I think it helps that his own version of masculinity in his personal life is quite similar to Aragorn. His character may have a completely different life than him, but his approach to his own life seems rather similar to me in attitude, at least in the bits and pieces I've read about him and listened to his speeches.
Thank god someone finally said this..... the urge to control, to be violent, to be afraid of being vulnerable is not masculinity. To believe in fairness, to be generous, to be in control of your emotions and be chivalrous, if people truly understand this then they wouldn't have to complain about women being masculine. The feminine will eventually come out and flourish because the masculine protects it at all cost. Its like providing a nourished soil for the roses to bloom.

If people understood that you can be comfortable with yourself AND your feminine or masculine energy (yin and Yang blend in all of us) we’d be happier than trying to meet others expectations of us. Great video. Aragorn may be an impossible ideal, but his example is certainly something that men should follow. Courage, humility, honor, responsibility, charity, and strength: All goals to strike for. Being a man is not about being an entitled, spoiled, f*** boy, hence the word "boy."

You're not wrong. However, the truth is that a man like Aragorn would simply die under a bridge alone in the current culture. He was a great man because he could be a great man. He could be a great man because he lived in a culture that valued and rewarded honor, truth, and respect. Our culture punishes those things, so why are we surprised that Tate et al are what men are becoming?

to be fair, all of the family of half elves had to decide between the fate of man or the fate of elf. her brothers give up eternal life, too, as did their uncle, Elrond's brother Elros - who is aragorn's ancestor. I completely agree. Unfortunately its a bit taboo in modern, western social constructs to presume women are in need of elevating their sense of self rectification. Not saying that many women themselves dont believe it necessary or healthy...just that its currently en vogue on social media to promote the female psyche as being without the need for change
Of course, but we live in an age where men are often discouraged from their masculinity, and are given either role models for faux femininity or Tate (faux masculinity). Aragorn is the best example of healthy masculinity because he embodies the Christian virtues 😊 Tolkien was Catholic and said that his story was a “thoroughly Christian work.” Men can practice many virtues and get close to resembling Aragorn but the virtue of religion is what we all really need. 😌
but u don't have to be christian to have morals and virtues. if u choose to do so there is also a strength of character because u're not doing it because you were instructed to do it or u do it out of fear, u're not faking it, it comes from u.
@@x3csP I didn’t say you did. However, I don’t think you know what the definition of virtue or religion is. Virtue is the habitual disposition to do good. If you aren’t religious, it’s very unlikely that you know what the good is. The ancient Greeks got close. But they still didn’t have any moral authority or understanding of God. Christians do not practice virtue out of fear, but out of love. A person who is fearful is unlikely to develop a good disposition. You cannot fake virtue. Either you are or are not excellent and it’s pretty obvious to everyone around you. Also, everyone who intends to become virtuous does it because they were instructed to-otherwise how would they know that being good is good and behaving badly is bad? Nothing good that we do comes from us. We are fallen. Everything good that we do comes from God. Finally, religion is a virtue. It means to render to God the worship that He is due, it is an act of justice. If you don’t pursue the virtue of religion, then you’re not going to be virtuous. Without the help of religion, you may discover some morals and virtue that exist because of natural law, but you’re not going to be able to attain the highest virtues.

@@lily-jane.400 I agree. Money is not everything, and God SHOULD be number one, but here's what reality looks like: people are witnessing and existing in a wicked world full of confusion. Men are told they are nothing unless they have money and status, and when a man pursues that, he's actually praised and rewarded in ways that when having neither of those things, the man is treated like shit until he dies and never gets any respect. Then you have women who hate a man for being successful, unless they get to benefit from that man's success. It seems to me like regardless of what you do, you're always going to be damned whether you did or didn't. No woman respects a man for forbearing making money (that would make him a low life), but then there's this side of the coin that makes a successful man into the devil. I don't think the God argument has much weight anymore. God abandoned us in a wicked land and we are expected to be righteous and holy. I don't know such a man or woman. We are all sinners except for Christ, and he is not one of us. He is a perfect embodiment of God, and it is a status you or I will never achieve. Be more forgiving of others so you too might be forgiven, because why work to expose the sins of another when God works so hard to cover yours? Or maybe it's all subjective when holy men can commit sins in the name of God, and ordinary men can't even make money and be their own free agent outside of spiritual practice without being deemed a dishonorable sinner. Their sins are just obvious to you because they cannot hide themselves from prying eyes. The love of money is as bad as loving a human being who doesn't love you back, which is why noone really needs to worry about what the other thinks if they are working on themselves. There is always going to be haters for being successful, and God does not interject, so either he approves, or he just doesn't care. Maybe let God be the judge if you want to preach Christian beliefs.
This is a very accurate analysis of Aragorn. I like this analysis! Protector, Provider, Leader all these traits and more I can see Aragorn having. Masculinity can mean many different things to many different men but in the end it comes down to what kind of masculine man you want to be.
Thank you so much for helping people man. If LOTR were real history there would be "historians" claiming aragon was gay for that. "Sure, he had a wife, but that was political. It says right here he loved his companions. Maybe it doesn't hold any weight, but my husband and I have been married for 25 years this year. We are building a legacy of good people, and when we die, we can both know that what we will be taking with us is what we managed to leave behind us. Men, be aragorn. Women, be eowyn. She and aragon are both people of courage, and Valor, and who are both willing to fight and die for the people they love and the principles they hold. That kind of passionate dedication to what you're building, the legacy you are leaving is hard to build, but worth it. Women who will love you to hell and back are not impressed by flash in the pan antics. We are impressed by living a life of integrity, kindness, honor, and courage. Men want the same in women. Be courageously honorable, even when it hurts.
Finding that deeper ideal that resonates with your soul is the hard part. Aragon had it easy, stand against the murdering, rapping evil. Our evil is sneaky, it makes it hard to build bonds of friendship, One woman, friendship, protecting the new you love is what it means to be a real man

