Another caution I’d like to mention is to allow your toenails to rest between pedicures AND inspect your toe nails to check for anything abnormal each time the polish is removed. For YEARS I would get spa pedicures with extra massage time every 3-4 weeks faithfully. It was my time to relax and decompress from my busy life and obligations. I would literally sit in the chair, put on my ear buds, turn on my music, lay back, and close my eyes until my tech finished! In August of 2022 I called my tech and needed an urgent appt. because I had to travel to our corporate office out of state to work and would be there for a couple weeks. She couldn’t fit me in so I decided to at least remove the polish since it was looking old. To my horror I noticed that my great toe nail was completely covered by what looked like a white powder… I knew that was a fungus. I removed the polish from my other great toe and the same issue. It was startling! I decided right then and there that my health was more important to me than cute toenails. I stopped polish immediately and began the process to heal my toenails. It took a year without any pedi or polish before they started to look healthy again. Don’t throw caution to the wind! This is serious. I’m so glad my situation got 100% better after some time, self-love, and patience. It’s not worth your health. Oh, and don’t bother commenting about the tech. I don’t go to that tech anymore. I felt like she should have told me what was going on with my nails rather than cover the issue with polish. And this shop is upscale, so don’t think that because they give you the whole experience and the aesthetic is on point that it means they practice appropriate sanitation or techniques.
This why doctors tell pregnant women not to wear nail polish during pregnancy. Also, doctors make you remove nail polish for certain surgeries and procedures, and can cause vital sign devices to read inaccurately
Fake nails ruined my real nails. I have started wearing fake nails at the age of 14, constantly wearing them for years.I would wear them, take them off-put new ones on,take em off- put new ones on.....by the time I was 19 my nails were an absolute nightmare. They were so thon, and broken, they would no longer grow. The nail tech told me that I need to gove my nails a serious break but I didn't listen. I tried for a little while, but I couldn't stand how my natural nails looked and how short they were. I tried all kinds of lotion's,oils, green tea to try to get to grow again and nothing happened. After 4 months gave in again and started wearing fake glued on nails. After a few months I developed a fungus, I had these weird green and black spots all over my nails. I went to the nail salon and they told me that my nails are basically f*cked and unless I want to loose my nails or get sick I need to stop, leave my nails completely alone & give them time to heal. Time to heal turned into years. It took years for my nails to recuperate and they just wouldn't grow they always stayed the same short length, really weird. I had to do so much TLC it was insane. Today I only wear fake nails every once in a blue moon for a special occasions like a wedding or some kinda event. And I don't ever keep the nails & get them filled or put new ones on. I let them grow out as much as possible & then get them taken off at the salon.
Getting fake nails as a teen is why I don't care for fake nails now. I stick to fingernail polish. I'll wear press ons every blue moon but that's about it
For the past 5+ years, I have gotten acrylic on my big toenail. It's actuality for safety reasons. As soon as weather permits, I'm in a sandal/ flip- flop. I have broken my natural nail all the waaaaay down several times before I decided to do this. I let it grow all the way out and wait a couple of months before getting it redone. It saves my toenails because I usually don't remember when I hit my toe enough to crack the nail. But to each his/ her own.
I am a professional Nail Technician/salon owner with expertise in this area. I don’t know if I can say specific company products, so I won’t, but there are non-acrylic enhancement products specifically made to improve the appearance of toenails. A nail tech should be certified in the application method of said products, however, and you will probably have to seek them out because they’re not going to be in every other nail salon on the corner out here like that. I must also say that this video isn’t completely accurate about acrylic, as there’s plenty of information that’s been written about the science of acrylics. As long as you find a reputable, professional, educated, legally licensed nail tech, your acrylics should be fine. But I agree, it should not be used on toes, hugely because of its rigidity.
Getting them don’t every two weeks. They’re not supposed to stay on for 4 weeks. It’s expensive but they need to be soaked off every two weeks. Try poly gel, it’s a bit softer
Acrylic on toenails are crazy!!! All I can think about is hitting the edge of something with my toe 😖. My feet are too delicate! I don’t like gel either.
Great once in awhile for a wedding or something special. I just remember how my own nails would get worn out because of the filing and removal. They get in a hurry to move you along. Sometimes you leave with wet polish
A woman I know had to get cancer treatments for her hand in her 30's. She got her nails done every week since she was a kid. She has noticeable scars on her hand from the treatments. She still insists on getting her nails done.
They don't always clean some of that stuff they use... I don't go to the nail salon anymore. Soak your feet in listerine and warm water for about 30 minutes to an hour every week or 2 and it will kill the fungus... Google it
Yes, yes, yes, wear the sunscreen *BUT* remember in order for it to be effective it need to be applied at least 15 minutes prior to UV exposures. Don't wait the second before.
My first set of acrylic toes an Asian gave them to me without my permission. I loved the look and asked for it the next time I got my toes done…. The new Asian tech flat out told me no and went about their business so I just left it at that and never got them again. Guess it WAS for the best lol. They know that they are quick to tell you what u will and won’t get!

A few years ago a women went viral for getting herpes and warts all over her hands and feet from going to the nail techs

Oh my God! The more you know! I will be sending this video to my loved ones! Thank you for sharing 🎀

That's why parents don't need to spoil their kids and treat them like they're grown. ..nails at 14....don't need it too grown n unnecessary
I don’t get my nail done for these exact reasons alone

Acrylic is HORRIBLE ESPECIALLY FOR TOE NAIL !!!
JUST GOOGLE IT
Your channel is so informative lol😂❤ thanks for bringing these things to the light
2:21 Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a bacterium, not a fungus. But I agree with you 100%.
What’s the alternative!!!????
Gel or Powder Dip

Regular Degular fingernail polish
I use Nanoflex. Former nail technician.

Thank God someone is talking about this. I try to tell the women you better stop...
That's why I prefer to stick to regular nail polish. Yes it only lasts a week but at least I am safe.
Acrylic nails and the process of applying them means you are absorbing toxic chemicals into your body.
Great once in awhile for a wedding or something special. I just remember how my own nails would get worn out because of the filing and removal. They get in a hurry to move you along. Sometimes you leave with wet polish

Many ladies need to a foot doctor, a podiatrist who can treat fungus and other foot issues
What is the ladies channel that is talking please?
Why I stopped and grow my own finger nails
Very well done!!!!!
That never sounded like a good idea, if you just think about it for more than a second.
Stop getting gel polish ‼️‼️‼️
I never put them on my toes. I just started and getting my nails and feet done and all of a sudden my big toe has fungus in the nail back to back
They don't always clean some of that stuff they use... I don't go to the nail salon anymore. Soak your feet in listerine and warm water for about 30 minutes to an hour every week or 2 and it will kill the fungus... Google it
LADIES WEAR SUNCREAM BECORE DOOBG NAILS
Thank you, cause I don't use gel but I definitely own a lamp.
Yes, yes, yes, wear the sunscreen *BUT* remember in order for it to be effective it need to be applied at least 15 minutes prior to UV exposures. Don't wait the second before.
I had a pinky toe nail that would never grow out properly . Guess what fixed that ? Acrylic .
Now the mail grows properly and whenever I go a few months without it’s ok but then I have to get it done enough
My first set of acrylic toes an Asian gave them to me without my permission. I loved the look and asked for it the next time I got my toes done…. That’s for the information
Gel.
Stop putting them on your fingernails as well.
