You know James, I gotta hand it to you, the fox tail brush is amazing. I did a detail over the weekend and the car was COVERED in dog hair, and the needle dog hair where it gets stuck in the fibers of the seats. I have a lily brush and an analan brush in addition to the fox tail and the fox tail blew those out of the water. It’s much easier to grip your brush than the others.
I still do till this day read import tuner, modified magazine, turbo, superstreet and Honda tuning I've been into imports especially Hondas since the 9th grade and I'm almost 40 p.s I salute you bro keep doing keep doing you fam I'm in the process of starting my very own detailing business.
I was a Sport Compact Car subscriber myself. Liked that it was more on the technical/build side of things and not the car show trailer queen rides that some of the other Tuner mags catered to.
WHen you were washing the sills and door jams I was hoping you were going to wash the exterior! And you did! Car looks amazing!! I bet it smells a whole lot better, too!!
Amazing how it just boots right up after 10 years. I store my RSX every winter and come spring I put the battery back in and she boots up with no issues. Something to be said about those Japanese cars for sure.
Lol... I remember reading Honda tuning and all the JDM tuning magazines in that same time frame. I built an AWD EG hatch from junk yard parts and tons of fab work in the early 2000s. Absolutely love the old bug eye Subarus. I intentionally talked a salesman into test driving an STi for the giggles
i love certian jdm cars few friends i grew up with had them, but i grew up with american muscle. had a 305 in my caprice, but eventually over time fell in love with mustangs when the new edge came out. did a great job on this wrx!
When i had been watching this video a strong filling of dejavu didn't away from my mind.I may be wrong but it seems to me that i have actually seen a similar video... or not... however thank you, James, for your good and satisfying work!!!
My go to magazines were super street, performance vw, import tuner and modified. Once in awhile i would buy honda tuning depending on the car. Great times!
Definitely loved Honda Tuning, I had a 96 EK Hatch Type R/Phoenix Yellow with oem JDM everything installed on it, Carbon hood, hatch and trunk/wing..miss the jdm scene.
Since you are so far in by taking out the interior, why dont you take out the carpet and give it a super clean? Also since it had so much mold wouldnt it have been a good idea to clean under the carpet anyway??
The only car we got to detail was late January this year, we don’t normally detail in the winter..(We have to detail on our driveway, garage isn’t big enough). It was my neighbors car, it was her birthday. So, reluctantly, we detailed her car. I should’ve said no! Cleaning the spare tire well, I bent my arm too far when I was bracing myself from falling in there..(yes I know…HA HA! 😂). I’m 5’4..so I braced my left arm on the fender hump. I heard a loud pop and thought, “guess my should needed to pop”. I didn’t feel any pain that day. Next day, my arm was burning bad. Found out I tore my labrum and my cartilage is being peeled off my bone. Fun! So Tuesday I have physical therapy. Detailing comes with a few hazards..lol
I ve seen an hack to clean the security belt! You pull out all the belt , close the door and the belt is blocked outside, then you can foam it and then rinse
Its an old enough wrx, make sure you check oil before every drive. It can make a big difference in not starving the engine when you get froggy with the gas pedal.
make sure you get that cabin filter out from behind the glovebox~~ you''ll definitely also wanna check the wiper cowl, all sorts of leaves and stuff will live under there even without critters storing it. Also, check around the open trunk lips/edges around the brake lights, water and critters can get in there sometimes too and all that falls into the rear fender cavity where the emergency jack lives.
@@StaufferGarage Man it’s been that long since I followed your awesome channel?!?! hahaha that gen civic has a special place in my heart from my teenage years; so I enjoyed that little series you did with it! I’m just so stoked your channel has grown insanely large and inspired so many to detail their cars: including me! Thank you!!!!
Thats awesome! I'd love to get back into that stuff again but not sure this audience I built would actually watch it... hence the "flips." Easing into that sort of content and will dabble with oil changes, etc. and work into builds if I can
Even if I don't like the subaru engines because "haha blown head gaskets" and such, this car cleaned up really well and I'm glad it was saved. It would have been a waste to let this to hit the junkyard.
First off excellent job on detailing this kool import modern street car @Stauffer Garage & why would someone leave a awesome Subaru WRX to get molded & grimmy makes no sense
I have a fundamental question. Why there is a carpet in cars? Its sucha pain to clean. Just removable same shaped rubber would be much nicer. Take out the seats, take out the cover, pressure wash it and put it in, no stains left... plus waterproof for life.
Boa Noite amizade tudo bem com você. qual é a melhor forma de começar a fazer esse trabalho ou qual a dica que você dar para quem quer começar a lavar carro como uma nova profissiona .
I watch detailer vids and in the 80s made $100 a day doing it. Seeing you use a brush on door jams annoys me. When your preping the car do the engine, fender wells, door jams, floor mats and trunk. Then wash the car. Soo much effort wasted.
Чел про первую и вторую фазу мойки ты видимо не слышал? Если под давлением попшыкал на машину водой, это не означает что машина стала чистая… И обычно люди делают сначала подкапотку, а потом моют кузов. Это на будующее
Im willing to be if its been sitting for 10 years, the carpet probably still stinks. I'm tired of detailers making videos of videos without removing carpet. Your just pushing all the urine and feces deeper into carpet.
If u don’t have a set of Fox 🦊 Tail brushes, they truly are the best 💯 No issues with hair falling out like other brushes out there. Wash, dry and reuse. 👍🏽🧼🪣

