Dude, thanks for the sidewalk smipping tip. I found .022 grams of gold, and what appears to be a little emerald from the gutter. Haven't had it tested yet but it don't matter to me. I was so totally shocked when it appeared in my pan...
Again, thanks for the tip, got me an new cordly vaccume coming today...

Take the watch apart. There must be an inscription on the inside of back case. Looks like 1920’s or 1930’s. Possible au or pt plated metal.
That Sapphire watch has my initials! It’s beautiful! Also sapphires are my birthstone! Awesome find! 😁

I'm a jeweler. I have a woman who is notorious for finding awesome stuff. She brings it to me for testing, cleaning, or repair. She brought me; a Native Amer 1966( I googled artist) mother of pearl & green turquoise spring cuff. 3 Toz sterling. Missing some pieces of MP. I bought a sheet of fret board MP 5mm thick, that matched color/ iridescence as best I could. I hand cut, shaped, stripped, cleaned, refit everything. Turned out gorgeous. She brings me Opal & diamonds. Bought a nice pc for $0.10 on a whim. It was a Aussie opal dblt in solid 14k. Score.
Open the back of that watch (or just about any watch) and look on the inside for indication of karat gold, sterling, filled, etc.

You need to open the watch and look at the inside of the case back - it will tell you there what the case is made of.

Those were some really good finds. Hard to believe it’s not gold when they used real diamonds. It’s a beautiful piece. Rock on man!

I went to a yard sale last summer, that my wife said looked like it was all junk, and found 12 10 inch tall mexican made sterling silver goblets for a dollar each, they were really fancy looking engraved and weighed around 10 ounces each! That was a once in a life time find for me. Because im usually not that lucky. Once in a while ill run into a gold ring or gold or sterling jewelry but not very often. So that was my best yard sale find to date.

Future refrence on other watches you may find: You can't count the movement as gold. Thats where most of wt is.
If that's stainless? The diamonds are poss moisenite, & lab sapphire. You don't mount genuine in junk( pardon expression)

I actually got lucky about 4 years ago at a yard sale and this lady was selling some jewelry and mixed in with her costume jewelry she had a white gold ring with a 2.5 carat trillion cut d block tanzanite with about .25 cttw of round cut white diamonds. Bought it for $10. I still have it waiting for tanzanite to keep going up.

Woah, dude. Only you would find Gold and Diamonds! Nice job! I'd trust your acid test not one little article you find online. Also, it did not pass for 18k like the article said it should. If it has real diamonds it's almost a guarantee it's real gold they usually only put real stones in 14k gold, not steel. No one puts real diamonds in junk. You can try a magnet to see if it's steel but not all steel is magnetic. You can also look for a mark on the inside of the watch. I think it's 14k gold with real diamonds and gemstones. Trust the acid test...

The watch looks cool gold or not . The best finds I get are more from charity shops or pop up shops last year I found a silver necklace and butterfly pendant with light colored amethyst stones in it for $4 . And a few years ago I paid $1 for an 18k gold filigree daffodil brooch . Best ever find was at a school gala when I was 7 I bought this old vase with a 3d rose on it and gold trim round the leaves I paid 40cents for it and mum took it to an antique dealer and he valued it at $180 this was back in the 80's so not sure if it would still hold that kind of value but I still have it.

Gas prices are too high for me to go garage sailing. I always liked estate sales for good tools. And for old radios...I get free ones if I want them from the vintage radio club I belong to. Tubes and old Electronics to build pedals and old stock tubes for guitar amplifier

On the watch, hold it crystal down and open the back. The movement will be marked as to make & serial number. It's the clockwork that decides the value of a vintage watch with most running around $50. There will also be a jewel count with higher numbers of jewels indicating a higher quality movement. You can't tell what the movement will be from the outside as some makes built movements on contract and jewelers would then build the case around them.

Should have had the watch restored, it definately was not stainless and it was a top quality watch maybe tiffany or Cartier,with all the gems in it it would definately be worth restoring and probably had little wrong with it.

No clue on the value or age.
It came from my old house in Golden that the original owner left behind.
A ton of extremely old books, fishing poles and miscellaneous tools and stuff.
