You can just FEEL the relief when the skin starts to relax, settle, and return to its normal, healthy color. I had an ingrown on a big toe before; I KNOW how bad that pressure gets.
Ok, I have had 3 surgeries on my big toes for that exact reason, don't cut them short! That causes ingrown toenails which makes the nail grow into the skin.
I’m obsessed with this Channel… it’s the fact that I understand what they’re saying when speaking putong hua and also how soothing and clean the doctors handwork is.
while back i had an infection due to an ingrown toenail. got so bad i had to go to a doctor bc it was swollen and filled with puss. didnt get one of these surgeries and just trimmed it myself but *man* it fucking sucked i still occasionally have minor cases of ingrown toenails but usually im able to fix them myself
This Dr is nice and gentle. He’s so good compared to other videos that’s I’ve seen. Most of them cut so much nail off and most of the time the patients toe is bleeding.
I also have one and cut with a small cuticle scissors just the corner, then take eyebrow tweezers and grab the piece firmly then pull it veryyy slow up. I never had blood with this method and there is nothing missing from the normal toenail.
It will just come back, I’m not a doctor but having had this procedure done and watching other doctors I can say this method is the last I would choose. The real fix is surgery and using Acid to stop part of the nail from growing back.
@@crystalo8603 I'm in the UK, so the NHS specialist doctor warmed my feet by rubbing it and then use a small tourniquet to cut off the blood flow to the toe. After it had numbed a little I received an injection on either side of the toe to block the pain. Next, the doctor made a cut from the top of the nail down to the nail bed removing the section of nail directly cutting into the flesh of the toe, this was done on both sides. Lastly, a type of acid is placed on a cotton bud and pushed into the nail bed where the nail was growing into the skin this prevents any regrowth meaning this procedure is a permanent fix. Most of the TH-cam doctors that do this procedure don't do as clean a job as the average NHS specialist. Check out: The Toe Bro
An orthese ( piece of wire) which will prevent the nail edges from curving. Just cutting the edges ( like in the video) means easy relief short term, but an even accentuated issue long term: the flesh will invade the free space in a matter of days and the nail , which grows slower, will cut again through it.
I love to watch this guy, it amazes me how he does this with no blood, most podiatrist numb and destroy the nail completely by basically cutting it off. This guy is like a surgeon, pretty amazing!!!
This will grow back, there's a reason podiatrists destroy the nail. If you understand that it will grow back then there's nothing wrong with doing it like this.
After providing relief, the goal should be to educate the client on how to get their nail grooves back where they are supposed to be. If the sides of the nail are continued to be removed, the problem will be perpetual.
Damn I don't know how you can stand it because mine hurts so bad it's so tender to the touch. But not infected. Just painful. I couldn't do it myself. I got it done at the podiatrist, clinical setting and everything. you are gonna lose that toe. See a podiatrist they provide numbing there is a nice podiatrist lady in England she has a youtube channel on here she removes ingrown toenails she has great bed side manners too
While I appreciate the precision, this patient will always have recurring ingrown toenails with this method because they aren’t also killing the nail matrix after doing the minimal wedge resection they’re doing. The nail folds will just keep encroaching and yet the edge of the nail will still try and grow back, digging in again.
I just had one cut out and lost my whole toenail! I’m wondering if this could have been avoided but guess I ll just have to live with it. Sure is ugly!!

@@dondonhui Yeah that's generally the idea. If it doesn't get overgrown, it's much harder for it to get ingrown.
