Because its made in China its shit, correct? That is what you are saying? Personally I don't trust any guitar manufacture that puts May Cause Cancer Stickers on their guitars like you do. Seriously
Buying one of these on line is like trying to buy marijuana in Texas... What's the big deal? If the quality is so bad then why would people buy them. Seriously would you rather have a Tesco instead of the fake BH flying V ?
I did some work on a Kit/DIY Flying V Style Guitar that is not only much larger than a standard Gibson Flying V but also utilizes the Fender Scale Length (25.5"). A Gibson Flying V is about 19" from the bottom of each wingtip. The Kit/DIY instrument I worked on was almost 22" for the same measurement. The larger body also greatly increases the overall length of the guitar. Biggest PITA was finding a case for this style/size guitar, I spent almost a week looking with the help of my Sweetwater Sales Rep. and finally found a nicely padded Gig-bag originally intended for a Bass Guitar. Aside from being a Chibson style guitar this example is pretty cool. It would greatly benefit from a proper setup and new pickups/electronics. Let me know if you need a case for this guitar Austin, I can go through my records and send you the model number.
@@pissonguitarcenter8204 No one, even Trogly, is saying that a guitar is “crap” JUST because it is made in China (or anywhere else outside the US for that matter). The Purple ESP M-series Buckethead used in the mid-90s will always be the secondary guitar I associate with him after the custom Les Paul. Look up the 2-29-1996 performance of Scraps to see him using it. Also the Praxis concert in Poland. He also used an early 80s Ibanez Rocket Roll II that was on some amazing Praxis live shows. His tone in the 90s on those two guitars was incredible.
I was surprised to hear you say KFC was not happy with Buckethead wearing their packaging as KFC has been running Buckethead promotions at cricket games in Australia pre-Covid and now a Buckethead at home promotion
@@scottbogfoot yeah thats what i was talking about Theres alot of cursed thing you make with the made to measure program Like lets say A les paul with a reversed explorer headstock and a florentine cut give that all access thing and a bfg pickup layout Oh can't for get the Floyd rose
Good question. They actually did make a Flying V with a non-reverse Explorer headstock in the 80's (the Flying V XPL). They also made various guitars with reverse and non-reverse explorer headstocks (the M-III, the Flyer Pro II, the Les Paul XPL, etc.). Unfortunately, Gibson's design department seems very risk-adverse in recent years.
Okay so i'm doing some logical guesswork here since i've been interested in the KFC V for years, but going off my knowledge of Jackson guitars, BHs Jackson isn't a Y2KV at all, in-fact it's a complete one of kind body style just for Buckethead. What it looks like is a baritone (I assume), Jackson Double Rhoads, with the Y2KV/Gibson-esque body rounding. Both Coop and KFC are 26 frets too which is why the neck pickup looks so squashed toward the bridge pickup, with no room for anything but a single coil if you were to put a middle pickup in. So to explain, the Double Rhoads is a Jackson custom shop exclusive that you can't seem to even order on the normal Jackson CS order form. And it's exactly what you think it is, it's a mirrored RR, so the horns are longer than a normal King V, it's massive, and was the inspiration for the King V. Recently, Pat from Cannibal Corpse, and Mick from Slipknot both have them, and Jackson seem to put out super limited runs of them on rare occasions, and to show off at NAMM etc. It was originated by Dave Linsk of Overkill in the 80s who asked for "RR wings" on the CS form, then Robbin Crosby from Ratt wanted one, and soon after he got his and everyone started wanting one, Jackson came out with the production model King V which was a shortened down version of the DR suited for regular sized people, and apparently named after Robbin's nickname "King" (cause he was really tall) because he really popularised the Jackson V while playing his DR live with Ratt in their heyday. So the Double Rhoads was the precursor to the King V and was never in mass production, and as such are pretty rare and expensive. But the reason I think BHs is a DR/Y2KV hybrid is the way the body tapers up into the neck, and the V shape and depth. The Y2KV has that '50's Gibson V thing where it really flattens off horizontal where the neck joins the body so there's nothing in the way of the upper frets, whereas Buckets V just keeps on going up to about the 20/21 fret like the DR does (and later King V). The DR normally has beveled edges and is pointy, which is where the Y2KV body rounding comes into play and why most people call it a Y2KV. The V also doesn't cut as deep into the body as the Y2KV does, and the V spreads more like the DR. The distance from the bridge to bottom of body is also more akin to the DR than a Y2KV, plus I don't think i've ever seen a hardtail DR, whereas the Y2KV with a Floyd was like gold dust, and the Floyd was almost falling out the arse end of the guitar because there was almost no body left once it was routed in which is not at all how BHs guitar is. Buckethead's control layout is completely unlike any Y2KV or DR that i've ever seen though. And just incase you're curious, the pickups in the KFC V are DiMarzio X2Ns, ridiculously high output monsters, no clue what's loaded in Coop. What i'm trying to get at here, is that Buckethead's Jackson Vs seem to be far more of a custom job than one might think at first glance. To me the Jackson KFC-V is a custom shop, 26 fret, probably baritone, Double Rhoads, w/ Y2KV body rounding. Obviously the only way to really know what's going on is to see the order sheets for both Coop and KFC but I doubt that will ever happen. Hot-rodding this thing with decent hardware/electronics might be a fun idea for a video. Even installing a proper arcade switch should be fairly simple; just ream out the original hole with a step drill.
