Tough project with the asphalt dust from demo , wind, and penetration details. Lots of tapered polyiso. I observed there are some seams that were not properly cleaned ( asphalt dust)and not pre welded. Lots of residual asphalt on parapets before wall sheets were hung There are a few wrinkles in the field as well. We really don’t get that on fully adhered. A few wrinkles on Mechanical fastened are okay they tighten right up quick anyway. Not being critical just my observations. Glad you dodged the weather. 👍
Great job on a tough project. Wondering - why were the 5 gallon buckets staged across the entire roof? Was that part of the pre plan for coverage? Also, what is that power equipment the guy is pushing all over the gravel that couldn't be removed manually?
I think is full adhere tpo system guys were putting in place with low rise adhesive foam for the iso and tpo glue for the membrane. As a though job it could be cleaner and notice some of the crew member no having proper ppe. Theres some minor details also but overall it look good.
truly a lot of work. and all done in about 45 days. the work around the ac's has to be a real PIA! however, this is the ugliest finish after installed. especially white. yeah aesthetics is not all needed, and nobody will ever see it. But DAMN! it is a far cry from what i was expecting to see after watching video. Our flat sloped roof condos, were done in the same TPO mil thickness in N. Myrtle Beach just completed in july, looks like frankenstein. On my building alone, approx 7500 sf, I stopped counting the patches at a 100. all sizes and in every imaginable direction. It doesn't look as dirty as your roof, but still i feel a white granular bitumen rolled product would have looked better. thanks for posting!
Thanks for your input. The rolled out Bitumen will only last about 10 to 12 years in this environment. If you want long term durability, the TPO is the best. We give a 20 year warranty and it will probably last 20 to 30 years.
I can't believe GAF passed this, wow. How on earth did they allow those wall flashings to go on old shitty tar coated walls? Those wrinkles on a Fully adhered are completely unacceptable, really is the wild west for roofing in the US.
@@roofingbyballcontracting Good to hear, ill have to use this video as a point of reference going forward with our GAF rep and reference many of these things that should be passable.
Thank you for the input. All the work was done per manufacturer specifications and passed all inspections with flying colors. This will stand the test of time.
Thank you for posting this video
You're welcome
Looks like fun 👍
Sir we should properly clean and hold our rover flat with pressure wile welding
Thanks for the input.
looks great, curious on the iso depth in that area, seems you guys use a lot
Some areas it’s 6”. We needed to add a considerable slope for drainage on this roof.
Are the air pockets/bubbles a concern?
Great question. No they are not, as they worked themselves out with rolling and the heat from the sun.
Yep....
Most of them but not all.

It was a challenging project for sure. It’s holding up well. Thank you for the input.
Wow we have an expert over here guys.
Can this material be used on a deck on top of plywood for waterproofing?
Yes, it actually can be. It makes a great surface for a patio deck on a roof.
The best was the Banda music an the Juana la cubana 💃 🕺
Lol

I believe the buckets were used for ballast and the machine was used to cut through the layers of tar and insulation. Thanks for the input.

How long will this last before it needs to be replaced?
20 to 25 years
no forklift for the bundles of insulation on the ground? Just back labor? Lighter than I thought.
Yes, all manual at the ground. It’s light

Thank you. We will do this.
the bubbles add ??????
character.
What happened to the music?
I will look into it.
seems like a lot of your guys spend much of the time looking at the view
Good point….LOL
Wow talk about terrible house keeping! If my company seen how dirty that membrane was 😂 ☠️ put booties on your boots!!!!
And what you gonna do change bootie every step you make??😅

Seems to me ur used to just new contruction tho 😅😅
So unsafe. 7 stories and no safety
Thank you for your input. There is a 4' tall wall around the entire building for the men's safety and there is safety below. Thanks again.
A LOT of bubbling in the TPO. Poor application and welding.

@@roofingbyballcontracting I hope so because a lot of effort went into it.
Big mess
