My guess at a Translation: Who hired the DCS fanboy to run air traffic control?! We can't respawn in this game dude! I don't even have the ability to hit Win+Home to autostart after I crash a jet in real life. Come on guys! Be Safe!
I think the initial "what's going on/what is that?" (ma zeh? ma zeh? ma zeh?) was from the controller since the voice affirming the command to abort takeoff sounds different while the command to abort sounds similar the the exclamation. So I think the controller noticed that both planes were about to collide and the "ma zeh" was more of the "what the hell is going on here" kind than a "what is that" kind. Maybe someone else approved take off? Maybe there was miscommunication surrounding the approval? But controller here sounds surprised and a little pissed when asking what is going on.
I only fly Cessna and will never fly something that has a HUD IRL. However, in DCS I've noticed often that the HUD's horizon line gets in the way of viewing traffic down the runway (esp if the HMD is active in the A10). Looks like the HUD had that symbology on. Have you ever needed to look around it to see down the runway?
FYI - Ramat David was built as an RAF airbase almost 90 years ago...imho - the British way of designing runways and base is inherently flawed - whatever was relevant then is more risk prone today
at 8:21 you can just make out the other jet dead center of the runway on the right screen. so he must have been backtracking the controllers should have seen that. the control tower is only about a 1000' or (300m depending on where your from) from runway 11/29
The difficult part of this is that at that fast, you can't just jam the rudder to veer around something easily like it seems to shows here - it was real skillful what he did. You are basically a fragile tricycle going 185 mph so tipping with that small tricycle gear is a real concern trying to maneuver at those speeds. Especially then getting back onto centerline and not go off roading, that's a real critical point to tip.
how’s it possible for a fighter jet at 160 to do a brusk left movement and not to tilt? It’s not a Ferrari with its center weight 10cm above ground… /me scratching my head
I see the DED info repeated in the HUD often in cockpit videos. Is the reasoning that it's just easier at a glance, or another reason to have the redundancy?
This comment is totally unrelated but I figured the only way you might really see it. Will the standby ADI in the hornet tumble and lock after an inverted or high G maneuver? I ask this because it does in DCS and when asked about it on the forum was told it 'works as intended.' by mods. It doesn't make sense that a backup instrument in a combat aircraft would be rendered inoperable because the aircraft did what it was supposed to do. Scenario: You jink to avoid a SAM and take a hit, avionics are out. you still have your standby adi, but the adi is locked upside down because of the maneuver you did to evade the sam. If true.. that's pretty shitty... and this has been bugging me for years but figured I'd just ask.
I submit to you that this was, in fact, great driving, not great flying. lol, jk. Hell of a reaction! I was at that RF preflighting our jet when that F-16 incident happened, it was NOT good. Thanks for the video and reminder how fast it can go south. Its a serious game we play out there, some people don't get it.
This reminds me of a scene in "A Night on Earth" where Roberto Benigni driving a cab at night while wearing dark sunglasses, casually crosses in between moving cars while going way too fast for any control and then goes: "Booh?" This ain't skill. This ain't even hairy. This is just "Thank you God"
An aircraft was cleared for takeoff before I cleared the runway today. I was surprised. I was on landing rollout tho. Usually they don’t do that at military fields in the U.S.
Even in the sim its not easy to get the Viper to a halt before the runway ends, especially when its loaded. I need to learn this dual leg air-braking. Kind of weird to design the jet that way. I wonder if they changed something for the heavier israeli Sufa's. Seeing that I gotta learn a safe abortion procedure for those high speeds, too... I think that incident is about half a second before I usually pull the stick back for take off
I would imagine all Israeli fighter pilots are getting a lot of air time atm. Which of course means the tower controllers are working hard too. At what point do you think too many missions and intercepts becomes an issue? Or is there such a thing as a fighter pilot wanting to fly less?

Mover, was he far enough along to where NWS had been disengaged and how would that effected his swerve? Also, was he crossing behind the other viper long enough where jet wash would be a factor, especially with he other pilot feeling the GTFO vibes from the dude on takeoff?
