Steve, you really did a excellent job explaining the solo in terms we all can understand. Most would just show it real fast and miss the key elements on how to do it. Very excellent job!!!! I wish more were like you!!!!
Hey man, that is so great that you're showing us the rhythm chords under the solo. So many take that for granted. In order to fully understand the genius behind any great solo, you have to understand the theory behind the rhythm track underneath it. From there, should we ever find ourselves in a recording studio, we will be playing better solos for having a better understanding of the relationship between the rhythm track and the solo we're trying to compose. ... cheers man!!
I’m very thankful you explained the final “F” part of the lick because I was struggling to figure out how the “e” fit the arpeggio or chord. It’s a major 7th, so it gives it a harmonic minor kinda feel
I don't understand where you came up with the E major and harmonic minor when there is a G in the progression not a G#. what did I miss that tells you it's E major instead of Em? you said he does not use harmonic minor in the solo at all and there is no G# in the progression. where is the G# inferred? Thanks.
Way beyond my skill level, but such an amazing solo still. Jake was a monster on the 2 albums he did with ozzy and so underrated as a player due to the fact that he was basically Randy's replacement. He definitely got a crappy deal.

The analysis of the chord tone melody inside the solo is gold
Super pumped for this! Saved for later.😍😍
