Just bought my first pair 2 weeks ago, most amazing work pants I have ever owned. The ability to carry the majority of my tools around on me instead of wheeling a massive toolbox around all day is convenient and saves time.

Really glad to see a review on these! I have to tell you I'm currently using Bad work pants, probably not as decked out as Blakladder but they look way better. I didn't buy these because of those big ugly patches. I also do a lot of service work in homes or public area and want to be taken seriously, lol.Bad is a company out of Australia.

SO i wear a size 36-38 in sherwin williams painter pants, iu want a pair of the tough guy painter pants from Blacklader, I would hope these would fit similar to the x1600's. Would you be abel to confirm whether a 36 in blackladers sizing is tighter or looser then Sherwin williams painter pants? Thanks for the help

I just bought a pair of these, as an on site carpenter/joiner, was using Snickers but last pairs of them really let me down they worn of pretty quckly (after 9 months) compare to the older ones (lasted more than 14 moths) so I switched to Blaklader... read a lot of it and after this video it seems I made a right choice. Just the Lifetime warranty on all seams sounds pretty solid to me!

I would be interested to see a head to head comparison of these pants to the Duluth Tradin Company's Men's Fire Hose Apron Pants. Or have you done a review on those pants already that I could watch?

Awesome pants, and a great video about them! My only concern is they might cause the wearer to get too hot in the summer. But,overall, it looks like a well engineered product!

Hello, I have worked outside in prairie Alberta for some time where we have summers with high UV indexes and heat which has only gotten worse year after year. The best trick to wearing heavy work pants in the summer (besides making sure you drink a fuckton of water) is to wear a very lightweight athletic moisture-wicking baselayer (Under Armour for example) which works wonders for regulating your lower body temperature. Also, shirts made from a moisture wicking jersey material (many hi-vis shirts are made from materials like this), as the long sleeves are much easier to wear when there is a high UV index and it is very hot outside. I also recommend lightweight, moisture-wicking boot socks. Just like in the winter, even in the summer wearing the right baselayer can actually make you significantly more comfortable, which automatically translates to more productive.

I have one with the basic kneepad, not that version of pants though, for me it has form and function. If one gets the darker colored version it doesn’t look so much two tone and it kinda conceals the pockets and kneepads. Also, nobody really sees it which one may prefer that so it doesn’t look so tactical like someone from swat etc. LOL. I could wear mine anywhere and not stick out yet there kind of fashionable besides being very utilitarian. The main thing is they’re very comfortable!

Why in the hell do I see guys wearing tool pouches behind them at their back. You can't see tool your looking for. I know my belt has a lot of stuff in it for plumbing and electrical work.

7:23 seconds in and I see a Porter Cable drill. No actual Tradesmen uses that brand. What trade are you in, and how long?

I wear these like firefighter bunker pants, Monday thru Friday washing them on the weekend. As a restaurant maintenance technician I carry 10 pounds of gear in them plus my daily concealed carry. I love these pants and have held up outstanding of 9 months continued use. One or two critiques. The back pockets are as said in this video, however they are too close together for my liking. Driving the work van for many mile per day the location puts my wallet in a uncomfortable place. That is not that big of a problem though. Also, carrying all that weight starts to fatigue my lower back and pulls my belt lower than I like. A suspender option with fixed attachment points (not at 3 or 6 o'clock) - (that's where I carry my pistol IWB), would be a welcome option.
If you're wondering, yes legally, and yes in some choice high violence areas.
Minor tearing around my knife pocket, and just recently the crotch opened witch I sewed up easily enough. Very happy with these pants. I will buy other pairs in the future.
