What I really like about your videos is you did your do diligence to find out what your gems ans minerals really Are! I appreciate you being honest with your audience and not just make a clickbate video! Thank you!
"I think its glass" that was all he needed to say he wasnt 100% sure of anything good on ya for going to a second appraiser and congrats on an amazing find.
That appraiser was such a nerd and I loved it. He seemed genuinely excited explaining light refraction through materials. If you do what you love you'll never work a day in your life.
Ok...."Ninety Second Airborne Man", We got your back on this one...Perfect example of my beautiful uncle with all of this knowledge, who passed last Halloween.... Rest his "un-rested soul", however still posesses our gems and meteorites.....didn't know "Squat" about what he was talking about.....so it goes without speaking any farther....."Much Respect Klesh"!....We all are "ever so close"......The Foothills Gang. Oh yea! and "Have a Beautiful Day!
Haha. What a rush! I was like... the expert was going to say Yes.. but it all came crashing down. What a roller coaster ride. Still nice scores on all the other stuff. This was a fun video to watch. Thanks for posting Shane. Have a great weekend. BTW.. saw a comment below about flowers. Hmmm must be nice to live in legal Colorado.
A jeweler won't (if he knows what he's doing) give you a very good price. Why should he? As a goldsmith/gemologist/jeweler myself, I can buy any stone I need for a wholesale price. Your average jeweler, sells for three to five times the wholesale cost, and have the piece within two to three days. Why then should the jeweler put money in something he doesn't have a buyer for, unless he can get it for a steal?
Maybe I'm wrong but so many didn't read the 2nd appraisal and that it is REAL! What an amazing find but you worked and kept trying rather than giving up. That's the Shane Klesh I have come to know thru all your videos. 💙💛🌎☮🤗💓
Good score Shane, best I have done was a custom gold ring with 3 emeralds from a pawnshop for $45, it appraised at $580. The guy at the pawnshop thought it was fake because of the flaws in the emeralds. Should have seen his face when I told him that was how I knew it was real....after I bought it of course. Got to get back into trolling the second hand stores and pawnshops it can be fun and it is mindful activity too. ;)
What an awesome video! Definitely thinking about doing some treasure hunting now! It would be cool to make a video with some general tips on garage sale hunting! Thanks!
You guys are so cool for truth seeking. I believe I had a white gold aquamarine I wore for years and when I had to haul it jeweler said it was a silver ring and no more. It still hurts today.
This was a fun experience. I was excited for you. So, you have a pretty piece of glass that you can sink into a fish bowl......maybe even in a treasure chest.....WAIT....second appraisal? It IS aquamarine? Well, now....sink it into that fish bowl for safe keeping. LOL.
Yea for sure! I've been getting really lucky doing these yard sales here in Colorado. Lots of gold, silver and other items to be re-sold, plus it's just another thing to stay focused on while treasure hunting!
After so many saying they thought it to be real...I couldnt settle on one test-person...I'd have 1 or two others test also...not knowing of first ! Kinda makes you think they dont all exactly know for sure what theyre doing themselves all the time ...fun video !
I made a Great Score @ an estate sale last year. Went on the first day and saw they had a collection of US constitutional silver coins, Junk Silver. They were high the first day, but i went back right before they closed up on the final day and made them an offer for what they had left. With some negotiations I was able to get 8 pounds of pre-64 US mint halves, quarters, and dimes for...........Wait for it !..........$300 cash. Worth well over $3,000 now. But a few months later my wife out did me BIG TIME. She scored 9 oz of 14K gold casting grains at an estate sale, the women who passed was a jewelry designer and maker, she cast her own bracelets, settings, and bezels. The people who were running the sale had no idea what "Casting Grains" were and they asked my wife if she thought $25 was fair for the two bags, one was an oz the other had 8 oz in it. Over eight thousand dollars in 14 K Gold
Goodwill can also be a gold and silver goldmine, I bought one jewelry lot for around $10-$20 and inside was a diamons and saphire pearl necklace I almost sold for $2000 before it broke pre shipping, in that same lot was 4 other necklaces worth around another thousand dollars......another time I got a lot and everything totaled around $6000 and another time they had wrapped in celophane a set of forks, knives, spoons, etc I got it on it's sale day for just $5 I scrapped most of it for nearly $1000 and it's sale value online was almost 8x that.... goodwill is good for bulk finds and tagsales good for finding hundreds of dollars in value for under a dollar lol
Yeah, with the silver metal coin necklace, I found one of my better finds a similar way, the chain was corroded and cheap fake japan but the pendant on it ended up being 14kt white gold with an actual diamond on it....I buy so many things whether they look real or not simply because the small price for the gamble. That same day of tag saling I bought some tie tack and bars and one was 14kt white gold with real pearls and sapphires....also that day spent $10 buying a whole box of jewelry and it had a 10kt chain, diamond engagement ring without center stone, an attocha shipwreck coin and more......As for the large gemstone you found it's really hard to tell if those are real or not. I will always buy them because. Though I know china produces a ton of fakes back many years ago those type of stones were cut and people would bring them back from when overseas or during war. I've found both real and fake ones but $3k-$5k though they may think that is the value street value no matter what is like 1/10th of that in my experience I've had a stone appraise around $2000 but had trouble even finding $100 for it. Just keep your eyes peeled for gemstones though cause you could get a huge score one day from something people think is fake (I know a guy that inherited a kashmir sapphire and it sold for over 100k
I also purchased some aquamarine from an auction site online because this video made me LOVE this gem so much haha mine is a 4.95 carat stone so not nearly as massive as yours but it too is emerald cut and flawless just gorgeous 😍 ❤
I’ve had to go through similar situations with stones that came out of family jewelry, what I was thought was a synthetic alexandrite turned out to be a purple sapphire. Smaller stones were color changing sapphires. Love stones.