Because gaming is bigger than ever and guitar is the opposite. Now everyone prefers garbage music. They could do it but they care about profit margins above being a cool company.
Someone probably ordered it custom(from China) and then did some work on it. I have seen enough of these Chibsons to know even they wouldn't send it out with taped up splices. Solder is cheap and the workers know how to wire them properly. Really the only problem is the Jackson branding since it was never an official signature release. The bridge would work fine if set up properly. Whoever had it didn't know what they were doing obviously, hence the taped up splices and half assed attempt at blocking the trem. For about $4-500 they will build a guitar however you want them too based off a photo/instructions. If these were actually for sale I am sure they would be seen pretty often because there are always people willing to buy a cheap knockoff when they can't afford the real thing.

Gut the electronics, swap in some new PUs and a bridge, use a bit of red nail polish and change Jackson to Packson or something. I love the idea of a kill switch, but I would have to change my style entirely. Or maybe I'm not thinking creatively enough...
You wouldn’t have to change your style, it’s just another ‘tool in the shed’ , I threw in a kill switch on one of my builds and thought I don’t use it much, it’s great to have it and I really enjoy the hell out of it when I do use it.

You're improving, Austin. You're capable of even making a junker sound great. In fact, you could tempt me to get q real Jackson in the V shape.
Hey Trogly, nice video, man. Just want to point something out: the writing on the Floyd Rose style bridge on that guitar doesn't says it is a real Floyd Rose. It actually says it is licensed under Floyd Rose patents, which people use to call 'Licensed Floyd Rose'. Licensed Floyd Roses tend to be garbage, but if you look into older Ibanez Floyd Rose Style bridges, they'll have that too, since Ibanez only slightly modified the original Floyd Rose design. I'm a big fan of the channel, hope you enjoy the comment. Cheers from Brazil!

I'm pretty sure that "Floyd Rose" is a from a company called Dragonfire. They aren't too bad for $60, but I ordered a Gotoh 1996t to throw in to replace it.
the thing about the stripes is to my knowledge KFC hasn't used that style of bucket in 20 years ot more. So honestly I think they could get away with it, might have minimal royalties to pay which would ultimately drive consumer price up. At the end of the day, if the get the specs right people will buy it.
hey trogly, just to clarify im not sure if you know this but kfc loves buckthead and dosnt mind the whole branding, the reason he wore the white bucket is because he ran out of the 90s style buckets he had and a fan hooked him up with a bunch around 2012 and thats when he started wearing the kfc style ones again.
Bought one of these a couple months off feebay. Not bad for the price…$300 shipped. Depending on seller you can negotiate a little bit. Hate Floyd’s but love Buckethead so went for it. Plan on blocking the Floyd and upgrading Pups.
