This floor came out alright alright alright...
amazing comment lol
Green light!
when i heard his voice I thought this was Matthew McConaughey 😜
His accent. Georgia?
Right!
@@nancyfahey7518 probably North Carolina.
I was thinking the same
Lol for real! I was expecting him to say alright, alright, alright. 😂
Awesome video, and thank you Matthew Mcconaughey's brother :)
Really great info and easy to understand, will definitely follow this method for my bathroom reno. Thumbs up!!
Glad it was helpful!
I was about to type "This guy sounds exactly like Matthew McConaughey" -- then I saw your comment. Guess I'm not the only one. Now we just need him to scream "Murph!!!" a whole lot and the video will be perfect. :D
This was very helpful to get an impression of what it takes
Matthew McConaughey
did a good job tiling that floor.
really concise with lots of info presented well. TY!
Great video, Collin did my bathroom renovation here in NC.
I'm in California, and saw this guy's post on next door, about his family's pig giving birth, and scrolled the page to see if there were more pictures of the piglets, and the next thing you know i'm watching videos about how properly to tile a bathroom! Good ol internet! 😂 Gotta say this is a really helpful video.
Just great advice. I have done a few bathrooms and I did not take into consideration these extra measures to make sure It was done correctly. Now I feel guilty I wasn't as smart as I was before this video
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
Outstanding
Thanks Matthew
What did you do about the toilet flange. Did you lay the toilet right on that, did you install a flange extender to get it to sit on top of the tile, etc?
When using ditra over plywood, use “modified” thinset. I followed and I had to do it over again.
Thank you for that correction. I was taking notes on what to buy, and this saved me.
Good job.
We just put this tile in our master bathroom and it’s gorgeous! Next is our basement bathroom and maybe the laundry room and powder room.
thanks man this a great video
Why does he sound like Matthew McConaughey. Alright alright alright is all I could think of
I knew he sounded like someone familiar! ha!
Alright alright alright this is a great video
Question on the timeline. So after you've added your grout, you have to wait 3 weeks before any additional work such as installing the vanity/sink pedestal and toilet?
No- 3 weeks until you use the grout sealer. 3 days before you can walk on it
If there is concrete under the vinyl do I need to put that board underneath?
He said if it's concrete, just make sure all the glue is scraped off before tiling.
Really informative video and I love the Mathew Mcconaughey look-alike :-)
And Sound-Alike!
Now if i could get what I ordered I could finish the job. My order seems to have disappeared. Perhaps a video on Houdini.
All right, all right, all right.
Can the subfloor, the orange stuff, be used with those plastic slats that fit together? They look like a wooden floor.
No, for a floating floor aka "the slats that fit together" use a proper underlayment like pergo gold. Unless you are planning to glue down your hardwood flooring.
That’s right I thought this was Mathew M. The actor. Good job by the way
Thanks!!
Use maximum size tiles. It’s looks better and it will easily for install
Agreed, but you need to ensure your subfloor is adequate for large format tiles. The larger the tile, the less deflection your floor can have, otherwise you will have cracks.
Agree that a 12 x 12 tiles is faster than 8 x 8, but large format tiles are so much more work and require much more preparation of the subfloor.
Ugh… he made it look so easy. 😩
Alright alright alright…..let’s get started
This guy sounds like Matthew McConaughey.
Does anyone know the name of the bathroom tile he’s using ?
Here's a link to the tile in the video www.lowes.com/pd/DELLA-TORRE-Annabelle-Gray-8-in-x-8-in-Glazed-Porcelain-Encaustic-Floor-Tile/1000819358 Thanks for watching!
woof!
I like how he just glosses over "remove old mortar"
Why wouldn't you start at the corners vs the center?
The floor just looks centered when the lines are in the center. You wind up with more or less equal partial tiles on each edge.
Name of tile?
"I get older and they stay the same age"
Anyone have the tile name he’s using?

Green light!
why do tilers start in the middle?
Beautiful but with only one restroom , literally would be impossible.
Buckets.
@@walter1554 can attest
He sounds like Matthew Mcconaughey
Dude sounds like Matthew McConaughey
Do I have to have the orange stuff or can I put tile directly on painted plywood? Doh!
I went to type in the comments that you sound just like Matthew McConaughey and the very last comment that was made on this video said dude I thought you were Matthew McConaughey so dude you legit sound like Matthew McConaughey there’s something about that good old American voice you should do cameo calls add Matthew McConaughey for half price lol
I just might if my construction biz fails. Hah
I thought Matthew McConaughey was narrating. Lol.
I thought the toilet flange goes on top of the finish floor?
depends. if you're tiling it will sit below. just make sure your seal..seals.. I like the new rubber seals. typically they will have instructions that state to add an extra ring if the flange is equal to the finished floor.
@@GageDrums Toilet flanges should be on top of finished floor, tile or otherwise.
The flange and the toilet are designed to be a set height off the floor that the toilet is setting on.
Putting the flange on any layer other than what the toilet itself is set on introduces the risk of leaks from improper seal with the wax ring (or rubber/silicone ring if you prefer).
Alright alright alright
Please add links in the description winky face
LInks to your website for all materials used in the video
I'll look it up myself but just lookin out
alright alright alright
"now lets take a second to talk about mortar"
Alright alright alright.

“Tiles is a flat circle”

Alright ,alright ,alright
Y’all got that??
Do you guys accept job order
Be careful tapping ceramic floor tiles with a rubber mallet.
I’m first oh yea lol
Confirmed first.
This really isn't a good video. It's too short for any meaningful info. It's a good video if you are just curious what's done but don't rely on this for DIY.
Good video. But these are encaustic tiles, or at least made to look like them, and should never be installed without a border. Home Depot's mantra is: You can do it. We can help. Yes. You can install a new door or lay a new tile floor. But we've lost all respect for style and true craftsmanship. Because of Loew's and Home Depot, most American suburban homes have the wrong style of front door (usually Victorian door on a colonial or craftsman home - Yuk!) and tile floors without a border. Anyone with the eye of an artist can see immediately it's all wrong.
Thought this was an easy job. $2000 in equipment or pay someone $500 to do it smh
Get a tripod. I get motion sickness from this video.
Alright alright alright
