I JUST got my PS5 in the mail. I go to set it up and can't get past the remote screen. The cable works, as I see it charging the controller- but it just flashes blue 6 times and won't connect. I've tried resetting the controller itself and utilizing every other USB port on the PS5 itself. I ended up finding a USB-C cord that had the USB-C adapter on both sides. Got that to work!
If you are unlucky with all your controllers not working and you did not set up Remote Play before this issue occurred, try using your TV remote to progress the "press the PS button” page before going to settings to reconnect your controllers. Hope this helps for those very unlucky players out there!
This worked thank you!!!! Once I fully turned off the ps5 and unplugged it left it for a min or 2 and turned it back on and it worked! (Don’t forget to plug your controller in before you turn it on!) good luck guys, thank-you for the help :)
thanks dude, all of the sudden neither of my controllers were matched and wouldn't sync with FIVE different USB cables but the combo of doing a hard reset and driving a pin into that hole on my controller worked and I didn't even have to re-pair them. not sure what the deal was maybe a brief power outage that just did not jive with the system
@@GiftedAura4 I was able to disconnect two controllers my white one and new red one I got off eBay( I just tried this controller today), but still trying to work on my other red controller from 2021. This don't make no sense. I didn't had no problem with nothing during the ps2 days, technology based companies just want people to waste money nowadays. And I just had to get my laptop fix yesterday 🤦♀️

Which colors do you have and did you get yours to work? If I don't get mine to work imma just have to call it in or replace them from Walmart(I have a protection plan, but I hope they don't give me used ones or I can get the money back or something and get a blue one. The last 3 galaxy colors are known to be improved)
@@GiftedAura4 I got it now! I had called technical support(playstation america) and she helped me. I had a connection problem cuz I'm at college and for some reason dormitories Bluetooth is f up. So what i had to do was turn off my console and go into safe mode(hold down last button on console till you hear 2 beeps), connect your controller by cord to your ps5, go down to 4.Restore Default Settings, then once you click ok, go to your settings in your home screen, scroll down to accessories, controllers, communication method, and change that to use USB cable(downsize you're gonna have to keep your controller on a USB cord till you are not gaming on the college campus then you can change it back to use Bluetooth). Also connect back to your internet.
this is great fix. but why does this happen in the first place? Every time i use my Ps5 controller on my Retro Game console, It never wants to reconnect to my ps5 until I reset it. So annoying!

It's probably the wifi module on the motherboard 😔. If you can, you should switch to xbox, I have both for my kids and i only ever have problems with the ps5s

Lately whenever I turn on my PS5 the controller will not connect, I have to use my LG TV remote to restart the PS5 then it works fine until tomorrow :(

I did everything you said but still cannot connect my PS5 controller. If I delete it then reset it, the controller will be listed but I cannot sync it. My only option at that point is to delete it until I reset it and the same thing happens. The controller isn’t synced with any other device. Also, it will only reset and appear under my controllers if it’s plugged in. It won’t do anything wirelessly.
hey, i have connection error on ps5 controller when i switch between bluetooth and cable bound, it disconnects after every little movement. And that's not because of the controller and not because of the cable. Do you have any tips for me?
Not sure if it will work for your situation but I was able to reconnect it by connecting it to my phone, disconnecting it, then connecting it to my PlayStation.

When I try to put it in sync mode it starts "slow blinking" and won't show up as an option to connect. *FIXED*
The blinking stopped by connecting it to my phone then disconnecting it. From there I was able to enter pairing mode and connect.

Nevermind. This is a dud. Won't update in safe mode, won't do anything in safe mode except shut down. It's going back. My kid is so disappointed.
