Thanks Dave, I know you've moved on to bigger things now, but for beginners like me with an S28 these videos are very helpful. QUESTION though, Do you know anywhere i can get an hing system for the radio
    arch on the S28 ??

I don't but if you join sealineforums.co.uk there's a guy called cannonmike on there he's got sally Jane and has had the arch hinged so he can probably point you in the right direction

Great video. Another good one would be fresh water coolant drain/flush. There is already an ok video on flushing raw water system.

Not a common job/procedure tbh but I could look at doing it even though I don't think its generally needed as a "service" item.

@@DavesBoat Agreed, but one of those things that I think I should do having acquired the boat with about 400hrs and unsure of what has been put in it or when it was last changed.

Looking at getting a KAD32 powered boat shortly and was wondering, I know it was a long time ago, but how much did it cost you to do the service and how much would it have cost to pay someone else to do it? Be good to compare the saving. 👍

god can't remember thet exact cost but a rough ball park is about 300 quid in parts/fluids and (ignoring the time taken to suck oil out) 2 hours of work ish per engine. i was quoted 1400 per engine for someone to come service them for me inc parts so well worth doing it myself. some of that cost could have been traveling as i'm not in an area that engineers frequent so they put travel costs on but still its alot of money.

@DavesBoat no probs. Still a big saving. Thanks for coming back to me and hope you're enjoying the S43. I'm looking at the S23/25 as a step up from my Fletcher Faro cuddy. Only started boating this year but got the bug already 👌👍

Thanks for that, interesting stuff. Do you know how much that would have cost if you had a Volvo engineer do it?

Can't remember the exact figure but when I bought the boat Burton waters quoted me I think £650 + vat per engine. Can't remember if that was including parts or not.
