This is my favorite Elantra N review yet! 😂 You guys definitely drove it like its meant to be driven. I have a 22 Elantra N DCT. It’s been so much fun. 12,000 miles, no problems. The car does wheel hop, but the PS4S are definitely not for cold climates so that makes it worse. I have 18” wheels with Continental DWS tires and ploy bushings in the rear lower engine mount, so there’s no more wheel hop and the car doesn’t crash over bumps anymore. Plus weight savings from the lighter wheels makes it even more responsive. The seats can be a little confining and uncomfortable for bigger guys (me), but they definitely do their job of holding you in. I can’t wait to try my first auto-x event this year!
Yeah I hear ppl saying these things are unreliable but I’ve been seeing that ppl are tuning it hard and they are confused when the engine can’t handle a extra 100+Jo boost
@@izayahhutson I highly doubt it, but some dealerships will look for any reason to void the warranty, but by law they have to prove the mod caused the issue to deny the warranty.
I think you're correct. Also, basically no cars have a grab handle for the driver since they have the steering wheel. You'd hope their hands would be on that instead of something that has no control over the vehicle...
I always go thru my owners manuals lol. 26k miles in mine and I’ve loved every second of it. The loud crack that it throws out sometimes is actually shocking. Way louder than it's normal burbles. They let you switch the cluster mode in the settings. You can be in normal and have the cluster be the same as eco’s. I hate the white cluster tbh
This was by far my favorite car I've owned. Sadly, a kid plowed into it, and it was totalled. As per usual...Insurance shafted me and I couldn't afford to replace it with another N. Had to go WRX. It's fine---but doesn't even compete with the fun factor.
Something tells me this car had a challenging week with Charlie… that motor mount sounds like it’s gotten worse since the beginning of the video. 😅 Hopefully you guys beat on the GR Corolla like this. Then we can do a squeaks and rattles comparison!
@@A_chunk_of_pieOh man that is quite the topic as Im sure you know. Ranging from follow the manual to the letter, to the engine was already broken in even if mileage doesnt reflect it, to in the early break in period you really need to "seat the rings" haha. Im with you on a factory car to take it easy, but it is funny to listen to all of the bro science reasons of why you should do it differently. I will say after a very small break in period, I do think built engines with looser tolerances need to see full boost pretty early on with the right oil of course.
You can hit the start button twice without your foot on the brakes and switch to N mode before starting the car. I believe you can also go in to settings and change the color of the normal mode gauge so that it will not be so bright at night. There is also something in settings that puts a little speedometer sign on the screen that shows you the speed limit on the road you are on. It also warns you about speed cameras.
Nice review. I really wish we could have gotten the sportback version that the EU gets. As evident from my current vehicle, I love a sportback or better yet a wagon. Actually I feel like it could have looked pretty interesting as a wagon as well…..
As someone who’s owned only manuals for 16 years (civic si, integra gsr, prelude, 240sx, genesis coupe, etc.), I’ve test driven both manual and dct elantras, and went with the DCT. Picked it up this past weekend. Although, if I didn’t have another manual car, it would’ve been a much tougher decision. I just don’t like the pedal placement for the manual in this car. Hard to heel/toe
This car is built like a tin can with borderline horrendous interior quality. I should know, because I owned one for a year before tiring of the monthly payment. That said, the driving experience is ridiculously joyful. Looking forward to the facelifted model due imminently.
Sometimes less is more … would love to have watched this whole review but couldn’t make it past 7:36 , just to much attempts at being funny and witty while doing a review, just equaled, extremely annoying and hard to actually watch

Thanks for the info! Does the engine mount installation void the warranty?

That was my thought. Snow on the ground with summer tires lol
03:35 I think that's because they wanted to use the same headliner part for LHD and RHD models
I think you're correct.

Same here, the white display is way too bright compared to the other drive modes
I’ve had a couple Type Rs and now an Elantra N and I love the car. It’s really really good
I love mine. Been daily driving. A simple lower mount swap gets rid of the wheel hop too. I want a Supra next.
I love Hyundai for making these, having more cheap enthusiast cars is better for everyone!
I love seeing reviews about these cars. I've had mine for about a month and absolutely love it!

Oh no! I hope you're able to get into another N product soon. The WRX is fun, but definitely not like this.
That’s a tragedy!
Hmm... I think you can set/unlink the cluster to drive mode, and that way you get Eco/dark cluster regardless of mode.

Work at a Cannabis Dispensary and will soon have one of these. Can't wait, all though the wheel hop, not a fan. 270+hp for 35k, umm yes please.
picking up a 23 EN DCT in a couple days. Got it for invoice price. Can't say that about the Type R, GR Corolla or Golf R
Here in La they're selling the Elantra ends for 5K over MSRP I bought one last week for 2K over MSRP I got lucky
Thanks to you fella's ... My son just purchased one of these..T.
reading owner's manual enthusiast 🙋
Right… I love seeing videos of people racing these cars before the 600 mile break in period… 😢
@@A_chunk_of_pie all good they'll have a blown motor soon enough

I wonder if they didn’t include a handle for the driver so as not to impact head room for a helmet.
It’s a cool car for sure, I respect Hyundai for building fun cars
After I graduate college I want either an Elantra n or Kona n I’m not sure which yet but I want one

that poor car you guys are beating on it and its not even broken in yet
Lol love how they blur out the speed at 13:50 when they are speeding. 🏁🏎️
its cool though, never seen other reviewers do the same
Is it the same menu as the veloster n?
I gotta correct you there. The Topher had a 22.

I own a 2020 gt N line no driver side handle 😪
greetings i have the last manual 2019 simple driving . without turbo . ΑΩ
best mpg on this car is 26. but its so easy to fill because of small gas tank
Think that depends on the type of driving. My daily commute is mostly 40mph-ish and get 39-40mpg on a 15 mile trip
Hyundai motor mounts suck. I have a 2020 Elantra sport and whenever I hit a pothole it makes horrifying sounds as well

I currently own one and have zero interior quality issues. Feels a lot more solid than my 2019 Civic Touring did.
DCT is much faster!😜
You want fast? You buy a V8 not 4 cylinders learn from prior generations
