Did you not watch the fight? It doesn't matter how bad-ass you think you are, or how fit, or even if you've been in street fights. Someone who has trained in boxing every day for the past 3 years will whoop you're ass. Artest would get smacked just like Nate did.
Coming from someone who also has never paid for a fight nor watches periodically, I can say that is an even worse idea. That's just asking for humiliation at that point. If any celebrity is to fight Jake, they better show they are as or more committed to the sport than him. Otherwise, the higher stakes we go in terms of finding men with huge egos and pride (with no experience), the bigger the fall (metaphorically). This plays to Jake's favor. Nate ultimately became a meme because of the way he landed. The knockout punch itself was the only thing worth watching, because the rest of the fight was just awful to watch.

Definition of professional is getting paid for something. You don't have to be any good, but if you get paid for it, that's professional.

There are 2-25 record journeymen that are professional boxers with 10+ years of experience that any athletic amateur with a couple years of experience will beat. The sanctioning and "qualifying" are just physicals, there is nothing stopping the average person from becoming a pro boxer with 0 amateur experience, most people don't do it because it's dumb, it affects your record, and it's way better to get experience in the amateurs.

He had the option to hire multiple/higher level coaches too, but he wanted to fit his narrative of "coming from the mud" so he found an old small shabby gym with random trainers. Even if he didn't directly make excuses for Nate, blaming the coach is inherently an excuse because that implies Nate would've had a chance of not embarrassing himself if it weren't for his coach.

Nate didn't have a film problem, he had a trainer, "Hey, how about not lunging straight in repeatedly before you walk into something." problem. The first thing they should've showed him is how smaller fighters create angles, and get inside a bigger fighter. Robinson has next to zero boxing experience, but watching guys like Tyson in his prime would've at least given him an idea of how to approach the fight. He went in there like, "I'm a just jump in and catch this white boy with something."

I used to get asked all the time why I didn't do MMA, since I was a trainer at a gym with MMA facilities. My answer was always this. I don't mind hitting you in the face, but I would really prefer you didn't hit me in the face :-)