Hell yeah dude! I had subscriptions to all of them
I used to really like Mykas channel. I found it really relaxing and nice to watch her decorate and clean. Hope she comes back to TH-cam one day. 💕
Insane. I wouldn't even have the balls to stick my head inside that moldy car. This will be a great transformation 🔥
Enjoy! It was insane at the end
come on and show your balls
Brilliant transformation!! Hey from South Africa!!
Great job cleaning up the WRX! I used to love that magazine- Honda Tuning!!

What cleaning agent did you use for cleaning and removing the mold/mildew?
Giving a like without seeing the content ❤
You won’t regret it!
Great job! Loved every part! It's so satisfying restoring vehicles like this!

That is an awesome achievement back then before they came out with awd kits!
Very nice
Love the winter solder mask 👌

that car deserves every bit of that love. i own a 2020 wrx and i lover every bit of it 5k added mods so far
Excelente videos señor saludos desde Ensenada Baja California México
Great work!
I just wish people would stop using the acronym JDM for vehicles that are not JDM. This is a Japanese vehicle, not a JDM one.
It would be right hand drive if it was JDM.
Love your channel. I’ve been a silent sub for years ❤ thank you for awesome vids

Gotta relive the past lol, they dont make those mags anymore

I miss my 97 hatch as well… had a b18c swap and fairly stock and so much fun to rip on
Love the channel! I have always been a fan of imports, I actually owned a 2001 Honda S2000 for a little while. Most fun car I have ever driven!
Nice and manual transmission is the new antitheft since not many in USA know how to drive them😁
Dang, that's a lot of mold!
Exactly! It’s such a shame tbh
Well someone stole my brothers manual WRX 🤦
Engine bay driver strut tower before and after so satisfying
Amazin cleanup. The comination of Oxyclean and Bio break wake quick and easy work on stains. Love it!
Since you are so far in by taking out the interior, why dont you take out the carpet and give it a super clean? Also since it had so much mold wouldnt it have been a good idea to clean under the carpet anyway??
Fantastic transformation. Also looks like it has an STI transmission in it those 5 speeds in the early wrx we’re known to be pretty weak.
Yep! I did have an sti swap engine/trans
Also has a full blobeye interior (Door panels and seats at least)
absolutely love seeing transformations like this
I love your videos. ❤
Thank you

Hey James, how long did the whole process take? And how long for just the interior and just the exterior? Love your work
Dude sprayed all the red off the intake manifold!
There was something majorly wrong with it. No reason powdercoat would come off that easy. I pressure wash mine all the time, no issues.
Oh no, you should not pressure washing that intake manifold, you just chipped off the factory red coating of that intake
Nah, pretty sure that guy just painted it. No reason powdercoat would come off that easy. I pressure wash mine all the time, no issues.
Do you use an ozone machine to get the smell out of impossible place like the air system?
I ve seen an hack to clean the security belt! You pull out all the belt , close the door and the belt is blocked outside, then you can foam it and then rinse
Yes! I saw that one too. Especially using a pressure washer
How do you sanitize the air condition vents because that smell has to be in them.
He doesn't that is just something that will build ur immune system
You usually have to get that done by the company that also charges ac system ...
Change your air filter
Its an old enough wrx, make sure you check oil before every drive. It can make a big difference in not starving the engine when you get froggy with the gas pedal.