I think a pair of earrings I bought at a charity shop are actually color changing garnets. I took a photo of them and one was purple other was red while to the eye they always look a pretty uniform red
neggispringfeild I would take them and get them checked out. Mine ended up being worth a lot more then I expected, the color changing sapphire you can actually see it change when turned in the light, it can be grey, purple, green. Also depends of what I wear with them, they were 1 carat each and set in yellow gold, I could not get them out of the setting without risk of damaging the stones so I left them in the gold and had them put on French clip white gold earrings with diamonds on the edge, they are very pretty and appraised at 5k. The big stones which were the purple sapphires are currently not set, one is 12.5 CT’s and the other is like 13.65 CT’s if I remember correctly and they are not worth as much. They are about the size of Shane’s blue stone. And cut the same.
I have been a goldsmith/gemologist for about fifty years. If I were to take a guess, considering what is out there on the market, I would strongly suspect the blue stone is synthetic blue topaz. There are several different natural stones that look pretty much like that one, aqua is of course one, but that is the most common.
That is why I try learning gem testing methods myself. I have a double refraction tester but besides being able to tell glass from synthetic/real gemstones I'm still a bit clueless. I've been buying rubies that appear real since I was a small child but still cant tell synthetic from natural stones even with equipment
@@neggispringfeild well apparently in this case being able to tell what is glass would have made you superior to 9 different Jewelers! That still blows my mind!
I have what looks like a huge bright red ruby set into a what looks like a gold cufflink but can't travel far enough to get it tested. It's very old and doesn't look like glass or synthetic material. I might make a video showing it to see if anyone will have any ideas.
Man I wish I saw this a year ago. I love that moon and star ring and mine that I wore for 10 years got lost in the sink of a bar and I’ve been searching for one since.
If I found an expensive item at a garage sale and the ppl who sold it didn't realize what they had and they poor ppl, I'd personally check up on these ppl if they financially struggling and I'd give it back to them to help them out 😇
Since so many people wanted me to get it appraised, I did and here's the results. th-cam.com/channels/W59FgUrYH16PeAf1Ttczng.htmlcommunity?lb=Ugzy2aVQzE-47ZxNvm54AaABCQ
Awesome video dude. Ive found some cool stuff at garage sales. On a side note, has anyone been to that diamond mine state park? Im thinking about taking a trip. Might be something cool for you to do a video on. Unless ive somehow missed it.

Congratulations!!!👍
Was wondering how 9 jewelers could be so wrong. Make sure you never take anything to that appraiser again, that’s for sure…
Wow that's astonishing! Congratulations persisting!
And didn't you say in the cars the stone was tossed in for FREE :)
Wow awesome find man
Why was this comment posted weeks or months ago you ask? Patreon gets early access to all my videos! Thanks to everyone for watching!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
@whosever fungus Ok!
I really do appreciate that your videos are always complete and not littered with sponsors or "find out next time".
And no clickbait.
My man. You just made me get a raw emerald tested... Thank you... It made me $480 and a walking liberty!
What I really like about your videos is you did your do diligence to find out what your gems ans minerals really Are! I appreciate you being honest with your audience and not just make a clickbate video! Thank you!
Dishonesty and click bait might make more views and subscribers but I don’t care about that. I just like making videos. Thanks for watching
He went to Jared. So many ladies just fainted.
"I think its glass" that was all he needed to say he wasnt 100% sure of anything good on ya for going to a second appraiser and congrats on an amazing find.

Good point!
yet he was wrong...was he trying to get the stone...
