Gordon Ryan's passing for me fits my game well but I have added to my arsenal Andrew Tackets style passing, which has surprised myself that it works very well. I am now looking at Ethan Crelinstin and noticed he is very well connected through out his passing style certainly keeps the pressure all the way through as well. You always got to have alot of styles of passing to confuse and disrupt your defending opponent in an ever evolving sport.
Gordon's methods suit me pretty well as an older BJJ practitioner. I have implemented his half guard chest to chest passing and it is really high percentage, and as a plus, crushes the person on bottom, too. That Gaudio match was a masterclass, I learned everything from that match.
really like the inclusion of tackett. at cji i was sitting behind eddie bravo and during the tackett/ryan match he turned around to me and said "tackett is the best passer in the game right now." definitely after watching and rewatching his cji matches i think eddie was spot on. i also saw you put some clips of dorian in the vid, did you consider him for the list and how similar do you think him and tackett's passing style are?
Yeah Dorian has sick passing too I need to watch more of his matches. To me Tackett seems more precise and is getting more clean passes compared to Dorian who I think is really good at initiating scrambles
@@natemarkhamjj definitely, i think the years of experience helps in tackett's case. i also haven't watched too much of dorian's passing but from what I've seen its similar to andrews. because the passing pace is so fast, i think there's a big intuitive component, and that only really comes with grappling for a hella long time
This list is just perfect! I feel like #3 can go to others as well as Tackett but 2 and 1 are perfect. I like Gordon at 2 for the same reason you put Tackett at 3, Gordon’s approach is very easy to replicate. There’s no speed or extreme athleticism needed. Jozef is who I dream of passing like. I just bought his tripod passing instructional a few weeks ago just so I can get even a centimeter closer to that style
Awesome video bro. I feel like I just discovered a pipe at the end of a Super Mario Brothers level that allowed me to skip ahead in levels for BJJ. When the Secret Service is teaching their agents how to spot counterfeit bills, they teach them to memorize the correct dollar bill, not what might be wrong. That's a metaphor for watching this. Getting a bunch of ideas now of how to up my guard passing game. Please make more videos!! Really Good stuff.
I personally think Tackett is the best passer right now; Gordon's skills heavily rely on his size & strength, Chen's skill are incredible, but the style of tripod passing doesnt translate as well at the higher weight classes due to the bottom players lower body strength, but Tackett's style can work for just about anyone at any weight class. The only real downside to Tacketts passing is that it requires a lot of energy/ conditioning. I think Nicky Rod should also be an honorable mention for best passers.
Ive been trying to mimic tackett’s style of passing but honestly i just feel mean. Smashing my head into people’s gut as I pass just feels rude and I find it hard to do relative to other styles of passing which are ‘kinder’.
@@askir5474Hq passing isn’t something I’ve looked into deeply yet so I don’t have a good opinion but it seems like it could be very effective. I think Kaynan passed a few people from there at Adcc.

Yeah I agree Tackett passing is relentless, and Nicky Rod has sick passing too. Do you think he could succeed with the Tri pod at the heavier weight?
I think the best one to study would be tainan. Very principled, and methodic, and it seems like he was able to convert it to nogi
great video man! keep it up
You should make another one for guard retention.
I DEMAND MORE VIDEOS LIKE THIS
honestly i just upvoted because it's a top x video not made by AI. breath of fresh air.
keep it up!

What's your opinion on Headquarters?

So basically in a nutshell you need either wrestling, steroids and or a combination of Asian European parents .
Yeah pretty much sums it up
All good choices but Gordon is the best passer.
Kade and tye has a very good guard passing
Honorable mention: Dorian Olivarez