5:13 pretty sure KFC never has said anything to buckethead about it and he just switched to the white bucket because he decided to then he went back to the 90's funeral bucket awhile after he was done with the white one P.S. if I'm wrong and kfc has said something can someone let me know
Those pups have the same markings as the ones the Fireflys use, although I've only seen the FC-50s on those. Wonder if there's a reason they don't use the 52s

Tesi has good kill switches. Great customer service too.
just came to see trog play some bucket licks in the demo. not disappoint
There’s a warmth and gutsy quality to this one. Nice
Austin, you gotta upgrade/fix it and make it more worth playing! Fake as it is, that thing is awesome! Great video! Solid start to 2021 :)
the thing about the stripes is to my knowledge KFC hasn't used that style of bucket in 20 years ot more.
Thanks for this vid! That guitar totally caught my eye on your 2020 vid!
The crunch sounded pretty dang good.
Yessssss, Bucket!
Bought one of these a couple months off feebay. Not bad for the price…$300 shipped. Depending on seller you can negotiate a little bit. Hate Floyd’s but love Buckethead so went for it. Plan on blocking the Floyd and upgrading Pups.
Big fan of buckethead and I had no idea that that was not in production wish they would
I don't care if this guitar is fake, i would love to get one and have some fun modding it! Man i love the look of this thing.
Last time I was this first the les Paul had two pointy cutaways
Wooo! Trogly playing Bucket riffs!
I want a baritone Gibson les Paul, but I have no idea where to get one.
There was one one eBay a week ago. Probably find one on reverb too. Better be packing a wad of cash. Gibson baritones don’t come cheap.
Maybe your guitar plug is pulling away from the jack contact intermittently. I’ve see that happen more than once with cheap input jacks.
Good morning, nice review. Can you please tell me what that opening little riff was? Thanks
It might not be real but you made it sound great.
I’m not sure if it’s still for sale but buckethead was selling this iconic guitar back in April
Awe, the sound brings back memories... Of the garbage equipment we used as kids in garage bands🤣
Happy new year man! Hope you’re well
tone demo sounded better than usual
Pickups sounded much better that I had thought.
Woah brotha crazy to see ya over here, hope you're well brother!
@@GrauFPV hahah good to see ya bro, same! Yeah, I'm a geetar geek lol
@@BSIII yeah me too haha you should come check our new song brotha
Great video mate. Very educational
5:13 pretty sure KFC never has said anything to buckethead about it and he just switched to the white bucket because he decided to then he went back to the 90's funeral bucket awhile after he was done with the white one
P.S. if I'm wrong and kfc has said something can someone let me know
Your background music sometimes sounds like a phone ringing, drives me nuts! 🤣
not really a fan of it but still cool because BUCKET
Those pups have the same markings as the ones the Fireflys use, although I've only seen the FC-50s on those. Wonder if there's a reason they don't use the 52s
Buckethead is a mind blowing guitarist, a modern day Jimi Hendrix if you like.
Had a feeling those Buckethead Les Pauls would have a very district sound to them
Oh I've wanted one of these for so looong
6:35 Davie: *wise words*
Do a build video! New pickups, New electronics, real Floyd rose, locking tuners, relocate strap button etc.
Hey, would love for you to review a Agile al-3200
I saw Buckethead play the nunchucku in Oakland NYE Y2K. It was pretty chickin chuckin cool.
Wang jangleing!!!!! THAT'S why I love Troglys guitar show! ........so awesome.
Sounds like you have been practicing, keep it up
This actually sounds better than most new guitars by expensive makers.,... Seriously.
" Night of the Slunk" Woo.. Not too shabby Mr Trogly. Should have played the real Buckethead LP also for a quick comparison.
Funny that if you look closely, the output jack is on a different location compared to the original one
Can't you order a custom from Jackson? That would be sick
Holy crap! This is awesome!
Dave Mustaine has said he hates three on a side guitars because they are harder to tune live.
That’s what he gets for playing a hardtail 🤘🏻
Saw him play both Vs with Praxis in Knitting Factory... Two shows. Fantastic.
I know aj good (@House of Masks) would be happy to get that guitar for his buckethead land, but NOPE! He’ll be really mad if he finds out that there’s no signature model for this guitar!
Wow cool guitar!!!
do you know what the 50 and 52 means on those pickups, I do. the output is in a bad location for the V style.
The “FC” stands for “Fried Chicken”
great distorted tone and playing on this one!
i was actually wondering about this