The power of masculinity comes not from doing something to define it good or evil, it comes from courage to do something when it's necessary, even if alone.

No reasonable person can deny this and no one would bc he's so badass and not even the most shallow, misogynistic, womanizer would criticize him for showing real emotion. He's self aware and has moments of despair. But he doesn't dwell in it. He acknowledges and overcomes. He cries and despite being THE alpha of all alphas, it's completely accepted and understood. When Boromir dies... i get choked up just thinking about it. Then the really tough part is when he says to the hobbits "you bow to no one" and then all the kingdom of Men bow to four little people for their achievements. At same time... it's unobtainable. He's shown with some flaws, but he's as badass a human as any alive but he's like 80 yrs old. He lives to 250 or something like that. He obtains an immortal elven princess as his bride when her dad is like "yo, you'll only be worthy when you defeat ALL EVIL and provide lasting peace and justice ti the entire world, an ascend to the long empty throne of ancient kingdom that's all but destroyed at the moment" But he DOES it.

"Sure, he had a wife, but that was political. It says right here he loved his companions. He probably kissed them on the mouth"
"He grieved Boramirs death? They were obviously lovers. He was the older companion and no one thought it was gross because he wasnt the bottom. "

Enriching yourself doesnt make you a good man, but enriching others is what makes you their hero
This was an amazing video. WOW. So simple yet got the point across so perfectly. Now I understand what a good masculine role model is. Thank you for this🙏🏼
In the absense of a father figure, Aragorn became my role model.
Excellent choice
Aragorn was always my favourite movie character in all of pop culture. My whole life I've seen him as the ideal role model.
And he does all of this without belittling anyone else He is the picture of secure masculinity
Finally someone who appreciates Aragon besides me 😭🙏
You would love the CinemaTherapy breakdown of his character
He's the fucking GOAT
Bruh, I'm pretty sure everyone likes Aragorn 😅
everyone, even the casual fans of the lord of the rings appreciate king aragorn 👍
How is stuff like Harry Potter a more loved series today
And that's why i love Tolkiens universe. It's such a realistic place as far as emotion.
And that's why Hollywood is so eager to tear it down.
@@jimh472 and I have to wonder if that is why it's so popular is because people can relate to it better and the caricatures aren't just fake emotion.
She wasn't in Tolkien's universe. Hollywood added her so they could make the terrible "I am no man" joke.
Finding that deeper ideal that resonates with your soul is the hard part. Aragon had it easy, stand against the murdering, rapping evil. Our evil is sneaky, it makes it hard to build bonds of friendship,
One woman, friendship, protecting the new you love is what it means to be a real man

Aragorn's values are almost exactly what Andrew Tate advocates to his audience. I am shocked to see that everyone in the comments blindly listen to anti.prophet without realising that he is pushing a clear agenda against certain people.
Putting Dan Bilzerian and Andrew Tate in the same basket proves how fake news his videos are.
Aragorn is what I would classify as 'acting like a real man'. And I have reasons to believe that even Sauron respected him in some manner.
Sauron was afraid of him, and Aragorn knew it. That's why he showed himself and Andúril to him in the Palantir.
@@marbellaotaiza801 Not saying he didn't. Just have a feeling Sauron thought of him as a respectful opponent
@@ilyasharin1976 he's more demon now than Maia, twisted and evil. I don't know if he has any good feelings like respect, left. Mostly fear and greed and anger...

@@marbellaotaiza801 Good point. Yeah probably you're right. I don't think anyone that served Morgoth could have such a feeling.
To not respect Aragorn would to aggravate Tom Bombadil himself
It’s a death wish that not even The Nine can save you from
aragorn is the most masculin of al movies because he is humble yet steadfast in his believes
I don’t really take advice from things I see on the internet but I really respect you for this
Andrew tate is the best depiction of masculine insecurities in our world.

