I always appreciate real advice on tools and gear from someone I know is using them in the field. Your attention to detail in your craft gives you all the credibility I need when it comes to looking into a purchase. Even if I'm not buying at the moment I'm still adding it to my short list for the future.
    Thanks

You'll never need to worry about cutting the wrong size, spin in circles or waste time trying to figure out what goes where... With ryan's detailed shed plans th-cam.com/users/postUgkxT9ExVpR-3A-9rpRqx8vzXKZ3BMMTg_KH , it makes building sheds a breeze - just like putting lego bricks together! You'll be able to create the kind of shed, your neighbors and other woodworkers will secretly envy (while mumbling nice job under their breath).

    Looks like great gear!
Nice to see an American maker step up.

My guys and I do outdoor lighting year round and about 5 years ago I happened to find the warmest non-bulky jacket, by chance! You can still find them online for a steal now, usually on sale for like $100 or something - ZeroXposur Heavyweight jackets. They are great work jackets that you can easily stitch a logo on and keep in truck at all times! I think they use an insulating polyester foam inside or something - it's definitely not down stuffing. I have tried super expensive brands - these are lighter, thinner, warmer and wayyy cheaper! You don't worry about messing them up on job site either

My dad was in construction for over forty years. Yes he was in his seventies before he quit working. His advice to me was to not get into construction. He said, when it freezing cold your outside and when it’s smoking hot your outside. So I chose to be a machinist, climate control is more for the machines, but you benefit as an operator.

@@bretlambky Yes, but we are very unappreciated. People just don't respect the hard working folks anymore. For most of them the walk from their car to the office is to extreme. They should try staying out there all year round year after year and get the job done on top of it. It makes you a tough guy.

    • @bretlambky

I agree, I managed forty three manufacturing folks, most days it was from 5am till six at night. My work ethic came from watching my dad bust his hump. I still had it easy..lol
I have made a few mistakes personally so I can’t work. I had a motorcycle accident at fifty miles per hour. So yes, I ask god daily to heal me and give me the opportunity to work again. It’s been over two years and I still am up at 4am almost every day. Keep me in your prayers, I know god has a plan for me, or he would have taken me when I crashed. Maybe he is teaching me patience, until he opens the next chapter.

Muck boots are not cheap (for rubber boots) but they are damn good and very durable! I’ve done both commercial and residential concrete using these boots, which means actually getting in the concrete, and my first pair lasted almost 5 years! The only reason had to buy new ones is someone ran over 1 in a 1 ton truck popping the steel toe out of place putting 3 holes in that one boot making it not so waterproof. On that note though, the steel toe was not bent, went back into place and is still very much wearable... just not waterproof.

I find that the key to keeping my hands warm, thereby allowing me to wear very light gloves or perhaps no gloves, is to keep the rest of my body warm. Especially the core and legs. My body definitely directs more blood to my hands if it isn’t trying to keep other body parts warm.

Couple those muck boots with some Darn Tough merino boot socks. Made in Vermont. Not cheap but they have a lifetime unconditional warranty and they are incredibly comfortable. Warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Plus if you do sweat the merino wool wicks it away. I’m working on switching all my socks over as I can afford it.
Gonna have to try out some truewerk gear. Definitely gonna get the jacket, bibs, and maybe a hoodie. Would like to see a different pocket configuration on the pants though. Not a cargo pocket fan either. I prefer the carpenter style side pockets with no flaps.

Threading the needle between staying dry inside or warm enough is the real challenge. Sometimes just walking out of the house in the morning I could get soaked through dressed in moderate layers. Bouncing in and out of a truck or humping material going between several layers is always a pain.

Kyle thanks for the heads up my man. I live in Pa and ir has been pretty brutal with the cold as of lately. That gear looks like it would work well but i just use the old boy scout rule of layers. Pants are long johns, then jeans, and the carharts as the outer layer. Shirts, i wear a t shirt, three longsleeve tshirts going up in size, a sweat shirt, a regular hoodie and then a zip up style hoodie on the outside. Its never failed me. But i will say if your hands or feet get cold you are done. Thanks for sharing buddy.

Been doing construction for over 20 years now. That gear is great however most us don't have the deep pockets to pay for gear such as that. I wish there was a company that offered quality gear for a fair price for the working man. Most of us cannot afford to pay that kind of money for gear that costs that much. Most of my work clothes come from TSC (Tractor Supply) cause you can can jeans as cheap as $15. I know they are not top of the line however, when your as hard on clothes as I am you can't pay for a pair of jeans that are not going to get stained, get torn and cut up. I have been satisfied with the RidgeCut clothing and gear at TSC. I think they are doing a great job on quality for the price. I get the cheap clothes for roofing and demolition type work and RidgeCut for more cleaner work.

I just wear an over-sweater (shirt-jac) all winter, over double shirts or a shirt under a sweatshirt. Even in negative temps in bibs and a coat, I get too hot. Standing around doing nothing, not so much.

KSUBI KAYY straight up the Milwaukee is a great glove. But I highly suggest Maxi-Flex. Milwaukee just hits on like two different pair of gloves that are fitted that are legit. Now go to Maxi-Flex gloves website and don’t say I didn’t warn you. It’ll blow you away. They have fitted gloves for -40°F. They have fitted gloves for trash men, snow, mechanic, electrician. There are so many to hit your particular trade. They even have Kevlar lines fitted gloves. I mean Maxiflex. ATG Glove Solution. It is literally glove science that takes gloves to a whole other level and you’ll find the gloves to be cheaper than Milwaukee as well. Definitely worth a try

What about socks? Great video. I've been really enjoying my T3 pants and work hoody the last few days since I got them! Now I'm thinking I should probably get the T2 work hoody also, especially if I can get 10% off!

Hi! As You work with German Stabila levels maybe check out their Engelbert Strauss workwear company. Most comfy as I know what we can buy in europe. Maybe only Helly Hansen from Norway can compete.

Will this clothing stand up to Alberta Canada weather? I mean -30c. Always have issues keeping my feet and hands warm. Sucks working outside. I as well build garages and shops for a living.

How does the t3 coat hold up to ranch work compared to a canvas style coat? My go-to is nearly worn out after several hard years but sadly due to personal reasons I won’t be buying that brand again. I’m very intrigued by TrueWerk but need something that will last a couple years with hard work.

Matter horn model 1949 from cove shoe company. I've worn them for years. The military calls them the fort Lewis boot. Goretex lined. Insulated, vibram soles, some kind of drying lining, they are made from a lot of top shelf products. I have been to the factory where they are made when I was in Pennsylvania. Great boots last and last. Great fitting boot. Excellent for the job site. They also make mining boots, they know what they are doing.

when you put those T3 pants on you and work (bend, squat, up down up down...) how are all the layers under them doing? they don't come up or shrug? you don't need to correct them all the time?

I'm kind of surprised that you didn't throw out the battery heated apparel that Milwaukee makes.. I have a M12 hoodie that I bought about 5 years ago. It never worked very well by itself, but if I put the hoodie together with a heavier coat, then I would have to turn the hoodie down to the lowest setting because it would make me start sweating.

    • @DonkeyDongDoug
      @DonkeyDongDoug 5 ปีที่แล้ว

I think makita makes the same thing, but it runs on their 18v batteries. That would be OK if I was standing all day long, but it you ever got into a situation where you were leaning up against something, or sitting down, then it might be a tad uncomfortable.
I haven't worked outside for a living in 6 years though. I don't miss is a lot. When it got down below 40 degrees we would usually have to argue about who was going to work in the ditch, that was the best place to work in the winter.
