    I want to love it but I just can't. The Husky 701 is at the sweet spot for power vs weight vs service intervals. Come on Ducati, make a proper Supermoto like the Aprilia sxv550 of yore.

      I don't think it's something they know how to do. KTM has a bunch of dirt bikes in their lineup, so all it takes is minor tweaks. It was incongruous for Aprilia. Brilliant effort, though.

      @@ExpatonTwoWheels No one knows how to do anything until they try. That's what I want them to do. Take a swing at making a better sxv550 with modern engine engineering. I'll put down a deposit, sight unseen.

      I guess Ducati and Aprilia are the only ones likely to try. With emissions where they are, I doubt it even makes sense anymore. I saw someone proposing Ducati team up with TM. They have the necessary expertise and platforms. KTM is invested in singles, but there are rumors they will be coming out with smaller parallel twins. From a packaging standpoint, it makes a lot of sense for a 500 twin.

      701 seems to have its own issues too ive seen if only the 450 was street legal!, I find the Hypermotard to be a good compromise between a full supermoto and a large naked especially here in Australia where Urban you want a supermoto performance but when youre on highways or country roads its happy up at speed and can tour a few more KM's.

      @@stuka101 What issues? I have 7500 miles on my 2017 701 and no problems. Are you thinking of the last gen LC4?

    I bought a hypermotard in thailand in 2014. It’s a beautiful bike and fun too. But from the first month i had problem with the starter. And it never stop. Electrical problem which they can’t find where it from. And i met so many others customers in the waiting room with the same problem. Beautiful bike BUT a bike you don’t trust is not fun. Sometime start. Sometime not.... i’am afraid to do long trip because the poor level of reliability of this bike. In 2014 i read that ducati were more reliable so i bought one. but it doesn’t. THIS IS NOT TRUE AT ALL. Don’t buy a bike you don’t trust! I had many honda and yamaha and never had problems. It’s the first and last Ducati bike i will buy. I want to resell it but in thailand it’s not easy. Specially with a seat bike so high and people want to give you peanuts to get it.

    Absolutely brilliant bike. I’ve had my SP for about a month and it’s a ripper. Much torquier than my old 690 SMCR, much faster and less maintenance than my 450 SMR. I think it’s the perfect supermoto style road bike. A little heavy for smashing it on the track. It really has its own niche, definitely not a traditional supermoto but has all of the fun from motard ergonomics without being limited to less than 90mph.

      Yeah, is a Hypermoto instead of a supermoto. I can see why people like them. Nothing like an SMR 450/510. Different tool. Wish I could afford one, but I just can't.

    Hilarious to see the longer travel suspension for these Ducati bios to just chill on the highway and Starbucks…. What’s the point? It’s not a dialed motorcycle. It’s a piss poor supermoto. It’s definitely shit off road.
    Perhaps it’s like a waaay better FZ-07?

    Hi there, I am a new rider and I'm looking at the new 2019 Hypermotard 950 as a first bike (ride height's not a concern).I just wanted to get some thoughts from the community about whether or not it's a good choice (tips and more info about it)Really loved the virdict you ended with👍🏼

      Hey man can't stop you from getting it, But I'd say start off with a smaller CC engine and learn the basics and get your motorcycle sense up then treat yourself to a bigger bike once youve had enough of a smaller bike (Wont take long :) )