It's sad he missed this. It's not detailing when you overlook all of these areas.
Ohohhhh about your JDM part at the beginning of the video… does this mean we’ll finally get an update to your Civic project car??
Sadly that car was sold 4 years ago… I wish I never sold it!

Amazing work! I'm surprised you did not remove the carpet to clean the mold that was showing on the metal underneath.
I’d sure love to have that Wrx
The power steering reservoir power washed was so satisfying. Am I alone on that?
Its a good thing you cant smell through youtube 😂. Hello Stauffer
Morning Shawn!

Vinegar is the best
Also Import Tuner, that was my magazine :')
I still have old copies of Import Tuner & SuperStreet. Lol.
Yessss love it😊
How many towels do you go through on the interiors?
Brasil 🇧🇷🇧🇷❤
First off excellent job on detailing this kool import modern street car @Stauffer Garage & why would someone leave a awesome Subaru WRX to get molded & grimmy makes no sense
👍🏻
Why do i feel you have done this a lomg time ago . Is this a repeat ❤
The "Toxic Tea" that came out of the extractor, 🤢
Does APC alone kill the mold?
The Intake manifold paint came off😂😂😂
Probably cause it was cheap rattle can, not powder coat.
Only problem with that car is the stupid boost gauge on the pillar, ruins a great car
I agree, I always liked the 3 gauge pod on the dash
Are you not scared about electronic parts when you use this liquid and brush at the beginning?
Why didn't you do the headlights?
good work but please rinse off instead of wiping straight away it reduces the amount of dirt left behind
Still have some old honda tuning mags.
i want it😭
That's not mold. These are algae...
It's basically it's own biome at this point. Lol.
I don’t drive stick shift

road noise
@@davidminutella I still hear road noise with all that carpet...
So did you get to keep the car? Or did you do all the work for someone else??

That intake manifold paint said im out!
That's cheap rattle can paint for you, not OE powder coat. Never had an issue washing mine.
And look at the modern WRX today. What a travesty.
Yikes, you accidentally chipped the red coating on the intake. 😰
Pretty sure that guy just painted it with rattle can. No reason powdercoat would come off that easy. I pressure wash mine all the time, no issues.
You didn't fix the headlights...bummer
a little closer with the pressure washer 💀
you should defiantly get under the carpet and see what's there. i think you'd be suprised
I like your videos but I just can’t with the music.
That isn't jdm.
Haha
8:07 cocacola?
Cant dare get near inside engine bay with pressure washer
Why? Pros do it all the time. I've never had an issue on my car.
Looks like you stripped some red paint from the intake manifold
Cheap rattle can paint tends to leave the chat early. Lol. That's at least 1/2 on the owner, it was already checked out by looking at it.

WHO LET THE SUBAWU ROT I WANNA TALK
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🇧🇷
Import tuner magazine for me buddy
Why don't you just took the whole floor carpet and blast it with water jet and clean the floor is there any particular reason you didn't do it?
dude ripp that carpet out and throw it in the trash!!!
Why do so many people not take care of their cars? That‘s annoying 😢
Why dont you just buy the car man
That you are not pulling the carpet knowing what is beneath is just hilarious - or plain stupid...

That vitamin water bottle looks in pretty good shape for a car that’s been “abandoned” for 10 years.
There is no way to fake mold accumulation. Your comment is dumb.
You want it to have gray hairs and collect SSI every month? Last I checked water bottles don’t age. 😂
why the fuck would a bottle deteriorate in a car buddy
Imagine posting a comment thinking you’re so smart 😂 Worlds dumbest person of 2023 💀
So you’re calling him a liar. Gotcha.
Im willing to be if its been sitting for 10 years, the carpet probably still stinks. I'm tired of detailers making videos of videos without removing carpet. Your just pushing all the urine and feces deeper into carpet.
Did you guys in the u.s. get the 2 door P1 like us in the u.k.?
I would never buy a Subaru everyone I know that owns one has oil leaks.
You can find great deals off people that were pigs.
If u don’t have a set of Fox 🦊 Tail brushes, they truly are the best 💯
No issues with hair falling out like other brushes out there.
Wash, dry and reuse. 👍🏽🧼🪣
