It is not the “Gans 356” as you said in the video. It is actually the “Gans Puzzle III”. The “Gans 356” is from 2015, while the Gans III is from 2012 or 13. Nice video though Cameron! I really like the new stile of videos! I just wanted to correct you ;) Have a Nice day!
Gans III is Gan's 3rd cube. That's what III stands for. There were 2 gan cubes before that

@@seankim2916 no. You can look up "Gans 3x3 tall5001 review". His puzzle is gans I or gans II. You can clearly tell it's not gans III because of its design.

Same thing happened to me but there was only a 2 secong lag
I mained my 2011 Dayan Zhanchi until I finally replaced it with the RS3M2020 a few weeks ago. 10 years of technology is a crazy difference.

@@xdjarvis47 I just got a regular one. I'm sure there are better setups available for people that can use them, but I'm super slow and even this is such a big upgrade for me that I am very happy with the purchase. I'd never even held a magnetic cube before this.
@@gilligan8255 Well yeah that's kinda true. J Perm RS3M 2020 is basically setup according to his preferences, plus it supports his channel. I basically bought it cause I liked his logo on it, and just cause I love his channel so wanted to support him.
Yeah there's no point getting a cube set up the same way one of the best cubers has it, because your own preferences would be different. It's no different from say putting on a pair of dancer's shoes and expecting to be transformed into as good a dancer as them, obviously that wouldn't happen. But yeah it is just a way to support his channel though. You could be a patreon backer too though

Only been doing this for less than a year and before this I thought Rubik’s had a monopoly on cube puzzles. Nice to learn a bit of history.

The very first GAN cube is GANS 1 from like 2009 or 2010. That's what it was called
I started cubing in like october-november 2021, so the first Gan cube I knew of was the 11 M pro lol
I don't have a Gans puzzle but I have an old Diansheng from about 2010. It has a very similar look to that cube although, instead of stickers, it's painted on. The paint is very much faded from it but it's cool to look at my cubes now and remember cubing on that old thing.

Don't know how much GAN evolved but I can definitely say SCS videos look like the best things ever to me now.
GAN will release a Square-1 and 5x5 in 2024, I have emailed them.

Really like the evolution reviews. There's been a lot of big steps in technology in a short time. I'm pretty sure there玝there's still much more to come...I wonder if anyone is looking into super high tech for the next wave, and what it could be?
ive wanted to see someone do a history of speedcubing series. ive seen a couple of youtubers take a stab at it like jrcuber a little bit in some of his vids, but when i started in like 04 the height of technology i knew about was silicone spray lol then eventually i had a blue speedcube diy kit i bought on ebay with cubesmith stickers on it (im kinda pissed i dont have it anymore) until i got to the zhanchi and thats all i used for years

Hi Cameron, love your videos. I am 50... and started cubing back in the 80's when cubing started. I recently started cubing again.. i first got the Yulong V2 M... soon after that the GAN 356M. And from the first turn i was an GAN FAN... Just love the GAN feeling . I will be getting the GAN 11 M Pro soon. I am by no means a speedcuber... ( 50 second solves ) But just love cubing..

What we think of the Gan 356 now will be thought of the Gan 11 in 10 years
I wasn’t even a cuber when the GAN 356 XS first came out!!
I've been cubing since 2015 and my first 3x3 cube was YJ cube if I'm not mistaken. I was able to solve 3x3 using beginner method. And then i "retired" from cubing and rubik's cube became a trend again on 2019. And then i decided to buy a new good 3x3 and finally i bought GAN 365 R non-magnetic. Until now i still main it but i wish i can buy a magnetic 3x3, maybe later.
I used to main a gan 356 r, then jperm signed it and I got a 356x because I didn’t want to rub off the signature
I had not even started cubing when this video came out I started at the start of summer brake and got my first speed cube a few weeks later

I have the 2010 one and the 2020 Gan 11m Pro UV Coated and there is such a big difference. BTW its the Gans 356 like you said (they were called Gans back in the day)

...you know honestly, because of how much Gan has simplified their mechanisms... the piece design is lowkey kinda the same... I mean, there is the honeycomb, adjustment, and squared-off corners of the newer pieces. But they have the same rough shape, no funky bumps or curves on the older Gan Puzzle, they're sorta just both... basic.

However this is a very good video very entertaining before I knew a lot about cubing I thought they were only like 4 years old and it was very surprised to see that one of gan's first cube had a sping system
