Mike + The Mechanics are Mike Rutherford, Andrew Roachford, Tim Howar, Anthony Drennan, Luke Juby, Nic Collins (the son of Phil Collins) on drums.
So cool that Mike gave Nic Collins a spot in the band! He obviously deserves it. Awesome job.

Been a fan since 1985 aged 12 - Finally get to see Mike + the Mechanics Live! @ Cambridge this week - aged 49 - Can't wait ! ... All I need is a Miracle 😊
Its great to see Mike playing these small gigs with his other band. Just shows the guy loves performing. Excellent songs.

Nice one to play small gigs closer to the crowd but with out the two pauls couldn't do many big places great then still ok singers but now so good the one don't think he can sing very well at all don't no what he would be doing if not in mike and the mechanics

I saw Mike and Nic in Paris last March for the final Genesis tour. It was a great privilege. I hope one day to see the Mechanics too.

Wow, had no idea that today Mike & The Mechanics are still performing with Nic on the drums. Not only that, throwing in Genesis songs now on occasion! That must be an amazing concert to see in the UK.
Nic was the stand-in drummer for that tour as Gary Wallis was unavailable. He really is a chip off the old block, isn't he?

@@raymondvaughan6262 we all miss Paul Young esp and Paul Carrick was immense but time moves on. Both Andrew Roachford and Tim Howar do a bloody good job trying to fill some very big shoes.
I think Nic Collins is a very welcome addition. It gives Mechanics a more rockier edge.
Gary wallis was great .Just proves its not what you know .............
@@darenwilliams5858 Yes, Gary Wallis was great and I respect him as a drummer. It is just that it seems...watching the video that they went more and more for the acoustic drums instead of drum machines, and it seems Nic played the songs a bit faster.

Just seen the band in Sheffield. Absolute magic from start to finish. Awesome vocals and music, and Nic was a star. Sheer joy.
I saw Roachford perform in a small venue Olbys in Margate a few years ago and he really put in an amazing performance and got a right sweat up .
Definately recommend seeing him in fact I preferred his solo show to the Mechanics which I saw a few months later
Here you can see and hear the difference between real top musicians and their timeless hits and all the boring current artists that the record industry has been putting in front of us since the 90s.

Wow, when I heard them start Follow You, Follow Me the tears started rolling down my face. Amazing how a forgotten Great Song can evoke memories.
I saw Andrew Roachford at Wolverhampton Poly in 1987. The show was immense. Great songs, great band and awesome vocals from Roachford.
Just saw them in Southend. Amazing evening. Amazing music! They don’t make this kind of music anymore.
Fantastic. Born to perform all these guys not like some of the so called performers now a days. Nic your dad must be so proud off you mate. I went to the same stage school as your dad. Late 60 early 70s just before the new school was built. My mother was one off the cooks there. My step dad used to decorate his mums home. My names Paul Elliott give your dad my regards. Sorry how life has stopped him being on stage doing what he was born to do. God bless you guys.

Not surprised that Mike gave Nik Collins the drumming gig as I saw Genesis on their very last tour and followed the tour via TH-cam and you could see several times Mike saying to Phil Collins “ Big respect to your son ,,,, He’s a chip off the old block “ .

Collins is a solid drummer. It’s good to hear him backing up a singer who can actually sing.
So is Simon Collins. With 6 albums behind him he is a great vocalist and drummer and very over looked. On his 3rd album he did an instrumental drum duet with his Dad, Phil.
@@gkirms Agreed about Simon. I really like the Sound of Contact album and of course the Big Bang he did with his dad before his drumming career was ended due to health problems.
@@jimhardiman3836 Check out his new album with Kelly Nordstrom, the group 'emolecule'. Kelly, of course, he worked with in Sound of Contact. This album, much more industrial, kind of like his last solo album 'Being Human'.

That other guitarist next to the great Mike Rutherfod is ANTHONY DRENNEN from Leopardstown County Dublin and is an AMAZING guitarist.If given a chance he would blow that crowd away.We used to listen to the LAMB in his house with his younger brother Paul in the early 70's.How funny now actually playing with Mike.Life!

"I first played here in 1972". Then they returned to De Montfort Hall a few months later in early 1973 where most of _Genesis Live_ was recorded.
Might be worth a flight across the pond to see M&M again...saw them on 1st tour at Expo 86 in Vancouver Canada. Been a fan since day 1. Sure miss the Paul's, but the latest incarnation is tight.

They are really good but I still miss the original lineup especially Paul Carrack who in his own right is a fabulous musician and singer, Mike never had a lot of charm or charisma but its solid great sound and rock, Nic is awesome

@@SonicmintUK Correct. He formed this line-up in the same way he formed the original - working with various songwriters, singers, musicians and producers and seeing what stuck. The first album of each period had a third lead singer that never made the final line-up (John Kirby on the self-titled 1985 debut, and Arno Carstens on 2011's _The Road)_
@@antster1983 Arno Carstens in fairness was a guest as he knew Mike through a contact or they might have shared the same manager at the time. He had a great voice too !