You must have traveled to middle earth for the last appraisal, that gentleman looks identical to Bilbo Baggins.

Thanks for teaching me about the process of identifying stones
You should try sell it to one of those jewlers for a good price :D
A jeweler won't (if he knows what he's doing) give you a very good price. Why should he? As a goldsmith/gemologist/jeweler myself, I can buy any stone I need for a wholesale price. dude im so happy you found that i was getting so excited for you bro awesome content every time
Klesh! Love these yard sale vids. Especially since the yard sales are local!
That is absolutely insane. Literally a dream find. I will spend my whole career of treasure hunting trying to find something of this caliber.
A nice video Shane. Good analysis of gold and silver. This topic was very interesting.
Greetings Peter
What a crazy journey!! So enjoy your channel since discovering you from Dan Hurd & Pioneer Pauly. Much love & gratitude from Maine!
Great video. I really enjoyed your research process. Thanks for sharing. Would love to see more of these garage sale videos.
Dude that's crazy! Jewelers were ready to pay you for that piece of glass. Just shows you how tricky gemstones are.
Awesome day of finds! I would hold onto that gem just in case. It looks awesome!!
Awesome finds Shane. Thanks for video.
Maybe I'm wrong but so many didn't read the 2nd appraisal and that it is REAL!
What an amazing find but you worked and kept trying rather than giving up. That's
the Shane Klesh I have come to know thru all your videos. 💙💛🌎☮🤗💓
Wow you got bilbo to appraise your gemstone. That’s pretty cool!
I just love watching your adventures
Really enjoyed that! Hope to see more yard sale adventures.
Great video. My sister has been yard sale shopping for years. She always makes money.
People just don't know what they have.
Good score Shane, best I have done was a custom gold ring with 3 emeralds from a pawnshop for $45, it appraised at $580. So 7 jewelers thought it was real....go visit them again and see how many would buy the stone :-)
After the 3rd I would have just sold it it'd the price was right. No need to find out they're wrong
Yeah no shit
That’s a clit 💍
Nice hunt, it's always exciting to hunt for stuff at yard sales, on mans junk is another man's treasure!
Wow man seeing Reed and Barton is crazy! That company started in my hometown in MA. Cool to see people with their silver products.
Hello from Malaysia !!!! Always love your videos !
What an awesome video! Definitely thinking about doing some treasure hunting now! It would be cool to make a video with some general tips on garage sale hunting! Thanks!
Wow! That's great..so happy for your finds..
So interesting and informative.. thankyou so much for sharing
Would it be worth it to get a second appraisal? Its insane 7 Jewelers would say that its real!
That's what I was thinking too
9 not 7... 9!!!
8am q
Nice finds Shane! I bought a 2 carat diamond necklace set in platinum for 2 bucks this summer, as well as 5 sterling necklaces for 5 bones!
You have the skills!
I plan to hit up a few estate sales and garage sales tomorrow myself. Ya never know!
Awsome finds Shane. Always enjoying your work. Hope to see you soon for coin roll hunts
You guys are so cool for truth seeking. I believe I had a white gold aquamarine I wore for years and when I had to haul it jeweler said it was a silver ring and no more. It still hurts today.
Dude, great video. Love the channel.
Beautiful! I would still put it in your collection because it has a good story behind it
This was a fun experience. I was excited for you. So, you have a pretty piece of glass that you can sink into a fish bowl......maybe even in a treasure chest.....WAIT....second appraisal? It IS aquamarine? Well, now....sink it into that fish bowl for safe keeping. LOL.
Man I've got to do this, Zoe would love it.
Yea for sure! I've been getting really lucky doing these yard sales here in Colorado. Lots of gold, silver and other items to be re-sold, plus it's just another thing to stay focused on while treasure hunting!
I thought it had to be a real stone~I am so glad for You. It is such a unique stone. Your little gift from God. So Cool.
When you went to the actual apprasial certified gemologist, I was totally geeking out!
Still a good haul shane!! We look forward to the next!
This video was fun to watch. I forgot how much you could find at a yard sale let alone what you can find 😆
After so many saying they thought it to be real...I couldnt settle on one test-person...I'd have 1 or two others test also...not knowing of first ! Kinda makes you think they dont all exactly know for sure what theyre doing themselves all the time ...fun video !
It's totally possible! Thanks for watching
I like the new music. Love the hunting for treasure videos !
That aqua is really well cut. I don't think anyone would have spent the kind of time necessary to do that for cz or glass.
It really isn't. The whole time I was thinking if that's aqua it's cut very poorly.

You're right! $8972 right now.
Exciting video! Excellent return on your $28.
