Wow, he really went all out to complete the image of reluctant evil mastermind, look at the hunchback in the background!
And I TOTALLY love the way he scares the last young blade with a serious expression which then turns into a charming grin...

I love him in this! You can tell that he's having fun and enjoying every moment!
I’ve seen people say he couldn’t sing based off this performance….listen to him in The Great Mouse Detective as Ratigan. The man could sing. But at his age when he did Ruddigore he had dentures which changes how you speak and sing. I think he did a fantastic job in this performance and you could see how much he enjoyed if. I call that a fantastic performance!
I must put in a word for Ann Howard who was in this production as the best Mad Margaret I ever saw.
You can definitely tell that his age is hindering his high notes, but man, he sells it so well. He commands the screen so naturally, and what he lacks in pitch, he makes up for in charisma and presence.
I love that last guy with the bicycle who runs away... LOL!
I’ve never seen that before but it’s very good. I remember that Papa was a Vincent Price fan.
I'm sure Vincent must have felt like Despard sometimes - tired of being stuck being a moustache-twirling villain.
He wasn't always the villain in his movies. He was the hero in The Raven and the devoted brother in The Fly.
I wonder if the great Vincent Price ever experienced such reactions from people in real life.

It's called "solid theatrical presence", something which requires a lot of work, so although he's not doing much physically, it's all in his mind just how evil he's trying to look. & it's working, isn't it? ;o)

Actually Rattigan was most likely based on Dr Moriarty the nemesis of Sherlock Holmes wich Basil Mouse was based upon!
Christopher Lee's a Gilbert and Sullivan fan as well, isn't he? I've heard a couple of G&S songs he recorded. Imagine him being Sir Roderic here in this production with that wonderful voice of his.
he can't sing, but lets be glad somebody did it. We can't get any version of the Grand Duke.
