    Hello Dave, another lovely interesting video and Hamlet which so many people pass on the Ringwood- Salisbury road, must take a stroll around there🙂🙂 Thank you for explaining about the barn ‘Straddle Stones’. You see so many of them for sale at reclaimation yards or antique fairs, i often wonder what they were. I read , the tapered Capstone design made them extremely slippery especially if covered in lichen or moss, thus vermin and rats would find these impossible to climb, so suspending a barn on these Capstones made very good sense Dave, very clever thinking 🙂🙂

      Thanks Peter. It makes for a lovely walk around that area, especially when the weather is fine. Fiver (my younger dog) & I had "fun" of a different type when we did the Muddy Dog Challenge" at Breamore! th-cam.com/video/5B0dzPRfYHM/w-d-xo.html

    Another really enjoyable watch. The maze and the views were superb. And to be able to go to a pub afterwards!!

      Hopefully it will not be too long before these walks can end with a welcome "light refreshment"!

    I’ve added Breamore to my increasing list of places to walk! Thanks Dave and Logan.

      Thanks Ian. I can recommend The Bat & Ball in Breamore for "light refreshments" after your walk (Ringwwod Forty Niner available!).

      Yes indeed. The village was full of lovely "individual" houses, each with it's own unique style....and so many with a thatched roof.

    Hello Dave. I’ve been to the house and the village (the older part), plus the countryside museum. However, I’ve never walked to the mizmaze. Didn’t know it existed. I recall the church especially the front porch with the bench seats. One day I was there photographing outside the church, when I was forced to take cover from some heavy rain. Being a railway enthusiast, I tend to go to the old station and just beyond that is a beautiful old mill straddling the river Avon. Still a good video though.

      I hope to do a walk from Breamore Station to Fordingbridge , along the disused line, that will include exploring some of the WW2 pill boxes in the area (apparently there are quite a few!).

      @@DaveFord I’d love to join you on that one. The old station has been preserved pretty well and the mill is beautiful.

    Are you able to get
    onto the mizmaze?

    • @DaveFord
      @DaveFord  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can get right next to it but there is a fence all the way around it in as a preservation measure so you cannot actually get On to it. The fence isn't that high so the Mizmaze is very visible all the way around. Well worth the uphill walk to get there as it is so unusual & there are great views of the surrounding countryside as well.
