    a little dated using trombontine. i used superslick and super slick plus for 35 years (water soluable- does not cake up). then yamaha came out w their liquid tubes. affectionatly called "yama snot". is light years ahead. last for several days on the slide, even w heavy playing. will make a narly slide feel great. look out for 14th position

    • @untbonestud
      @untbonestud  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Michael Balogh - I use Super slick also, but I teach middle school band and I’ve found the trombotine to be the path of lease resistance for their first year. After they get a little bit smarter in 7/8th grade I move them to better stuff

      NO! Tuning slide lube is WAY too thick for a trombone slide.

    One of my fellow trombone players recently ran into a problem where her outer slide gets "stuck" on the stockings, resulting in her not being able to move the slide to its full extent. We examined the slide very carefully and found no imperfections, and even got the opinion of a perfessional, but it seems as though there is nothing actually wrong. We tried multiple different lubricants and even bathed her trombone in an attempt to fix this issue, but nothing seems to work. Any advice?

      Mf might just be broken. I tripped with my bone had the same problem so send it to a shop to get it fixed I guess that’s what I had to do

    • @tamasfoldesi2358

      Maybe the inside of the outer slide is scratched up a bit at some spots, or the brace wasn't adjusted properly before soldering.
