I've been cutting my own hair for about 7 years now and I always feel like I need to re-watch tutorials for a refresher when I'm planning on a deep fade. Good tips, very well explained.
Sergio, you are the man! Over here in the UK I’ve always wanted to be a barber but left it too late. Then during lockdown I had to start cutting my own hair. Thanks to you and Faded Culture tutorials, I now cut my own hair all the time, saving me £25 every 2 weeks. You are not only the best barber I’ve seen, but the way you explain every step is amazing. Thank you man
I've watched your self-cut tutorials before, and each time I watch them I learn something new. I've started cutting my own hair during the 2020 pandemic and it's all thanks to you Sergio.
@@FADEDCULTUREhey Sergio I had a question bro! I cut my first guide line with the trimmer & the top of my head is an opened guard number 8! How many guide lines should I cut in between & what sizes? I would like to continue using the trimmer as my first one but it’s hard to fade it all the way to an 8
Your videos have helped me a ton in self-cutting my own hair. I have even been doing it for some of my classmates that need haircuts. Can't thank you enough bro love the content.
literally started cutting my hair like a week ago, I’m loving it so far. Noones gonna be more invested in your hair than you yourself! Tip* buy yourself a normal mirror AND a 360 mirror. Face the normal mirror and use the 360 mirror to view back and sides. works perfect for me.
I just started cutting my own hair tonight. Man i got way more appreciation for barbers and respect for those who can almost effortlessly cut their own hair in less than 45min. I started at 7:10-finished at 10🤣 i came into it with all the tools thinking it was gon be quick. Them angles had me mad asl. Tryna figure out the motions was drivin me crazy. Almost called my barber for an emergency cut. My tips: have bright lighting, practice the motions with the safety guard FIRST, clear your area, and have a clear schedule.
I learn from faded culture how to do my own skin fade he’s the best barber ever. Now I don’t go to barber no more lol my fades looking good still mastering it thanks sergio 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Well done sir! 💯 I've been cutting my own hair for 20yrs. Never made the vid bc I didn't want to deter from the shops money A couple tips to accent this very well put together video.. If u only have a basic set. Learning the flick can get ur blends. Two or 3 mirrors in the back will prevent any visual obstruction the clipper or hand may impose (but one is enough with some skill) If the mirror effect is messing u up sloww down (I used to close my eyes for a sec to regain my bearings) If ur nervous start low on the head to practice ur blends u can always remove more hair but it's kinda hard to put it back on. GG
I really appreciate this channel because I feel like many would shy away from teaching how to cut your own hair. Personally I made the decision to just buzz cut my hair from now on to save money and this is no offense to barbers but anything over 30 for a haircut is too much. I will still go to one if necessary but I will try not to. Once again thank you for these tutorials 💯💯💯
Man, I graduated from Cosmetology/Barber School and became licensed in 1999.. Have been doing my thing every since. BUT--I must say, after many continuing education courses, I've NEVER had things explained as well as you have in this tutorial. Thank you. Have you considered teaching, if you're not all ready?
I just ordered the Novah clipper combo and an electric razor like the one you showed. Thank you for the tutorial videos you've taught me alot.along. Getting the 360 mirror with led lights and I need the fade guard head strap so I can keep it str8. Keep up the good work you and your brothers.
This is one of the hardest things I've ever tried to do lol. It's so difficult but I feel like with enough practice it's possible. Also your tattoos are fire!

Hey bro thank you so much for every step and detailed instructions I’ve looked up so much videos but everyone tends to skip and not show the full blending. I really appreciate it this gives me confidence to cut my own hair now.

Would you say that lighting is probably the most crucial part to getting a good fade? Also are there any specific lights/ring lights that you recommend and how many would you recommend?
Yes you def need good lighting, what I actually use is a little headlight since I don’t really want to waste money rn but a lot of barbers do use ring lights. I’ve seen all the barbers that I’ve gone to they use only one ring light
Lighting is crucial. It has to be right! I’m still trying to figure it out since I cut from home. I feel that when the lighting is too bright, the fade looks better then what it really is. It’s either that or I have bad eyes lol. That’s just my opinion. Any input faded culture?
Lighting is a big factor in cutting hair. I see a lot of barbers using ring lights but for me honestly I’ve never liked them. I just use regular fluorescent lights the Bar bulb ones but I recommend you setting up a haircut on an off day just to play with lighting positions to see which feels most comfortable for your eyes.
Thank you for making these videos. I learned a lot from you. I would like to hear your opinion on the new babyliss fx3 trimmers. Should I buy it or go for the goldfx? I’m not a barber, I just do my own fade like yours and give some family members a haircut.
Bro I'm over here using a $40 Walgreens Phillips Norelco all-in-one and my fades and beard shaves come out sick bro. Shout out to Phillips for affordable durable shaving systems.
I’ve tried this a couple of times, but I’ve failed 😩 I think because my hair isn’t as dark, it’s much harder to see the guide lines, then I forget where the lines originally were… and it ends up being a mess with lines all over the place 😒