Much better than any feminist for sure. 😂

How, explain and give examples of these insecurities, not trying to bash you just want a proper explanation, we tend to follow the herd and repeat what they say...
I love what you talk about, because for once, someone on the internet decided to talk sense.
Masculinity has levels. Each man can reach different levels by his own efforts.
He was written to be the perfect man. Viggo played him perfectly
The other character like this is uncle Iroh from Avatar The Last Airbender, also his brother Ozai is the representation of toxic masculinity
agreed
Mmm a younger example I can think of as a women seems to be the main actor from “the night agent” he seems like a steady, kind, strong and intelligent fella😄
@@meh3722 from were
Iroh is definitely peak masculinity. That’s who I aspire to be as a older man.
That’s actually really good iron is goated ong
If you think about it, Aragorn is not special and doesn’t do anything really exceptional. EXCEPT that in every situation he makes the right and difficult choice. He is never arrogant or cruel. He respects those worthy of respect and rebukes unworthy rulers.
He also was constantly dunked on in the books for being ugly or scruffy looking basically, looking foul but feeling fair, as far as vibes go. But he still got the best girl anyways. And the books always commented on how he seemed to transform when he was talking about his honorable ancestors, the numenorean kings who were great leaders with great deeds. Not all of his ancestors were good leaders and are the exact reason why everyone is in the current situation
I mean you say that but he’s blessed with long life, is heir to the throne and can fight like 20+ guys at once so he’s not not special lol.
@@flimpeenflarmpoon1353 we are talking about a world like Middle Earth where every other creature can out live a human. Look at his wife, Arwen who would have outlived him by centuries if she did not give up her immortality. Same things goes for strength.
@@morgan4574: I believe Tolkien was going for a sort of homeless hobo vibe with Strider, which was actually appropriate for the nomad who wandered all over the place incognito. That character, put forth to keep others from discovering his true nature and abilities, is very different from the actual Aragorn, son of Arathorn, heir of Elendil, who cleans up very nicely! 👑
He is specially gifted in the books, not an ordinary man.
You have touched my heart with these words.
And you my friend are the best depiction of maskulinity!
dude i cannot explain how much it love your channel and your words you’re the middleground and perfectly reasonable opinion i have been yearning to find. it always feels like i have to agree with one extreme or another and especially as a young adult i am still trying to form my own opinions and thoughts. thank you for what you do
"Aragorn isn't motivated by h*es or bling" made me laugh so hard
Man, even if he is a fictional character, Aragorn was such a special character and the actor was so amazing, so divine.🙂🙏
"honest and respectful of the feelings of others" yall gotta keep this one in mind. There is a reason that emotional evidence is accepted in court alongside factual evidence.
Great take. My role model is Eowyn: even when rejected, she never seeks petty revenge. And when underestimated by men in her community, she finds the courage to do what her calling is while still helping other underestimated person...while never becoming arogant like the current Galadriel.
The "current" Galadriel is not from the books. It is not fair to compare a good interpretation of Éowyn with that mistake... Haha
How dare you malign the lady of light?!
You dare to speak ill of that brave, beautiful, stunning marysu...I mean my Yas Queen?!
I will CANCEL you!!!
"Masculinity isnt the opposite of femmininity, its the opposite of boyish immaturity"
100% agree. If you take care of the people around you, you earn blessings and good wishes.
I've been living this my entire life and it hurts. Feels like your living life upstream. But I know in my soul it's right. So I do it.
The power of masculinity comes not from doing something to define it good or evil, it comes from courage to do something when it's necessary, even if alone.
But what's more is to do something even if you don't HAVE to. Aragorn is 100% the ideal man.
He obtains an immortal elven princess as his bride when her dad is like "yo, you'll only be worthy when you defeat ALL EVIL and provide lasting peace and justice ti the entire world, an ascend to the long empty throne of ancient kingdom that's all but destroyed at the moment"
But he DOES it. With barely a scratch. He heals everyone like he's JC. He looks like Viggo Mortenson. He's confident but sensitive. He's we seek to be

Aragorn's actions earned him love, respect and loyalty from everyone he encountered. You can't buy that kind of clout.

That’s kinda like Levi in Attack on Titan but Aragorn has given everything to help his friends and Middle Earth
Aragorn was much more manly than any buff action hero or murderous secret agent or arrogant soldier I grew up with. When he took the crown on Minas Tirith with his kingdoms best wishes and the presence of all his friends I felt an emotion that twelve year old me didn't understand.
My parents thought I was scared by the orks or the big glowing evil eye but in truth I was overcome with pride at that final victory
