Thank you for taking the time to make this video and explain the differences. My new gun arrives tomorrow and I'll be able to easily identify whether it's an original or copy thanks to you. I paid for what should be the real gun, let's hope that's what arrives. Surely Debilbiss is suing the company making the knockoffs, doesn't make sense for them to allow this to continue.
Hi Kevin, thanks for watching, I think the problem for Devilbiss is the Chinese are a law unto themselves, so they can't take action in China because the courts don't allow them too, hopefully you new gun will be fine, Cheers 👍
Hey Pete, what you said makes total sense, it's gotta be very frustrating for Devilbiss. BTW, the new gun came in today and it's the genuine article. Thanks again!
@@kevinkendrick3954 that's good, they are lovely gun's, let me know what you think when you've have a go with it, be interesting to know what you think, cheers 👍
Hi Pete. Thanks for that info. I see them on the internet all the time. Never seen one with deviliss written on it. I have a g t I pro ur right it does have a shiny cap . Cost me 800$ Australia when I bought it . What I really want to know is what the copied one spray s like. Rob
Hi Rob, it sprays ok, somewhere between a TE20 and a HV30 cap, they don't last particularly long though, the gasket sealing the tip is the biggest problem which causes fluttering and bubbling in the pot, i don't use them any more, there not rewarding if that make sense 👍
pete i thought i brought a fake gun there weight 582 grams but when i put the china TE20 fulid tip in the genuine one loads of play so does that mean i have a genuine gti pro base gun came with no box but instructions and pps adaptor and 1.2 and 1.3 fulid its got stamped in black pro 200 -1.3 and pro 200-1.2 fulid tips the original has a tox screw the fake as a allen key
Hi mate, the fake ones have a smaller diameter thread so if your fake tip is wobbling around when you try it then it suggests the base gun is a genuine one
I knew win I purchased the fake that I couldn't be the real deal, but I does spray rather nice but to put it up against the real deal I don't know but this nock of or fake looks a lot like a Atom X spray gun I purchased and between the two there's no difference and how they spray but there was in price but then again the only gun that I have that sprays as nice as the two even though it may be imposters is the wait of them against my Finex 2 or 3000 it sprays really nice and is very light compared to either of the first two mentioned.

@@peteshobbies5383 ok so I got the black gti prolite w/te20 on ebay for $129. The outer diameter of the threads on the cup it came with measured roughly 5/8". 3m chart says for original tekna and gti prolite it requires #S15 adapter. I got that one and it is too big. I end up getting the #S37 which has a male 5/8 thread and it fits great when you screw it down. No leaks. The #S27 has a 16mm thread and I know will fit perfect! 5/8 (.625) and 16mm (.629) are so damn close but both will work. The gun I received sprays exactly like the original. I'm actually really impressed. The #S3 you mention has only a 3/8 thread it would be too small. Maybe we got the same clone just made by two different Manufacturers in China.
@Erik Hi Erik, good to hear you got it sorted ok, The one 3m recommend over here in the UK is the number 3, i have 2 genuine No3 pps adapters and they are 5/8inc thread so not sure what's going on to be honest

Hi buddy, yes, for sure, trouble is people are and were selling these on ebay claiming they were the real deal. It happens less now as people are wiser, cheers mate, appreciate it 👍
Hi Mark, yes, a fair few times, it's actually ok, it doesn't quite have the refinement of the original, mainly i think because the air cap is an in between one, it not a copy of any of them
Not a total failure, just not quite the real thing, I have thought about doing a back to back with the real one but my conscience won't let me which is a bit of a double standard because i bought it in the first place i guess 👍
@@peteshobbies5383 I don't see it as a double standard. More of an ethical issue which I think you came down on the right side of, no need to promote unlicensed clones .
Hi, the fake one sprays ok, it not as smooth as the real one's and there are certainly some deficiencies in the materials used, some parts can rust a little and all the air caps are the same regardless of what's on them so the versatility isn't there
Hi buddy, yes, replacement parts apart from tips and caps are none existent, another problem is the seals go prematurely and some parts start to rust particularly if people use waterbourn paint. Thanks for the comments, cheers 👍

Hi Marjo, no, not the same. The copy is a bit more fierce with a centre wet pattern. All the caps are the same, so not the range of the original