Great video and great reflexes from the pilots here. Glad that nobody was harmed and live to fly again.
Looks like a standard DCS hoggit server to me.
My guess at a Translation: Who hired the DCS fanboy to run air traffic control?! We can't respawn in this game dude! I don't even have the ability to hit Win+Home to autostart after I crash a jet in real life. Come on guys! Be Safe!
Hi CW, Thanks for the video . .
Glad u liked my picture :)
That's frightening. Objects on video are closer than they appear.
Right screen is a video feed from the pilot's DASH helmet. Left is HUD.
I've seen that playing DCS but holy hell is that scary to see happen IRL.
It's either an F-16I or F-16D. Either way a two seater.
The A, B and C models are no longer in service.
It’s not a Ferrari with its center weight 10cm above ground… /me scratching my head
post-roswell tech xD
Would that be mostly rudder input to swerve like that?
All rudder.
I see the DED info repeated in the HUD often in cockpit videos. Is the reasoning that it's just easier at a glance, or another reason to have the redundancy?
For the tapes. Doesn’t film the DED unless you put it in the HUD.
Where do you find does videos
And can i have access to them?
He is exclaiming "what is this what is this what is this" a common exclamation of surprised in Israel
Is that what they say after bombing a civilian hospital? It must be their version of "it's coming right for us!"
@@ninjalectualx they(gazans) bombed their own hospital. it's well documented in videos lol
enough with the lies!
@@ninjalectualx you mean when the jihad hit the hospital. it's well documented in videos lol
@@ninjalectualx So far there were only infantry raids on hospitals with thousands of militants killed or arrested in there. No air strikes. So far. ☝
I don't understand. Does the pilot NOT look down the runway before he starts a takeoff roll?
Who leaked the video and info?!
Surprised this got released
Is the runway long enough that you can’t see the other aircraft on the runway before you roll? The Cessna sized aircraft I fly are easy to see?
Ops tempo comes to mind.
We get 4k crystal clear images from Mars, but fighter jets can record only in a quality of the first, 90’s like door cameras.
Awesome :D
I never thought it could turn like that at 160kts with that skinny gear 😂
I wouldn't want to be whoever is found wrong on that one. I imagine the pilot taking off would want to talk to them after changing his shorts.
This reminds me of a scene in "A Night on Earth" where Roberto Benigni driving a cab at night while wearing dark sunglasses, casually crosses in between moving cars while going way too fast for any control and then goes: "Booh?"
This ain't skill.
Is refusal speed another way of saying V1 ?
they're in the middle of a battle so i guess things do get hectic
Some IAF ATC is going to be scrubbing toilets for a month over this.
YNet news article said removed from ATC duties and sentenced to detention for eight days.
How did you get your callsign?
Excuse me, sir, your ass is on fire.
Naw, it's my tires, guys!
What happened to "see and avoid"?
oh my looks like a session on the Growling Sidewinder server
What is "Hooked the rails"?
HOLY SMOKES! Got to clean your pants after that close call.
One more advantage to the F-16 vs the much bigger F-15...
This was most likely a Block 40 D model.
That is not the controller error some gamer viewers were thinking they will see here.
the arresting hook was used on this incident
Aren't Yisraeli F-16s called A-2s?
I believe the F-16I is similar to the Block 52
yikes! figure uot the swiss cheese ASAP. the holes in the cheese are big with this one.
And just another fyi - IAF Fighters always take off with afterburner
Gotta be a major ATC failure, right?
Hey nice shirt Mover!
UFC switch - DED to HUD repeater (bingo)
?
Hey Mover, did you see that video of a Su-57 at a Chinese Airshow? The one which shows a fine sample of Russian quality workmanship? 😂
Just as an aside, how does the Mitsubishi F2 stack up to its American cousin?
Look up her thrust to weight ratio, think of her more as a dedicated anti-ship strike platform.
@FirstDagger it is a bit of a quirky ship. It has some definite positives and negatives. More attack Focus than air to air. Kind of Nerfed on abilities, like carrying the AIM-120.
This wouldn’t happen with SU’s, they are too large to not notice.
