Very nice garage, love it! I had an Advantage lift setup in my home shop a week ago, it is so nice! I went with the SS-11000-WD because it was only $600 more than the 9000XLT, has wider 24" tracks, can fit everything from my UTV's to my crew cab long bed 4WD dually truck, and has a much faster 240V motor.
Red detail looks nice, thanks for the update.
One of the best garages I've seen - nicely done!!!
Thank you so much I really appreciate it !!!
Love it man!
Thank you ! Thanks for commenting and checking out the channel!
The GT500 CFTP is such a great looking car.
I love it ! Great car!
@@pickygarage I’m actually in the market for a new one right now but I’m having a hard time finding an allocation at a decent price.
If Color is an Aesthetic problem,I’d say if you can afford that Porsch and Mustang, get the rest powder coated the color you like. 🧐
Yeah a lot of people hate the color of these. I love it personally!
Me too! I think it looks great. @@pickygarage
how much do they charge to install it, just finish my garage it is 30x30 with a 30x20 carport attached to the front off it but only 9 ft walls
How long does it take to lift all the way up? Does it give you a 120v or 220v power?
I’d say it take 1 minute to go all the way up. 120v
Where did you get the rubber mats you put under the 4 posts ?
It came with the lift !
I have a 2019 Supersnake and just got a lift (Wildfire). Seems like a REALLY tight fit. Any tips or hacks to make me feel better about putting a 76” wide car on a 76” wide track? Maybe some kind of side rail or something?
I’ve backed up onto a really tight lift to change the oil on a gt350R. the only way I got it on the lift was because someone was behind me directing me. I wouldn’t back up on a narrow lift by myself. I’ve seen people put a tennis ball on the wall so you can line up your backup camera with the tennis ball when backing into a lift. Just be careful and take your time.
Thanks so much for the reply. Maybe I should just get my courage up, haha.
@@garyallen6486 I mean it is super scary I would personally put that lift on facebook marketplace and but a new lift
Is the lift performing up to expectations at the approximate one year mark? Thank you for your time.
Zero issues so far!
@@pickygarage Thanks for the reply. It is appreciated.
How thick should the concrete floor in your garage be to support such a lift and a car on top of it?
we went with 8inch thick
@@pickygarage Mine is only 4 inch thick, I believe. Does that mean I cannot use such a lift, or is there anything that can be done? Any ideas? 💡
@@PeterSchneemann Most garage floors are poured 4". There are literally thousands of 4 post lifts around sitting on 4" floors. I've never heard of one breaking through. I actually ordered an Advantage lift today and will put it on my 4" floor with the right side pads sitting on a control joint. If thicker concrete was required, they wouldn't sell any lifts.
@@PeterSchneemannthey have 12"x12" by 1/2" thick feet. That's 576 square inches to hold approximately 11 or 12k lbs of weight (vehicle plus lift weight). That's roughly 20 lb. per square inch on your floor. A properly poured & cured 4" 3500 psi concrete floor will have zero issues with an Advantage four post lift. That being said, I wouldn't go any less than 8" for a 2 post lift, preferably 12", no matter what the lift company says...
I also have an xlt9000 from advantage. When I have a car parked on my lift, the treadplate directly below the tire patch is concaved downward about 1/8 of an inch. Both ramps are the same way. Can you take a straightedge and place it under your non powered ramp just below the tire patch to determine if your treadplate flexes like mine? I'd really appreciate it. I am waiting for a response from advantage lifts.
How heavy is your vehicle?
@@pickygarage it's a 76 c10 shortbed truck. It also does the same with a Camaro on the lift. So, no where near the 9000lb limit. Does your treadplate "dip" slightly when loaded with a vehicle? You will need to put a straightedge on the underside of the treadplate, directly under the tire patch. Mine dips about 1/8 of an inch. Just trying to determine if this is normal for all of them. Thank you
@@shawnparris6512 i dont see anything dipping when a car is on the lift the only thing that shows a dip is the ramps to move the car onto the lift. I dont know if im not looking for the right thing but it all looks sturdy and straight to me. Sorry if this isnt helpful i tried looking.
@@pickygarage Thank you, with a vehicle loaded, you would need to place a straightedge on the bottom side of the treadplates, directly under the tire patch.
@Boattail Thanks for the information. Since my original post, I have discovered exactly what you are saying. A fellow with the same lift checked his ramps while it was loaded with a vehicle. The ramps had a very slight dimple underneath the tire patch on the bottom side of the ramps. I am confident that the slight flexing is almost necessary and normal for 3/16 inch thick material. Like you, I am very happy with my lift. Thanks again for the reply
Chalk Blocks! :)
Thanks haha
What made you go with Advantage over other companies?
They had the best customer service and I love the different configuration options. Super reliable lift in my opinion.
Great videos and ideas. I am just starting a car collection, I intend to build a 44x44 garage. Would love to talk to you for some ides, do and don'ts.
For sure! There’s a lot that goes into it ! I’m happy to help!
@@pickygarage Great thank you.
I am so stupid I started buying cars before I built the garage. So far I have a Ferrari 360 Modena, a Suzuki Samurai and a Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III all in perfect shape. I am interested in creating a garge not for car working but as a hangout place, a place where friends can come and watch the Indy500 on a huge screen, eat some food, hang out among great cars, or a place to have a New Years Eve party. etc. So garage (shack) but with things like a driving simulator, and seating areas, etc. I won't work on the cars, unless it is fun clean stuff like carbon fiber etc. But there is so much to know just about the building itself. Any ideas would be much appreciated. I am hopping to have a nice collection when I am done. Maybe I will post some video as I go along.
@@yelowbeachhouse well I would surely go bigger than what you think. once the building went up we wished we went bigger. Trying to decide the number of cars you are going to want to have and then figure out how much space you need for those cars. ARe you going to have lifts? then double the size for the sitting/ entertaining area. Next think of things like outlets, tvs, wifi, cat6, ac heat etc. If you are going to do lifts make sure your ceilings are at least 12 ft high. Think about if you are going to have trucks or long cars then you are going to want to have xl lifts which take up more room. Are you going to wash cars inside then put a drain plug in.
Ha! I always say there is no such thing as too much power, or too big of a shop lol. Mine is 40'x60' with 16' side walls peaking at 24' at the center, and I still want more room!@@pickygarage
I have no idea how that did not scrape. Maybe because you reversed it up.
Chocks... Wheel chocks...
What did they charge to install ? Does it include delivery?
I forget the price that i paid. I do remember I paid for everything all together. Ill look back at my paperwork to get you some numbers. Sorry i dont have them at this time. Thanks for checking out the channel Randy !
@@pickygarage I’m planning on getting this lift also. Getting the lift for 5300+ and to install about 975
@@demarcoboy1 That sounds right ! I love it you wont be disappointed at all!
I was quoted additional shipping charges of $800-$900 to deliver from Pennsylvania to New Hampshire and thought that was very pricey.@@pickygarage
How much including install? Thx
I think 6k I’ll have to check i forget
What size is your garage?
28 by 36
Great to see the garage coming along! It's just missing a drain in the floor for climate controlled detailing.
What's maximum lift height?
I forget off the top of my head but I’m 6’3 and can walk underneath of it and the lift still has more room to go up.
How tall are your ceilings?
12 feet high
Wheel chocks
Thank you hahah
