks.
you can run that cam with the stock (550 lift) springs on your rec-port heads
this is a copy of the truck norris? have you seen reports that the TN is actually 109 lsa? did you measure the TN yourself or just copy the advertised specs?
the TN is NOT 109, nor is this cam
Who makes the low buck truck cam and what are the specs?
I do -552 lift, 212/22x and 107
We get different 6.0L in Australia. L76,L77,L98. But great
they all do the same thing
@@richardholdener1727 yeh mine hot 398rwhp not bad for an auto streeter
Does the cam have any chop at idle ?
yes-the Low Buck Truck has just the right amount of chop for a cam that can be run with a stock converter
@richardholdener1727 very nice! ...we ordered 2 of them ..we gunna make some noise. ..
what are the specs of the LBT? 550 or 600 max lift?
550 lift
Hey Richard what are the specs on this low buck truck an what centerline is it ground on?
552 LIFT, 212/22X AND 107
@richardholdener1727 ,that's not much less than I used on my 410 ls , did you happen to get the idle vacuum?
How would this work on a 2013 6.2L?
very well
What are the specss on the low buck truck cam?
552 lift, 212/22x dur and 107
@@richardholdener1727 Thank you
Is there anymore gen 3 hemi stuff coming?
I don't have any Gen 3 Hemi test motors right now
How does this cam compare to a SS3 on a LY6 6.0?
a SS3 is a much bigger cam and will make more peak power but be down in torque production through much of the curve. The SS3 is less of a street cam and more of a strip cam.-see the SS3 video
First
Edit: I’ve always wanted to say that 😂 thanks for always putting out these informative videos Rich!
how well would it work in a stock 2005 LS2
very well for a driver
Richard, I’ve seen plenty of your videos as and im trying to get as much information but right now I’m in the process of putting a cam in my 6.0 with 317 heads and I would want to if I could run a cam with a .617 lift on the stock head ? Or what would be thes best cam to get as much hp and torque as possible
with the right springs you can run over 600 lift, but lift isn't what will decide the power.
Last yr I built an lq4 low miles . I bought set of heads 317 shaved .35 ported heavy both sides. I ran a btr truck cam stage 4 v2. 1/7/8 headers Holley single plane 850 brawler. And few other tricks. It pulls hard 3800 stall 3:73 in a old C10 . Not sure what ur setup is but build something street if ur going to drive on street. Not always big cam is the best .
What’s the best streetable cam for a l9h?
the Low Buck Truck cam I offer for $179
@@richardholdener1727 Thank you for the response
where can I buy this cam?
use the email supplied in the video -killerbe16@aol.com
Where can i get this cam
killerbe16@aol.com
@@richardholdener1727 thank you much sir
Yes!
You doing alright Richard? Last few videos I hear you breathing a little heavy at times.
Thanks for the testing as always
No Richard don't you know it has to have the right cam opening and closing events and all this math done to achieve a result. Well that's what all the cam gurus tell us
the dyno knows more than gurus
Richard have you ever tested the summit 8715r1 "ghost cam" its a 222/234 cam i believe it used to be a turbo "stage 1" cam but many people are running it NA i just got it installed on my 6.0 s488 combo but i had to order 7.450 pushrods due to the base circle being alightly different than the oem lq4/9 cam. I searched but havent seen it in any of your videos and i was just curious. Seems like a good middle of the road cam with nice driving manners but decent top end.
Do they call it the “ghost cam” because it doesn’t chop super hard? I had never heard of it but I’ll check it out 😎
A 222 cam is not what I would pick for a driver nor would I expect good boost response (certainly not with a 488), unless you have a stall converter too. Your 1000+ hp combo seems more oriented to the race end of the spectrum, but I bet it is fun.
@@richardholdener1727 you would think that but it actually lights off super easy it's on a 115 lsa which I think contributes to that but I have a 3200 stall and at 3000rpm I'm already at 3-4 psi in no time. It's pretty fun 9.9:1 forged pistons and rod deal the truck actually drives pretty well and isn't as terrible on fuel as you would think. It's a street truck but I already went 10.4s on a 5.3 and 7875 trying to go 9.9 on street tires 😂 it's a 4wd rcsb
@@Scott_Buchanan you can make it not chop by bumping the idle but it has a little lope to it. Seems like it's gonna be a decent cam but I've only driven it once so far as I just finished the build and had a few other things I needed to add to get it where I want it
1543 HP!
Where are the specs for this cam?
212/22x
@richardholdener1727 will this cam have a nice lope in a 4.8 ? If so I'll buy 1!
How to order

Please sir please please please put the truck Norris cam on a 408 stroker! Please!
That would be a very cool test
I don't have one but know what it would do based off other 408 cam testing
@richardholdener1727 Don't tease us, tell us what she'll do. I've been considering a stroker LQ9 with a mild cam for my old Escalade winter beater.
What coil brackets do you have on that 5.3?
So what cam is is this?
Low Buck Truck
for $179, Is this is a regrind stock cam?
It is brand new with specs and hardness guaranteed. No cheap regrinds

LS1/LQ9 cam is 1721, LQ4 cam was same as LM7
LATER lq4 WAS THE SAME AS lq9
Hawk Tuah cam is the best
What lube for that?