There is a good size neighborhood in the springs that shuts down the roads and you have to walk through the neighborhood. It's pretty cool.
Oh it's a yard sale neighborhood.
Great Video Shane!! I love your yard sale adventures! Learning a lot from ya!
Hi Shane, Nice video. Classic truck rescue uses some of the same music. Nice and mellow! Cool. GL buddy! JJ
Thanks 👍
It’s funny and ironic that you got the aquamarine gem added in for free 😆
Precious metals are weighed in Troy ounces. The 90.67 grams is 2.91511 troy ounces
👍
Ahh man! You missed the chance for “let’s take a look at it in the pan” when you threw everything on the table! Thank you for the video sir!
The item marked Reed and Barton is a Christmas ornament, it's hollow and was made in different shapes for a number of years.
Yep! I've found my share of treasure at Thrift stores as well as seen in some previous videos. Thanks for the comment!
Just goes to show that it pays to get a professional appraisal done..
Thanks for sharing this Shane..
Cheers Famo59 👍🤓🍺⛏

Hello Shane. Great find
A good choice for checking for gems as well is the school of mines or the GIA institute.
amazing find!!!! Great video!

There are several different natural stones that look pretty much like that one, aqua is of course one, but that is the most common.
Hi Jerry, I did end up sending it to a GIA appraiser and it came back as Aqua valued it $4,500
Way to persevere. First, excitement; then disappointment; then finally true excitement :)
The Swedish medal is pretty cool! I know some of the older medals can sell for quite a bit too.
I'M JUST HERE TO SEE WHO IS FIRST. LOL GREAT FINDS.... THE G.I.A GUY WAS REALLY COOL. I HAD THOUGHT OF GETTING A G.I.A CERTIFICATION MANY MOONS AGO.
Is anyone gonna comment on how this was posted a month ago???
Can't you weigh it then use the Archimedes water diffusion to determine it's mass then consult some chart?
This was a really interesting video! Thank you.
Quite surprised how people don't test all the jewellery before putting it up for sale in a yard sale, I'd get every bit tested before I sell it. 😂🤣
Thanks for the shout out on the music man! 🤘🏼
Sick! One of my favorites! I like the info too!
I see you have been weighing your flowers on that scale aswell Colorado life :)
Multi-use scale, yes indeed.
@KleshGuitars 👍🍻🇳🇿 I remember when Paulie had the same issue 🤣🎖.
Lol @limey
Cheers for another great video mate 😎🍻
So close to a big win... keep on hunting!
That was a great vid , I’m fired up now to go looking around the yard sales tomorrow , keep up the fine work , peace ✌️ 💀🌴
I'm very surprised and a little disturbed that 9 different Jewelers said it... 9!!!
That is why I try learning gem testing methods myself. I have a double refraction tester but besides being able to tell glass from synthetic/real gemstones I'm still a bit clueless. Nice thorough testing you had done!
Always love the videos but I have to ask you about the 82nd Airborne shirt you were wearing. Glad you support and represent the military my friend!!!
Of course I’ll represent my old unit until I die Airborne all the way!
Man I wish I saw this a year ago. I love that moon and star ring and mine that I wore for 10 years got lost in the sink of a bar and I’ve been searching for one since.
Pretty awesome video. I should start looking a little more closely at the jewelry section at sales
You should!
Sweet finds man! That guy at the end tho... Cheers, Heidi and Conan Gold Prospecting
If I found an expensive item at a garage sale and the ppl who sold it didn't realize what they had and they poor ppl, I'd personally check up on these ppl if they financially struggling and I'd give it back to them to help them out 😇
I AM SO JEALOUS RIGHT NOW!!! 😍 LOL!! I LOVE HITTING UP YARD SALES MY BEST FIND WAS A 10K GOLD RING WITH A SMALL DIAMOND FOR $0.50!!
awesome video Shane :) just wish that aqua marine was real for ya :)
Since so many people wanted me to get it appraised, I did and here's the results. th-cam.com/channels/W59FgUrYH16PeAf1Ttczng.htmlcommunity?lb=Ugzy2aVQzE-47ZxNvm54AaABCQ
As someone who works for an estate sale company, we presort all metals. You won't buy anything real less than spot, usually spot plus 25% for jewelry.
Yard sales usually don't have estate sale companies come in to run the show, fortunately.
I landed a huge uncut Emerald.. good luck🍀
The way that guy on the pine said alright
Awesome video dude. Ive found some cool stuff at garage sales. On a side note, has anyone been to that diamond mine state park? Im thinking about taking a trip. Might be something cool for you to do a video on. Unless ive somehow missed it.
That first jeweller you talked to over the phone sounded like he was fed up with life! 🤣
