$400 for jumbo box is way to much
You could talk yourself into opening this product the last couple of years, but with the price increase and the 300 card checklist, its a joke. MAYBE you get 100 dollars worth of cards if you are lucky.

@@blakemanuel3598 Yeah, I agree and I know what you're saying. However, it gets to a point where people have to stop and that's the point here is. It's just reached a certain level of threshold where it makes zero sense. A couple hundred dollars you know you could at least maybe get half your money back but when you're starting to walk away from $300 plus dollars it makes it really unenjoyable. And let's be honest, not every box is supposed to produce big hits. That's the point, but when they're starting to gouge because of greed then people should stop paying that

All of my refractor and prizm parallels out of my Jumbo Box were unremarkable, no rookies. But the hits were HUGE! Big Papi UV Auto /49, Pete Crow-Armstrong Blue-Wave Auto /150, Rookie Auto TJ Hopkins, Green Strokes Evan Carter /99, Blue (something?) Spencer Horwitz Rookie /125, Gold Wave Rafael Devers /50, Purple Sparkle Shane Bieber /299, 89-35th Elly and Evan Carter, Summertime Elly and Juan Soto. I think I like the Summertime in the Park inserts the most so far. So pleased with my first Jumbo!

I actually prefer the numbering to be on the front then on the back. Sometimes the serial numbers "bleed through" when they're put on the back and show up visibly on the face of the card. Not only does it bother me personally, but I'm sure it will cost you a good score on a card if you want to get it graded. I like the placement this year as it isn't taking up real estate on the player's image somewhere. It looks like the numbers fit well in the design, but I think I would like it centered a bit more if it were up to me. All-in-all, I think it looks good.

I feel like this illustrates the disconnect between the cost of alot of the new products and the value of cards in the singles market. It just keeps getting wider. Bust boxes are painful and most of the hits aren't valuable enough to cover the costs.
Low key, no filler no BS. Stryker provides quality from start to finish.
I always try to stay positive but this seems like rough product for the price. The way single prices are right now, there are very few cards that will justify this price tag. I really do like the design and the all etch inserts and ultra violet inserts are really cool. But for $400, you could get some really sweet singles from this product, especially when you consider that people are going to want to sell to try and recoup the cost

I bought a 2013 select hobby box at the Nationals last year. Pulled a en fuego griffey gold. 24/25. Jersey #. Graded a 10 at sgc.

Your right about the way the numbered the cards it should be on the back. To me it just doesn't look right on the front and it kinda hard to see them..

The All Etch are my favorites. Blast from the past back in 1999. They looked good then, they look even better now. Will for sure be putting that set together!
While I get the argument that fewer base from a 300 card checklist helps (which it does for sure compared to 2020 on), the number of bad parallels like this box had really decreases the average value per box. It honestly shocked me how much easier things were to hit in the 2010s, including good autos, when I looked back at checklists and odds from pre-pandemic chrome.
I have a 1996 Barry Sanders Donruss Elite Series Gold /2,000 I got the other day for 20 bucks. I say that because people laugh it off due to the distorted view of the “junk” wax era but pulling that card back in the 90s would be damn near impossible but something today like a gold /2024 seem to be a dime a dozen. Hopefully my Barry rises in value 20 years or so from now

I think the color parallels are where that Strokes insert will shine. I saw the gold Mookie on eBay just before watching this and it looked awesome.
Pulled a /99 green strokes elly de la Cruz from just one 4 card pack for 15 bucks on TikTok , got an ultraviolet Mike trout, bout 7 autos and a total of 5 Ellys. I’m lovin topps chrome as usual
Seems like serial numbers could have been placed under the team name. Only a few images wouldn’t work for that placement.

I kinda like the numbering, it's on front but also out of the way of the rest of the card. Id like to think you don't want the numbering to distract from the card design itself.

Better placement for the numbering than last year. It was between everyone's legs. I like the spot. I don't think it was an after thought at all.

Topps changed the borders, so they are solid black now, different from series 1 and 2.
It doesn't really bother me where the numbers are placed. I am glad they're on the front, though.
The insert sets are just meh to me. Maybe they look better up close?
So far, I'm not excited by this year's Chrome. I'm glad I only ordered blasters. At least I'll get some pink/sepia parallels in those. Fanatics just sent my 5 blasters and I should have them Sat or Sun.

There’s no doubt the jumbos have more value than the blasters, megas, and hobby boxes … the problem is they are 10x the price of a blaster 😂

Looks like hobby box has the most rookie parallels but only one numbered card.
Might dabble in some retail of it this year but yikes the Hobby and Jumbos are brutal at those prices

2024 Topps Chrome is a triple whammy of inflation, shrinkflation, and more shrinkflation. Higher price per box, less % of the set in each box, less autos in each box. It's like if Lucky Charms added 30% to the box price, reduced the overall weight of the box AND reduced the % of magic marshmallows in the box.
I actually like the new number location. In years past its legit all over the place as where to look but this years topps chrome imo looks super clean and easy to find, the no flipping for numbered is a huge win in my book. And yes the different strokes are kinda boring on the eyes. They gonna be the next stars of mlb 😂😂😂

There saying it's a bad box. So was Prism basketball and so was Donruss football very bad. Baseball is enjoyable sport good box.
Inserts are awesome! About all I can say for this $400 jumbo box. I’ll probably get 1 hobby and some blasters here and there but other than that I’ll buy singles. For what singles go for now, you have about a 10% chance, maybe less of making your money back. I know all boxes can’t be that way, but man…

Do you think the market will get flooded by the companies making the cards causing the value to go down or do you see it maintained and value increase. I am just thinking greed of the companies may cause the value to go down. Love your videos and howyou present the cards.
This is just like Footballs Absolute product last year… its rookie auto or retired low numbered auto or bust like it was with the kabooms in absolute football. Either you hit big or you get hit under the belt every time.

I really don't know why anyone should be surprised by the contents of these chrome boxes. They're way overpriced, and rarely do they return the value to justify the investment.
Sure, the Chrome cards are of a higher quality, but at 400 for a jumbo or 220 for a hobby box,
let's get real folks, and call it what is, another fanatics money grab.
You'd be better off buying the flagship product than what Topps is offering here. It's not hyperbole, it's just the truth.
I like chrome blasters. I've recouped my cost on a few boxes last year.
